Mags, well, I have to be descriptive.Didn't realize I was THAT descriptive. Loverly, has designated me the expert on Essex. Not true, but someone has to take up the standard.(flag) I just haven't decided what title I should have..........I'd forgotten we had talked about your ovarian scare.......bad scare, not nice.
Chevy???? can you give me a title?
LMG how about "Breathing leads to cancer" Dickdocs, dickdocs, dickdocs.
Wren, hmm, the belly washing wasn't for cancer cells. It was b/c of the cells that may have sloughed from the gangerous fallopian tube. Gangrene comes from an anearobic bacteria. "Washing" is a standard procedure when they're is a break in the intestinal tract or in your case the tissue is dead. The other part of the standard procedure is using Ancef / kefzol/cephazolizin (liquid form of Keflex) in the washing. I'm guessing when he told you what he did in the procedure, he missed a few words. The usual is to not close the belly and pack the wound. This would prevent the closed environment that gangrene likes when it's in the belly. Since the advent of the Wound Vac that is the standard. Did you have a Wound Vac? What I'm describing has been the standard care for 70 years maybe longer. Ancef as an adjunct was started to be used in the 70's when I started. If the belly was closed, not unusual to be in the hospital for 5-8 days on I.V. antibiotics
OMD they're is our MammaR. How you doin' Sweetness?

Mommie. tested google and Avon, it's not pulling to here.
My concern was overboard. Did find out that Avon is into funding BC stuff allot. But I didn't eval the quality of the funding.0 -
Luv- well, believe it or not, I am going to an all day event here called the Route 66 Summerfest with three stages of music, street fair, and more. Starts around 2 and goes until 10 p.m. Meeting a bunch of friends there. I am telling you, I am on a total music journey this week. Not there is not more music the rest of the summer, but today sort of culminates the big week of music here. Four events in 8 days, whoot whoot. I am tired this morning but taking it slow and gearing up to go again in awhile. More pics tomorrow from the events today!
I am thinking Mags would like to be there today. She likes Route 66 and she likes all kinds of music, which they will have today. Heck, I wish you all could come with me!

Oh and how about Cami? Anyone heard from her lately on any other threads?

Hey everyone, we have another new blood-Hear2day! Welcome!
0 -
Hi Hear2day, if you stick around , Chevy will be along to change your name
Marley, YOOOHOOoooooo you alive?
Hi Spookie I know you're there.
Chevy, what up, tired from the kids. No morning show?
Rosie, ?????? quiet for a couple of days?
Talked with 2Ta last night. Stuff sucks. For those that talk or text. She needs support.
Talked with Phyliss. She's back in Nebraska. Didn't to the Stim trial. They weaned her off some meds--Neurontin----neuropathy was tame and off some pain meds and pain was tame........now they are weaning the rest to see what's underneath the drugs. Bottom line she may not need the stimulator.
Patty. Where are you. Swimming?
Jazzy, what town do you live in? It's a fun place. Nada goes on around here.

Jazzy, big Sis, could you swing by and pick me up? Do they have Depeche Mode or New Orders? Still stuck in the 80's, although I do enjoy some 60's and 70's music but don't know name of most artists from this era. I like classical and baroque too

Sassy- I live in Albuquerque. We have a phenomenal music scene here in the better weather months. I never like to take vacations anywhere in the summer as there is so much fun stuff going on here. The music stuff is peak June-August, but especially in July. The rest of the year, there are things going on, but not like right now. Sort of unique to this time of the year. Pretty quiet around here in the winter and early spring months.
Loveroflife- sorry, no 80's bands around here lately. We get a lot of the old 60s and 70s bands swinging through though. Many of them are hosted by the casinos here.

The lioness was aloof last night, but the male peacock had no problems strutting his stuff.

And I suppose getting in your dish to eat makes things easier?

On Thursday night, the vet insisted I take off Shats dressing to check what was underneath. Perfect. sutures intact, no redness, swelling or drainage. But the dressing was off. Yesterday' morning fine.Yesterday's afternoon wound check found redness & variable swelling. Obviously, licking present. Redressed to prevent licking. Today, distal swelling which could be from nurse wrapping it to tight. Dressing off b/c of swelling. The dog is on the bed with it's leg elevated to reduce swelling. Such a good dog. She's staying in position with it elevated on a pillow. I'm guessing she actually feels better in this position. If not she's the most obedient dog ever.
Jazzy, ah-hah heard that about Alburkerkie. Not particularly the music, but that it was a fun place. How long did it take you to learn how to spell the name? When I was in Ohio, Cuyahoga was a common name. The spelling and the saying were difficult.

Sassy- I still have to spell it out by writing it out when someone asks me to spell it for them. LOL!

yup, Sas, I'm alive. I've been in a coma but still alive. Went to my parents' Tuesday for the all-star game, slept some more. Wednesday, forced to vacuum as with the heat comes massive amounts of dog hair, rolling like tumbleweeds across the floor then slept the rest of the day. Made it to the beach yesterday for about 30 minutes after going to sit with my friend who's daughter was in the final stages of her battle with ovarian cancer. She transcended her battle this morning; she was only 35.
Y'all have been busy--strippers, Essex, bongs plus serious stuff.
One of the things that ticked me off about my diagnosis is that no one bothered to tell me that my tumor was sitting on top of a much larger cyst until I met with the BS. So for two weeks from ultrasound to consult, I thought I had about a 5 to 6 cm tumor instead of a 1.3 cm tumor.
Goats--peanut butter is my go-to for doggie meds. I figure why pay for the pill pockets when the pb does the job.
Loverly--very nice quote. I'll have to pass that on to my friend who just lost her daughter but maybe not for a few weeks.
Chevy et al who wrote about that spot above a man's derrière, I've always called it the "sweet spot". My college BF was a water polo player/swimmer and I went to a lot of polo matches/swim meets with men in speedos who had those dimples!
Funny story about Joe Manganiello--when my sister and I went to Italy in 2012, we took a tour of a Tuscan winery with a farmhouse dinner. The other couple on the tour was a newlywed couple on their honeymoon. The husband mentioned that his family was Italian so I asked his last name. He said "Manganiello" and I said "oh, like the actor!". "Yeah, he's my brother." The way he said it, he was probably cringing thinking that we were going to pepper him with questions but we just let it go. They actually thanked us at the end of the evening for not getting all star-struck. They did say thatJoe paid for their wedding in Italy and their honeymoon! Sadly, the brother was not nearly as handsome as Joe.

So okay.... All I've been doing is cleaning out under my cupboard under the kitchen sink.... And those other cupboards that you have to get down on your stomach to REACH anything! Decided I don't need 1/2 that stuff in there, so it will be given away. It is just so HARD to get down that low on your knees, and even my kneeler, and reach clear in there to get what you really don't need!
And you guys are all busy talking about important stuff! So sorry for all the problems! I've just been dealing with my Chicken neighbor... I SWEAR those people think they live in the little House on the Prairie.... YOU know...the ones with chickens, and a cat they never let in, and 2 little girls... ! They are in their 30's....
We cleaned up OUR parking a couple years ago... paid to have all the grass taken out, barrier put down, and rocks on top.... It looks SOOOO much neater, and we don't have to water.... Just spray once in awhile for a few weeds that come through.... But me and my hippie neighbor, the one who thinks she lives on the prairie, decided to throw flower seeds out on the parking.... A ditch runs between our property. The parking HAD grass over it, which looked FINE... So we left it alone... But flower-child bribed ME into paying $75 for "our" half, to have the ditch parking dug uip, so she could plant those damn "flowers"....
Well THIS year, it came up all WEEDS! 4 foot tall weeds! I mean no-one could even park next to it, because of the JUNGLE out there! Well after 3 emails, asking her what we could DO to make it look better, she finally called, none to happy, because I didn't think her "flowers" were pretty. I said "Have you been OUT there?" They WERE pretty ONCE, but it's all weeds now! Wildflowers do NOT stay pretty! She said, "Well, maybe we could go in 1/2 and get some rock, etc to put out there".... I said I am not putting any more money into it, that I would just use the weed cutter to cut it all, or at least my half, down to the ground, then spray weed block and put a barrier on, and later some sort of mulch or cedar bark.
I don't want to water out there! It is a waste... So after talking to me, she is having her DH Nick clean it all up! The city gives warnings for people who do not keep the parking clean.... I told her.... She said, "Oh, I guess if they do I will deal with it".... Man, I don't want to make her mad, but I swear she thinks weeds look "good" mixed in with the flowers.... even 4 feet high! She should put on her crocs and wear pig-tails, and go bake a muffin!
Littlegoats...... You said...... " Last week when I was in MO's office they were going to arrange Prolia injection.... When I first read that I thought you said "arrange pole dancing!" Now do I need a drink or what???? I will get a chocolate coke.... Ha!

Sas check out Think Before You Pink. Avon is like Komen, lots of hype, little funding.

you ladies have been busy.
Thanks for all the pm's checking on me. Makes me feel accepted. Yesterday I got admitted to hospital again. Terrible new pain in back and pain all over, nonstop vomiting and diahrea again. Very dehydrated. They put a tube down my nose and throat to suck all the infection and gunk from my belly. Also stops vomiting. Never had the tube Before and I pray never again. Was more than uncomfortable going in and painful while it was in. It's out now but gagging blood from the tube scratching my throat. I see have an horrible uti but mo concerned how high my calcium is means cancer growing. It also could be from dehydration which is what I am believing. Supposed to get an MRI sometime tonight. Please keep me and my family in your prayers. It's been very hard on dh and ds's ESP ds1. Ds1 (13) told dh last night that he knows I am quickly dying. NOT happening !!!!
Hugs to all
Hootie hoo

Patty I'll hold the "Your calcium's high because you're dehydrated." firmly in mind!

Jazzy, the festival sounds like a lot of fun. DH and I have traveled Rt 66 west as far as Amarillo, and east as far as St. Louis. In Clinton, OK, there is a Rt 66 museum which is very interesting and a lot of fun. Pictures of the building process and artifacts from the heyday. Rt 66 goes right through our town, and there are fun things to see close by.
I'm actually going to take a short road trip tomorrow. My Missouri friend got a last minute opportunity to fill in a spot on a casino trip with people she knows, and invited me to meet her there. It's about a 3 hour drive for me, a stretch to be sure, but then I'll have all day Monday and head back Tuesday. I had no idea how DH would react, since we've kind of been on a belt-tightening regimen between my medical bills and his, but when I told him he was excited for me and rented a car so he can get to work. (He said I could have the rental but I'd rather drive the car I know.) He made sure I had an empty credit card and even money for slots. He filled the gas tank, checked the tires, cleaned out his trash, etc. So wow. He has been working all day from his home office; his team has a software rollout that's overdue and having issues so he will barely miss me.
Dinner's ready. Later, gaters.0 -
hugs Patty!!!

Side note: my friend said her husband thought it was only fair that she and I got to have this trip since when we were there he and DH got to go to the International Horseradish Festival. He called DH yesterday afternoon and they had a big laugh about it. DH is very much the strong silent type while her DH is very sanguine. We were having a conversation about them the other day, she asked if DH was talking. I said, you know, he just never does talk much. She said it was just as well since her DH talks enough for all of us. She is right about that, he's in sales, and always has a funny story to tell. We are so fortunate to have husbands that have become good friends, even if we live 8 hours apart. She's the one who drove out here to visit when I was doing chemo, drove 8 hours each way just to have one night here.0

Patty--praying for a speedy recovery from the infection and that the calcium is from dehydration or from hyperparathyroid!

We're having crazy weather....my friend's FB post sums it up pretty well: "So it's rain, sun, thunder, wind, sun and more thunder........I blame Florida."

I have been thinking about you Patty. We need our ChattyPatty.

Marlana, I am glad Ms. Sass woke you up from your slumber. Her YooHooo is really loud heh? Glad to hear you were able to go to the beach, but sad to hear about your friend's daughter..
Goats, it is good to hear Terra is responding to the Flagyl. Family is ready for a dog, but I am not yet. Big commitment. I would get one right away if I didn't have to work( even though it's part time.
Ms, Sas, no rx for tinnitus. What I meant was homeopathics and supplements like COQ10.
Ms. CHEVY, it always throw me off when I tune in and don't see your post first thing in the morning.
Ms. Spookie, send your rain here so you won't hurt too much.
0 -
I would love to send this rain your way!
Marley, Florida didn't do it! Blame that hurricane off Mexican coast, or ElNino.
It's our Rainey season, but it still sucks.
0 -
Spookie--we'll take it! From some reports, the El Niño is going to be as strong as 1997. I remember dispatching firefighters with jet skis to rescue people trapped in their cars in intersections and east winds with level 1 hurricane strength. Fun times--busy makes the day go by fast!
Loverly--I've taken CoQ10 for a decade because of my prolactinoma and only had Meniere's for about the last two years. I have very little tinnitus so I wonder if that's because of the supplement. Hmmm. Interesting
0 -
Yes, they are saying this is going to be a strong ElNino. 97 was horrible here. The up side for us is it tends to suppress hurricanes here. No guarantees though.
I drove a lift bus that year. Actually bought a rain suit. Nothing like loading a chair in buckets of rain, trying to keep kid and chair dry, while bus aid moves slower than molasses in January. Fun times. Retirement is good!
