I love each and every one of you. Compassionate and strong. I get scared when I seeyself failing; it happens so fast sometimes. The curves this disease throws knocks me and my people off their feet. I hate it. I'm reading to catch up.

Just wondering I'm 5 months post dx...boobs, lymph nodes, hair, all dead. 55. Anyone here just ever break down and sob for no apparent reason? Anyone here feel so ugly that you know you are the beast...and not even close to the beauty...just wondering...if I'm the only sissy, hate myself because I have to live, ......and, for the 1st time, out of words...but I don't need words if you get this....sorry, but this time of night, where do you go?

welcome december - you will get a lot of response on this thread - it's my favorite. be gentle with yourself and allow tears to fall anytime. cancer is scary and it takes awhile to tame the beast. i've always been sympathetic and empathetic but find i am even more so since i was diagnosed.

December--it is scary. At first, I had crying jags but mostly now it's when people in my life show me support I.e. anyone hugs me and I lose it. I'm only 3 and a half months into this crazy journey but the ladies on this thread share a common crazy, irreverent sense of humor (Loveroflife will try to convince you that she's the saneone!) and they have kept me truly sane. They are full of laughter and love. The humor helps a lot. I've started referring to myself as Uncle Fester, especially after each round of chemo when I get dark circles so deep around my eyes that I look like a raccoon. Humor has a way of lessening the power of the bad. So come on in, embrace the bald and feel beautiful!

RonnieKay--very crappy bedside manner but in my experience, very sadly true. I've lost 5 maternal aunts and uncles to this beast called cancer as well as apaternal uncle. One uncle was undergoing treatment for stomach cancer, was told on a Friday afternoon that it had spread and he was gone by 5 AM Sunday. One aunt I had dinner with on a Saturday and she was gone 7 days later. Personally, I suspect that my mother and another aunt, both RN's, knowing how much pain their sister was in (lung cancer with mets to her spine that cracked vertebrae) may have helped her on her journey with the liquid morphine her MO prescribed.
But enough serious stuff.

Here we are again another early Saturday morning, up early with my precious kitten Princess! Little bugger has to wake her mommy up at 5 a.m. no matter what day it is! Oh well, at least she is quietly sitting in a window watching for the birds. Going to get up in a few a make me my daily cup of wake up and get moving!

Welcome December. I'm surprised Ms. Chevy hasn't changed your name yet. She is like a mom to most of us. Warning: watch your grammar. She got our editor,aka Queenie, a few days ago. I think she gave up on correcting me along time ago. I noticed you were talking to yourself last night. It's ok. I did that when I first joined too-couldn't sleep because of post-op pain and I was rambling away as if I was on a stimulant. It was a paradoxical reaction to Norco. Rose thought they discharged me from the hospital with Amphetamine or something. Don't believe Marlana. She is the mischievous one.
Ms Sas, I showed the video of the lady in the blue mask whose reflection startles her to both of my DD. Dd1 got a good laugh from it. Her words, " I have to be honest, I have scared myself a few times like that lady.

Rosie, don't listen to Goodie, if someone doesn't die it can't be a wake. Otherwise, it's just an ordinary regular day.The irish or rather the American and Canadian Irish of my line have standards. Wakes, Christenings, graduations,Weddings, fourth of July, July 1st, Cinco de Mayo,all national holidays, Mondays and Fridays., Tues. and Saturdays. Rest on wed and Sunday. large family--90 first cousins, aunts and uncles and 60 second cousins aunts and uncles. now that's a party.
I had a first cousin marry a Mexican national. He called our family the rabbit family. All good Catholics they were.

December: sympathies. Worries always seem worse in the silent depths of the night. Stress gives me insomnia/sleep disturbances like whoa, and I've been struggling to reset my sleep/wake cycle since surgery #1....starting with the flock of nocturnal Clamoring Whatifs
