I posted this in the bone mets thread, but am sharing here too. It's a kind of feel good story. My husband used to work with a woman named Laurette. About 15 years ago, her car was hit by a drunk driver, and she was left paralised from the collarbone down. She can use her hands enough to work her electric wheelchair, but that's about it. She's an artist and paints by holding the brush in her mouth. She's one of the most positive and thoughtful people I know. Today is our 8th wedding anniversary and she sent us a surprise - a huge basket of flowers, a bottle of champagne, and flowers! We're both just stunned and a bit lost for words. So amazing to have people who face bigger challenges than I do on a daily basis be so thoughtful. She's my hero. The picture doesn't do the flowers justice. They are stunning.
