French fry, I hated taxotere , sympathize with you girlfriend. Did some damage to my left lung. 7 months post, I think it's inflating better now . It's a tuffy. Best of luck and prayers your way to get through that one. I love the one I am on now. Hope I can stay on it for a long time.only have one bad week out of 4. That's great for chemoLand

I had 6 Taxotere treatments, one every three weeks. Can we say I was glad when it was over. Never felt so icky in my life as I did then!

WoW Smarrty, You will have a DGGC before my DS get's around to having a child. I remember my Mom commiserating about the same thing around my age now. One of her SIL's was 6 months older and had 26(+ -) grand kids. SIL had more eventually, not sure of the total. They were part of the rabbit family. Mom had no grands. Eventually two. Love the idea though of mutigenerational families. Am I wrong you have six grands? With the Ireland trip, do you have family there? I was looking something else up about tea. Came across a trivial pursuit thought. Ireland consumes more tea than anywhere else except Turkey. Tea shops all over Ireland. I would have thought England consumed more.

Sassy - I am the worst at not knowing my T scores. Never thought to get copies - the older ones are with gyn, 2012 & 2014 with MO. Probably the only thing in this hot mess I don't have a copy of. I'm tolerating the Fosamax. GERD is about the same. I have one refill left on Fos. Wonder if MO's nurse will catch that I'm supposed to be on the Prolia they never called me about. Oh well - like I said I'm waiting until April bone density results. Can't beat $3.99/month for Fos. I am pretty sure DH's insurance is changing drastically, I bet to high deductible. For some unknown reason last week HR gave them last year's insurance PDF download - huge file. My suspicion is because so many will gripe when they see 2016 plan and will want to know what 2014-2015 plan was. They are in 2nd year of 2 yr contract. Don't want to be 2 years older but sure wish I had Medicare.
Boyd - sorry you have to be a part of this body of work but all questions/concerns are valid and welcome. We are a varied bunch from longer ago treatment to a few stage IV ladies. If you don't mind a bit of vernacular I think the certified letter is a CYA kinda thing. They can prove they told you esp. is there is a traceback on it. I've not had that. The call back I had was a phone call and a letter after a routine yearly screening mammo. I went back nonchalantly on my way to work - and ended up having a biopsy later in the morning. I think I only got a routine kinda sounding letter on the biopsy results (need to see surgeon thing) but had certainly already spoken to the radiologist who did it. And like Queenie I only found BCO when I was home on medical leave after surgery. Congrats on getting a jump on things. Stay with us.
Frey - you are super woman. Keep telling yourself that but even super woman is allowed to feel lousy and ask for help.
Smaarty - surely see resemblance with DGD most esp. with week 9 picture. Congrats. Wasn't it your sister that just had a grandbaby or was it great-grand? I love your lost mind post. I need it for my lost thoughts too.

DH gone to get his loopy root canal tooth redrilled. I for sure want no part of that lol. Hoping dentist only puts temp. on to make sure infection is gone. Have laundry up and going. Kinda expecting electricity warnings today.
Maybe Ireland is colder than England reason for more tea shops?

these are my sisters Gbabies. From 10 to newborn. Only one girl in the bunch! I'm hoping we have a girl from DGD. Need to fix the averages. It's to bad that I don't like tea. Maybe I'll find something when I'm there.

Sisters of the night,
New to the board new to stage IV and new to generally an entirely changed life. It's so nice to see all of the support and camaraderie in this brightly lit room. I've never been a good sleeper - even as a little girl, the morning seemed to far away and my feet would hit the floor far earlier than anyone else in my house. What a weird change of fate to have sleep robbed by the anxiety and medications and the side effects of the diagnosis and the treatments.
Sleep covers me like plaster on a wall but only every other night. Shear exhaustion. My oncologist prescribed some gawdaful pill for my night sweats - more like night soaks - and I was on the floor all day with awful headaches and dizziness. However, the insomnia adds to the frustrations and the isolation in this intensely exciting new life experince called metastatic breast cancer. Why? Well, I cannot and should not drive while not under the influence of sleep. I feel like a drunk driver.
Enough bitching. Going to have a chai tea, my English muffin and wait until my husband yawns and asks sweetly for breakfast. I hope to get more engaged on this board and thank you for letting me participate.

And this is what is almost finished! The neighbors have STILL not done a thing out there.... probably won't either...

Frenchfrey, even though I had my taxotere with adriamycin and Cytoxan, I knew which were the specifically taxotere SEs because MO pointed them out. Unfortunately it's the gift that keeps giving. Mostly annoying now, drippy nose & eyes. Nose drips especially when I'm eating, most embarrassing. Eyes leak. Weird sensation. Seeing eye doc tomorrow, losing sight quickly in my right eye. I'm 10 months out from last chemo, 5 months from rads.
Ilene, welcome to the club no one wants to join. You will find someone here almost any time of day. Sleep is a terrible master, denying its affection when we most need it. I too have struggled with it all my life, sometimes going weeks without being able to fall asleep. That will about make one suicidal.
I see MO this afternoon for 3 month check, and PCP Thursday, and this time they've coordinated so I only need I blood draw. PCP is in the new family clinic at the cancer center, and I switched to her so I could have blood drawn through port at infusion center. I told everyone I've kept my port because my veins are so bad, and they've been blown the last several times I got poked, but that's only half the picture. Realistically, I've got a considerable chance of recurrence/progression, and I'm mentally prepared for that. But of course I can't say that out loud. You all know.

Mags, my port has been in 3 years and I want to keep it. I give anybody who hassles me about it crossed fingers like BACK VAMPIRE. Like you, I'm high risk. Where they going to install a new one? More copays, more infection, more surgery. No thanks. Blood draws are much easier too.

Boyd, My guess is that the letters were certified to insure medical privacy. My advice is to get and keep a copy of all reports. Even if it's nothing, having that might be useful in the future if there are further questions. I'm lucky enough to have computer access to my medical record. I went back to look up terms I'd never heard before.

Smarty- your DGD is lovely and hoping all goes well. I have a good friend who did IVF and know it is a hard road to get to the pregnancy. She has an almost 10 year old son and two 8 year old twin girls now. It all worked out so well, and wishing the same for your GD.
And I love the grandchildren line up. Pass me that newborn, he/she is a cutie!

Mads, my eyes and nose still run post7 months. But only on left side right now. Don't know if it will ever stop. Got Kleenex stuck in clothes everywhere. Feel like an old grandma with the tissues hanging out lol. But it can come on suddenly and you got to be ready.
Welcome llene, I am almost 4 years with stage iv and still going strong. Chemo lifer, but doing well. I had to go on sleeping pills. 3 mg, of lunesta, sleep through the night and wake up wonderfully refreshed

LCalled the radiology department that did my mammogram they told me theonly letters they send are the ones saying it's time for your mammogram. They said they are not sure why it was sent unless the radiologist felt it needed to be and had it sent but it is not usually done. 😁

Boyd, don't read into that. Perhaps the radiologist felt that you were blocking what he was trying to say. Like a deer in the headlights. Fear can do screwy things to us. This waiting is the worst. Serious suggestion learned in the early days of EMS--1970's and 1980. Do some physical exercise. Not and exerciser. You can power walk without training. Maybe clean the house like it's the day before Christmas and everyone's coming to your house. Wash windows. Row a boat if you are in Tampa. Key is to work up a sweat. Produces endorphins. Endrophins do very nice things to and for a brain. ESPECIALLY under stress. Do it, Chickie! We can't help you through this if you don't take the advice we give you. Big hugs, sassy

Welcome Boyd !! It is hard not to worry. Exercise really helped me stay sane (be quiet Marlana...I can hear you). Cleaning my house and playing badminton (besides praying) really helped me to redirect my anxiety to doing something positive and healthy. You just need to find what works for you. Worrying will only make things worse and only contributes to more health problems.

Nope, have not packed yet Ms. Sas! I am an ADD OCD procrastinator. Need to have my house cleaned first. I know I have my priorities backward, but I like to have a clean house to come back to after any trips. Weird I know.
Ms Smaarty-lovely GD, grand niece and nephews. Like Jazzy, I will take the little one...love babies. Love how newborns smell. People usually give me a weird look whenever I try to smell their babies so I try to do it discreetly now.
Ms CHEVY- your side of the parking space looks much cleaner now. Wow..lots of work for you. You should be able to charge somebody. Ha!

As I was reading your and Marlana's posts about your summer childhood memories-eating ice cream on the porch, hearing cicada singing, catching fireflies, it brought back my good childhood memories too...except now I can't seem to remove the cicadas from my ears. Exercise is really difficult for me, I have degenerative disk disease and joint problems. I did take make girls swimming a few times since though. However I didn't wear sun block and ended up getting a tan on my face, the only problem is that for some unknown reason it came out blotchy and spotted. My doctor looked at it yesterday and the only thing he can figure is that it is caused by hormone issues. The nurse said her face did that when she was pregnant because of hormone production which is the only time the doctor has seen it also. There is no possible way I am pregnant so apparently my hormone production levels are off. He said it may or may not be related to the whole breast issues. Anyone else have this problem?
