My niece is growing tomatoes fantastic tomatoes, for which we are very grateful. No I would have a horrible mess if I tried shrooms.

I'm not really sure what to talk about here. I only know I am very behind on all my pages. I'm going to have a head mri on Saturday I just seem to be very confused and dizzy and doing an awful lot of talking to myself:baically my normal but geez people want to pay all kinds of attention to these symptoms. I guess it will be good to get this good at.I guess it will be to get your replies, but I am so far behind I have no idea how long it might take me to catch up though. Geez. TTYL.

Yes Loverly, I LOVE the pictures! Sorry about your Mom... Sounds like this is going to be just an ongoing thing...... My Grandma was doing this.... and no, you can't get mad, or even scold them, because they don't mean to...... My Grandma would call me like 5 times in a row, not remembering the time before...

I finally had to have her phone taken out......... but she just was going through this dementia/alzhiemers stuff, and I just had to give up, trying to figure it out, and accept it..... Tain't easy kid....... But I'm just saying, enjoy her life as long as you can. My Grandma was in Assisted Living at the time, so wasn't alone... Is your Mom okay to drive? If she isn't sleeping, and is forgetful, maybe too much going on for her right now...

I hopw I know when I should not drive anymore.... Are there other people or resources to help out with things she needs?

Okay Peppermint! WTH? You go having surgery, without us even knowing? But maybe that's better than if we DID know! At least it is over, and you sound normal!

Dunes, where does your Sister live? My tomatoes are not GOOD this year! Just too much COLD to begin with, then the blistering HOT of this Summer! I think they were confused, and finally just thought, Oh forget it!

No, no more perrenials... just cleaning up stuff now... Going to go out and scrape, and throw in grass seed in the bare-spots, and cover with soil-mix.

I forgot.... Hey Dunes.... don't worry about catching up... when I do, I just forget it anyway... pretend you know what is going on...Loopy You say you are having problems? DAMN! Now we don't want you wandering around being dizzy, AND confused.... One or the other.... but not both at the same time! Maybe you have something going on in your inner ears? But confused? I'm just glad you are getting it checked out!!!!

It's only 52 degrees out...! Not light yet.... but as soon as it is, I am OUT there... gotta get busy.... xoxoxo

LilGoats, thanks put it in my favs on the storm tracker. So, don't want to do a lay in of supplies.

Frenchie, you haven't been in a hurricane yet have you? If you need a place to run to, I'm about 5 hours north right off 95. Get a copy of you chemo protocol and ask you docs what paper work you will need if you have to evacuate.

Patty how you doing today? That was a chit load of work. Feeling better? How are the boys n school?

Frey, depends on where it goes. I'm on the west coast an hour west of Tampa. You are more than welcome to come here if you'd like. Shoot over Alligator Alley, then north on 75.

Zills, the crock pot. Used to do the browning before, now I don't. I see no difference, accept less work and clean up.. I have the Rival Smart Crock pot. Big. Time adjustment 4-6-8-10 hours. I use a 32-48 oz. swansons or college in broth. Let it warm up on the 4hr setting with the herbs, Diced onion, diced bella mushrooms(variable), diced celery in it for 1/2 to 1 hour. Then plop the meat in toss in the potatoes usually a mix. Yukon, red, white, and some carrots. Then add whole onions and whole mushrooms a few hours later. Total cook time 6-8. Tried making dumplings awhile back. Could have put in a double recipe. Devine, almost like my Mom's.

Spices--variable, it's a what's in the cupboard approach. This sounds good, and that , and some of that. I tend to use allot b/c my taste and smell threshold is high. DBF likes it that way too, so, it works for both of us. Making chicken right now. Bay leaf, thyme, marjoram, rosemary, garlic, paprika, rubbed sage, poultry seasoning, pepper, Worchester, basil, and parsely. Salt balanced at the end. Going to add corn on the cob and some diced plum tomatoes later simply b/c they were in the frig. Remember refrigerator soup?

With beef I reduce the broth a bit and add a can or two of Campbell's Beefy Mushroom. Very high on flavor.

I found the Rival cookbook on the shelf awhile ago. Oddles of delish recipes.

Writing this I said "wait I can go get it started". It's chicken. I'll make dumplings tonight.

Ireland update: tomorrow we leave Kinsale, Southern Ireland. We went on a short walking tour yesterday and a harbor cruise, short ride. Today we rented a driver with car and he took us around Kinsale and a couple neighboring towns. So pics are the harbor from our hotel.

Did someone say Tim Tams? The world's best choccie biscuit. The Aussie way is to bite off each end and the suck your coffee through it as if it was a straw. Had a Tim Tam Cheescake recipe posted to my Facebook today. Will try to copy the link.

Sas, your hilarious rain dance resulted in precipitation in the West......of Australia lol. We have had a non winter during our official winter season, but the past 36 hours we've had windy squalls and rain just like winter should be. THANK YOU !!!

In answer to your question a few pages back, the barrier reef is on the east coast. On the west coast We have the less well known Ningaloo Reef which is famous for the giant, gentle whale sharks. Swimming with them is a big tourist attraction.

I have started the next phase of treatment this week.....tissue expansion. My ps doubled the size of my lat dorsi recon overnight. Oh boy.....I was in a lot of pain, but I am doing well now. I am expecting my third surgery in a few weeks so after a run of infection and necrosis, I am trying to get into best shape possible before we go in to finish the job.

Love the garden pics Chevy. I love garden ornaments and sculptures and can see you do too.

And Dunes......there is no way I can keep up with this thread between surgery brain and the speed at which these gals love to chat. I just jump in every now and then and hope I make sense.

Pattie - first opportunity to say hello, so G'day from downunder. I have seen a bit of your story when I was lurking. I hope you are feeling more comfortable right now.

To those going through yet another combination of treatment, instead of hugs, tonight I am sending respect. You amaze me. As do those of you who have decided no more treatment. I am humbled by my interaction with you all.

but like everyone else on this thread, I love a bit of irreverence too, so keep up the good work with the funnies and the slightly random wandering through the mysteries of life, the universe and everything 😀

    Soup's on :)

Loverly, love the puppy and horse pic. They will be buds forever. So sweet. Finally dried out here. Rained almost since I did the rain dance. It was even sun shinning and raining.

Susan the waiter does need an attitude readjustment.

Jazzy, Ouch. repairs are out of sight.

Loverly, After early experiences of locking my keys in my car even with it running. I made what I call my chaos chain. Nice dressy long chain with a car key on it. dressy b/c you wouldn't think a key was on the other end. I then put the key end down my shirt. Saved my tush more then once.

JACFIN SHARKS you swim with sharks. Any surmising why they are gentle? Can you pic them? Surprised we haven't imported them. Ningaloo reef. Everything as an oo on the end. Is it from the indigenous folks? Jac check out the Toradol thread if you are having surgery :) Nice cake can taste it :)

Chevy, Queenie, Marley, 2, Gypsy, Jwoo, HnS, G, Mema, Mags, Dutchy, sorry if I forgot anyone.

This is not me, but a brave tourist off the Ningaloo reef, Western Australia, swimming with a whale shark. There is a big tourist industry built off the reef which is within a bull's roar of a USA naval base in Exmouth. My dear SIL married a young US sailor who she met in Exmouth and so I have three lovely nephews and nieces who hail from Crookston Minnesota. About as far away from Exmouth, or Perth, as you could be.

All the "oo"s and "ups" are definitely from the indigenous languages. I currently live in a suburb called Karrinyup. I used to live in a suburb called Joondalup. Ironically, "ups" are usually found in the southern part of Western Australia (State name) and the "oos" are found in the north

Jac why do we (USA) have a base in Australia? AND why are you up so late. It's the middle of the night there isn't it? How many sibs? Do you get to see here often? Is he still in the service?
