I am bushed, but I wanted to check in and say Hi to my fellow insomniacs. Hope everyone is doing well this Friday night.

Why are you bushed? Rough day at work?

Glennie, you are so bad!! Robin Hood bad.
Pawpaw, it's sad that insurance company is able to dictate how doctors should take care of their patients. I understand the need to be cost effective, but at the patient's expense? Seems criminal. Need to be persistent in appealing and hope that the prior authorization request falls in the right hands. I'm sorry for your stress

Hello to all,
Hard to keep up with you all....
I have missed too much to catch up with all the chit chat.
Spookie, happy Kris is safe, with clean teeth.......lol....
Rose, loved your DD beautiful dress. Great job!
Ditto to Smaarty & the black & white quilting sq.
Mamma Ray......a cruise, what fun... Glad you got some alone time with DH...
Paw, hoping all the scary liver stuff is just a lump of fat, like Sasafras fatty liver. Don't we all have fatty livers as we age?
Sas, I have tried to post several times recently and poof, it's gone. Internet fails. Makes me growl. Have you been thrifting lately?
Winter is here, snow, wind & more snow on the way. Another growl. Hard to be cold all the time....I will adjust.
Hugs to all....

LilPaws... Did anyone say anything about "Carcinoid" ??? A relative in DH's family has "Carcinoid Syndrome"... His liver was involved......
Does this sound familiar? http://www.webmd.com/cancer/features/what-is-carci...
Anyway he found this out about 10 years ago..and something you said, made me think of this...He has been treated successfully for about 10 years now.... and doing okay! Sorry about the Insurance problems... hope you get some answers!
Went to see that feisty little Theresa yesterday.... What a fun visit! We stayed for about an hour, then her room-mate came back from having her nails done, and we left.....but we laughed, and talked, and it was like 2 weeks just GONE from her life...... She doesn't remember anything... So it was fun just picking up from where we left off!
Only 27 degrees out! You know, I just can't go outdoors anymore and fool around out in the yard!
Got up early because DH had to RUN to the bathroom... I SWEAR if it isn't ONE thing, it's the OTHER! If he would eat right, meaning any form of fruits or vegetables, or limit his snacks and sweets to a minimum, it might HELP! But it's like his insides don't work by themselves anymore, or I mean like they should... So he takes this for one thing, then something else for the other!
No matter what I cook, or say, it's always "I can't eat that, or that bothers my stomach, or that doesn't agree with me" So I just go ahead and fix what he will eat... meaning hot-dogs, or hamburgers with fries (the frozen ones) Once in awhile a 1/2 of a baked sweet-potato... No CHEESE for dogs sakes! No milk products, unless it's 1/2 C in his cereal.... He loves BREAD & pies & cup-cakes, pretzels, cookies, chips and I just give up. Your body just won't work right, when your diet doesn't include fruits or vegetables... "can't eat corn".... Maybe 3 grapes, or a small piece of watermelon... No other fruits... Maybe 1/2 a banana every other day....
Yes he has lost weight... drinks lots of water, along with maybe 3 beers a day...but can't do anything about it... I cook good stuff... but I have given up trying to help... Older men will not listen to anyone telling them what they should be doing or eating.

MORNING OWLIES, I have coffee
It's great. Few problems to begin with, but falls under the category "If all else fails read the instructions".To all who offered sympathies re: my post MRI pain. Still going on, but changing. Feels similar to the way my head felt after craniotomy. Always sumpin.
Hi HI1, yes, I found a retro chair. Tried to find it on the internet, but wasn't able to locate an exact piece. I did however find what it's class is, "slipper chair". Always have seen them, didn't ever think it a particular class." Definition of SLIPPER CHAIR. : an armless upholstered chair with short legs.". The legs are shorter than a dining room table chair. Originally used in the boudoir as a women's dressing chair. Then later into other rooms when crinolins were common. Now used when a regular chair is too big for a space. Hope DS likes it.
, but kind of prepared for him to NOT like it. How's the new house? Shoulder? DH's problem? DS & DD?0 -
Paws, In 1996 when insurance wasn't going to cover my hyster and BSO I said " just enter into the record, that my physician has recommended this procedure b/c my identical twin has ER+ BC, if I show up with ER+ BC after Wed, you are responsible for failure to follow your (network) physician recommendations". It worked, coverage was approved the next day. In your appeal, put in a variation of that statement.....................
Following a different thought. An unknown origin of a tumor was it metastatic or primary? Primary liver tumors aren't controlled by tamox or AI's or Herceptin. Metastatic BC tumors are (can be). In this situation all your docs can't definitively say what the origin of the tumor is. Don't want to make you crazy, sorry if this does. If the tamox has kept the tumor from growing and the tumor grows after being off Tamox, they're is no absolute answer that the reintroduction of the drug will control the tumor growth. Hate to bring that up, but it should be considered by you & your docs determination of discontinuation. Analogy once the barn door is open, can it be closed?

Loveroflife: yeah, I am Robin Hood bad. Seen too many people fall thru the cracks in health care,, and I don't like it. Congressmen and Senators can serve one term and get free health care for life. Where is the justice with that?

Hi HI1, how is the new place?pics?
Ms. Sas, I wonder if the pain is as a result of a shift in fluid caused by strong magnets used in MRI. You know that the body is made up of approximately 60-70% of fluid. Same concept with the high and low tide caused by the moon influence on the earth's magnetic fields. If that is the case, then would increasing in fluid help with the headache?
Glennie, yeah, I have seen the injustice too. I used to work with the medically indigents and every so often I sawvets and self-employed people fell through the cracks...very very sad

Sas tune in the Weather Channel and your local. You may be in for some rain and high surf. Or more.
0 -
Sassy- I hope you are feeling better. Sounds like you may be getting some weather today?
0 -
possibly the next 5 days. Yuck. Season is "supposed" to be over.
0 -
in Orlando for the weekend. it is sooooo humid.
0 -
what's up with the weather--still aproblem? can't get any decent up date
0 -
SAS, there is a system east of Bermuda that is projected to get a bit closer to you, then up the east coast. Try the Weather Channel on your puter Kindle. Or Natl Weather Service.
Jwoo why didn't you tell Sas and I you were coming to Orlando? We'd come for lunch!! How long will you be here? Maybe we still can
0 -
it is very, very, very humid. It sprinkled earlier. now- just steamy.
0 -
Talk about weather....at breakfast this morning, I made a comment about how the rain must be on its way because my hip was (still is) sore. DD2 said we don't need technology to inform us about the weather because we have mom's hip to predict the weather.....smart Alex!!
Ms. CHEVY, did you tease Ms. Theresa about her running down the hall way naked? Happy for you that you have your beloved friend back.
How is the headache, Ms. Sas? Just curious what does craniotomy pain feels like
0 -
not typical for Nov. usually around 80, less humid.

This is for Chevy. And everyone else who has a guy in their life.

Just saw your question from last night, Loverly. I've been having trouble sleeping comfortably. As my incisions heal, I seem to be moving around more in my sleep, and sometimes when I wake up I've been in a position that makes the SNB incision under my arm pull and hurt. I had to get up in the middle of the night and get some extra pillows and rearrange myself so that I could prop my arm on the pillows so I couldn't put my arm in a position that would end up hurting.
Does anybody else have cancer dreams? Honestly, this should be the one escape from thinking about it, but it's all I dream about anymore.
Chevy, I'm so glad to hear about your visit with Theresa.
Sas, hope you are feeling better.
Mags, that photo made me laugh. So true!

Aw, sorry Cubbie. It's hard when we are so used to sleeping in a certain position. I sleep on my left side in a fetal position and wake up with pain/spasm in my left arm most nights (had MX and delayed reconstruction on left). I started out sleeping on my right side and always end up on the left in the middle of the night. No fun! You had surgery not too long ago so hopefully the pain is short lived. Healing for MX is quicker than recon for me. Sorry you have to return back to work so soon...tough when you don't get enough rest at night.
Good one Mag. Mine is stubborn too, Ms. CHEVY.

Cubie- the snb incisions bothered me for a long time. Sorry they are causing you sleeping problems. I spent many months sleeping on my back with pillows on each side for a long time.
I don't have cancer dreams. During my whole treatment process, I stopped dreaming at all. I am vivid dreamer and it was like my subconscious went blank. My guess is you are processing a lot of what you have been through via your dreams.
I hope you can sleep better soon. It is why we all call ourselves the Insomniacs.

Thanks everyone about the head. PCP thinks it's my neck. The hyperextension for too long. Definitely TMJ explanation and facial numbness, maybe forehead. Feels like a very tight bathing cap. Migratory. Pain where it's been numb since crani. Headache. migratory. Frequent optic migraines. Nasty golf ball in center of head twisting in. Someone slicing down the center of my brain. Two fists at temple twisting and boring in. Back of head pressure like two hands squezzing . Word finding. Trouble completing sentences. Not thinking right. Eyes not tearing right. Periodic stabbing squessing migratory pain. But improving this morning.

Cubbie, I agree with Jazzy that you are working it through. I don't like bad dreams. I have worked out over time to make myself wake up. Think " I'm outta here". Then don't think about the dream. Unless of course you want to figure out what you are trying to work out. Then sit quietly at the side of bed and think. Besides an army of pillows, change sides of the bed. For an unknown reason people turn to the outside of the bed. For regular folks this recommended to be done on a standard basis any way every 3 months. Helps if you have a spine problem
Spookie weather still bad?

Sassy! Oh EEeeeeeeeks! What you said, made MY head hurt! And I don't have a clue about anything you said... Just hope you are better... Your BRAIN is top-notch I might add!
Only 27 degrees here.... just plain cold.
