Frey-see if you can find a sunburn gel that has lidocaine in it. Solarcane has a spray, walmart has a nice aloe gel with it. Numbs stuff. I use it on bug bites, and PN in my feet.

not laughing! Why Monistat? Isn't that for yeast infections? Oh! 😵. How do you get yeast on your hands? Never had one of those, knock on wood!

We nurses do really silly things Smaarty. It is called look in the dag closet and see what ya got. I know it sounds silly but it is helping..Kind like the way Nystatin helps with thrush. The rash is getting better . If all goes well I will soak them in Summers Eve later tonight. I just have to figure out if I want to use Spring Meadows or go all out and use Fresh Scent.

well, whatever works! Hope you're better fast

Summer Mind-blower here.
Rosie - sucky news for sure. (((Hugs))) Hope procedure tomorrow gives you relief.
Smaarty - You're teaching GD young. Terrible heat you're having there. Sounds like something TX would have.
Frey - think it's just the cream base or the actual medication part of the Monistat? Like Smaarty, whatever works lol.

Frey--what about oatmeal or apple cider vinegar? They're good for itch relief.
Rose--so sorry on the news. Hopefully the doc tomorrow can make you a little more comfortable.
Smaarty--beautiful quilt

I loaded my hands up with bag balm. It is soothing. Going to try the apple cider vinegar tomorrow. Ty for the suggestions.

Rosie i am sorry...what now big hugs

Rosie, may you have peace with whatever decision you need to make. This is really stinks. Hoping you will get complete relief with tapping.

FrenchFrey, you are indeed silly, just like Marlana. Whatever works. An antifungal is an antifungal wherever you use it. Haha
Marlana, good choice on the hairstyle. Bald is definitely more chic than the comb over Trump hairstyle. I hope you are feeling more human everyday.
Ms. Smarty, cute GD and what a talented kid. Glad you had solar installed. I am afraid to see our electricity bill for this month. We have a whole house fan that helps us save money on the electricity in the summer, but it is no good this week without the Delta breeze.
Jazzy, I hope you had a good night out. Can't wait to hear your cocktail waitress story. I'm fluffy chest rub. Is there such a thing?0 -
Hello to all......
I am always behind anymore, but think of you all, and enjoy everyone's perspective & support...
Rose, agree with you on the recent decision on equal rights. Not that long ago, I felt differently. Not for the same reasons as the majority, but what it would cost... A very good friend, who is religious, set me straight. I am so sorry about the ascites. My biggest fear. I had H-Pylori 2 years before my lobular BC. It supposedly has a elevated rate of stomach cancer. Sounds very uncomfortable. Thinking of you, hoping for better news.
Smaarty, another beautiful quilt. Your grandkiddos are lucky to have you.
Patty Pepper, HOOTIE, wahoo for the young men coming home.....keeping my long hands & feet crossed that you continue to feel decent....
I am keeping very busy, still getting settled, taking care of DH. He got a nasty virus & has been sick. Not good timing, so busy at work. My DD has a b-day coming up......29 yrs.....how did time fly so quickly?????
I am back to playing golf. Shoulder gets sore, but not complaining. Lucky to be out & about.....
Blondie, excited for you.

loverly--I think a fluffy chest rub involves marshmallow cream aka fluff. Or it may have to do with a menial job in the porn industry known as "fluffers". I'll have to investigate more and get back to you. 😈
If anyone's interested, this is an article that's 4 or 5 years old about my baby brother (he turned 44 yesterday!) working with cancer researchers at the Mayo Clinic:

Big hug for Rose this morning. I hope you were able to rest yesterday.

Howdy Patty. Are you a little bit excited today?
Thinking of Rosie very much this morning - well it is now 12:20, morning gone lol
Howdy H1O - DH and I think of moving frequently but with this house paid for I doubt we could get anything reasonable in town. Think DH would not tolerate close neighbors again and heaven forbid an apartment. Earplugs would be forever implanted in his ear. Hope you are staying "cool" relatively speaking.

How do you spell relief??? PARACENTESIS!! Ra Ra.. they got off 4 liters! I can breathe again.. I can see my feet over my stomach! Sweet.
May you all have a great day. I am taking a nap.
Tumor markers 600+ sigh. How to lose an instant 8 pounds!0 -
Rose- I am so glad you got some relief. Maybe you can eat a bit more now. Rest well.

Rose,
Just as Jazzy stated-hopefully, you can eat and maybe enjoy your food now. You deserve a good rest.0 -

Thinking of you Rosie! I met our Rosie at Lutheran Breast Center, and that biopsy took over an hour.... But it doesn't matter..... She would do it for me, and was there when I had the CA surgery, AND after they did my hip...
I took her to a fun breakfast, and listened to her, and she told how it hurt, and they packed it, and how long the needle was, and the sounds she heard. She will find out tomorrow...Has to keep ice packs on it for 24 hours....
AND!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM SOOOOOOO HAPPY! DH got a jury duty summons!!! And he is just sort of dis-comboberated anyway, so I emailed the Jury commissioner, and told her the circumstances, and how I would have to take him and stay with him, and that I would really appreciate that since he is almost 78, they would take that into consideration!
She wrote right back! ...
Thank you for your inquiry. Mr. Scarpello has been excused from jury duty in Denver County.
I wrote back and THANKED HER SO MUCH! She just answered and said You're welcome and have a nice 4th!
There ARE good things that happen when you need it the most!

chevy. - excused from jury duty. Yea. Good job. So sweet of you to be there for Rosie. I remember the surgeon that took the core biopsy sample ( I knew personally ,) tells me he is 99% sure it's cancer and its huge. Boo I laughed and said call me when you get the results very next day calls me at work and is crying. Breaks the news to me. I tell him he really needs to work on delivering such news. Wonder if he ever got better at it.

Yeah Peppermint.... when the guy was doing mine, I simply asked "what does it look like to you?" Because I could tell the area they were looking at and marking.... He just said "well it looks like a small breast cancer, but all we will probably do is a Lumpectomy, followed by radiation, and that's it."
So I kind of just "knew"..... Dr. called the next day, and said ...."Yes it is, but I'll get together a good team for you, and it probably WILL be a Lumpectomy, followed by Radiation.... and it doesn't look like chemo is needed...." I just don't think that's what Rosie has, for some reason.... Maybe a cyst or something?
Yeah, your Dr. just hit you over the head with it! Hope you still like him.... Ha!

Akron Ohio. Best Killer brownies in the whole world.
Patty, YOOHOOO. I intend to send a dozen after the 6th, but I need to know if they're any chocolate or nut allergies. Also, they have some variations, Do you want a mixed box or just the trademarked Killer brownie.

Chevy- I hope your Rosie gets some good "benign" news tomorrow. I am glad they will tell her quickly. I had to wait for days for my news last time.
I had some apts today then went to the grocery store. It was very busy, people probably off for the holiday weekend and buying up there BBQ things. I was just regularly grocery shopping. I bought some red/white/blue flowers to put in a cool white vase I got in Denver at Nordstroms a couple weeks ago. Will post a pic when they are put together.
Last night of steel drum class tonight (sob....)

Blondie 8 days and counting. DS was good about me coming a day earlier. They have company from the 3-6 with lot's of comings and goings. They were looking for a down time. But he understands. BTW I have a gray Toyota van
Loverly re: the info "It's better than ice cream on a hot day" What fun, that's the way I feel too.
Paws, Great the irons good. please, teach me. Why would it be good for a year?
Chevy, it does sound like the documentary was done in good taste. Sorry I jumped to conclusions. Just been in and around Alzheimers homes either with patients or family. This link is to a city in the Netherlands. It is a self contained community where the AZ patients live, work and play. Doing what they want when they want. The caretakers are all dressed in street clothes. I supposed a comparison to the Truman Show is a good analogy. Switzerland has already built one. This I could seriously go for. It is so humane. It makes so much sense why it works.

Mahal Cielo Village, San Luis Obispo, CA – USA is the first place in the USA that is under development
this is a link to a video story on the Dutch community. It near 24 minutes, but nice if you have the time.

Hoping for good result's on your Rosie's biopsy

Chevy--fingers crossed for Rosie. Both the doctor that read my mammogram and the one that did my biopsy thought mine was a benign fibroadenoma. Boy, did they guess wrong! But in their defense, my small tumor was sitting on top of a much larger fibroid cyst so they were sort of right. On the ultrasound, it looked like an upside down mushroom.I'm glad that your husband doesn't have to go to jury. I'm not exempt from jury service and still get summoned every few years. I've actually made it to the jury box once after 3 days in the jury pool for a homicide committed by some of the gang members in my city against some in another city. First and last question by the public defender was where do I work...
Roses--glad they got all that fluid off of you and you're feeling more comfortable. I'm not sure what 600 on the tumor markers means but from the way you expressed it, it's not good news and for that, I'm sorry. Hugs.
Sas--those brownies look delish--do they come in gluten free?

Patty, yes, DBF has at times said different things at his surprise. He's ten years younger, but hadn't been with anyone normal ever. Nothing close to what he has here. It was a strange match that would not of been made in a different time. But it is good now. We accept each other.
Loverly, It is gift. Staying in the moment can be difficult. Practice makes it easier
The few things I've learned this time around Not perhaps all at the same time. Always go to bed together --always. No matter what's on tv. Cuddle and skin brushing, intertwining like grape leaves. In a fairly short time the joke will be that you can't get close enough. I may at times get up after he's asleep or look at kindle, I just don't loose that close time. This part make shock you or not. One thing I had never participated in or heard of was morning Essex. It's the nicest.
Loverly what a funny story about the ants. I can see it LOL

Chevy, Donald Trump how did he ever make any money. Every time he opens his mouth ---stupid just falls out word after word. All these companies and Mexico are disassociating with him b/c of his remarks about immigration. Now he's trying to do damage control. Which is just as stupid. Thank OMD he won't get any further than a couple weeks into the race.

Jazzzzzzy, still waiting for you to tell the cocktail story.
Marlana, you are a brat!!! I read the article about your brother.Wow! How exciting it is to be involved with the research/study. Hope they figure it out soon.
FrenchFrey, your hands all better?
Ms. Sass, you not well??? Still sore? Not aggravated old injury?? Did you do butterfly stroke or what?? Lost my left big toe nail 2 months ago from badminton. Went back to playing again for the first time on Saturday since surgery. I stub my right toe this time from sudden stop. Ouch! I think I am going to lose the right nail too. Can't excercise the way I used to anymore without hurting myself. A clutz I am.
Ms. Chevy, I am sure your Rosie were comforted with you being there for her. Hope it's benign. I was summoned twice for jury duty. One was a robbery and I don't remember what the other one was because I was not selected. I actually don't mind jury duty if I don't have to work or take care of the kids. I am glad you were able to get Mr. George out of jury duty.I agree that there are good things that happen when you need it most.
I usually study the face of the technicians during the scan and their behaviors afterwards to try tofigure out if the scan is good or bad. Here in California, technicians are not allow to tell you much. Have you started on the house painting ? Please don't climb on the ladder. Be careful
Patty, what a sweet surgeon you had. My BS is the most compassionate and personal doctor I have ever had. When my DH,with tears in his eyes, said that he does not care if I am maimed by the mastectomy and that all he wants is for me to be around with him and the kids, my surgeon started crying. Could you believe it? She made it look like our battle was also her battle. I think currently she is having serious health issue herself and is off work indefinitely. Because of HIPPA, they won't tell us anything, even whether or not she will come nack. I can never repay back the kindness and compassion she had shown us.
