Trejoli sorry you are sick. Missed you. What's up besides your temp? We haven't seen you in months. I loved it when ya'll were talking in so many languages. Tres saw where you've called--good. Nasty bug going around. Viral, but if you haven't had the pneumonia vaccines it can very quickly be a set up for a secondary bacterial thingy.

Had a great day thrifting. More glasses for Di to match the Claudia I already gave her. More Windsor for Nikki if I'm ever going to get her the rest. It's worked it's way up to a full service. Probably 30 pieces now. More Wexford for me.

went to see the MO. She says " this is a PCP thing". Ummm....then why when I told you about it did you tell me to call you back at noon and bring me in for labs? By the time I called my PCP she's booked til Wednesday. I now have an appointment at 4:30 tomorrow with mr. no name...meanwhile my temp is now up to 101.2. Good times....

tres - that just sucks. My oncologist is who I see for almost everything. I rarely see my GP. My oncologist certainly knows more about what is going on with me then my GP. I know mo always has to call if the fever is over 101. Now you have to wait till tomorrow? Boo.

At least I got a good laugh at myself today. I didn't sleep last night. So today I fell asleep hard especially with the pain medicine. I woke up and I drooled all over my hair. I grabbed my hair brush I'm trying to get out of my face but I had it upside down. Bristle side up. Couldn't figure out why I couldn't feel my hair. Took me probably a complete minute to figure out I wasn't truly bald. Oh yeah I did that with my adult diaper on. This I used all of my clothes in diarrhea accident. Any idea how hard it is to a diaper yourself? Let me tell you it's not easy. Was very thankful when my husband brought me some more clothes. Honey what we can find to be thankful for if we just look around.

They have an office here, not too far from where we live, for when they have to come to Colo. and help out these bail bondsmen! I have never run into them though.... but a lot of the places are familiar......
So can't you buy those pull-up ones? They sent me a sample, but I gave them to Theresa.... Also, can you buy regular Kotex pads and use them in your panties? Or even old towels? Just cut them to size, and throw them away when you need to...

Today is the day my housecleaner was supposed to come. She comes every other Monday. She called yesterday afternoon. This woman is a train wreck. I mean, she's a nice lady, a little loud for my taste, and she will not shut up, but she's an accident magnet. I feel bad for her. Her husband has a TBI from an accident years ago, and is on disability, and she cleans houses and demos at the upscale grocery store. So Wednesday night she had finished demoing and everyone was in a rush to close the store. This store hires mentally challenged youngsters to help out, and one of them had a rack of grocery carts and rammed right into her. She ended up at the ER having X-rays etc but since it was the night before a holiday, no MRI tech on hand. So she called yesterday to tell me that she didn't know what time she would come because she was supposed to call about getting an MRI. So I'm sitting there letting her talk, just saying uh huh and yes and stuff. I swear she will not stop talking, she has to tell me everything. So finally I get off the phone, and DH is sitting there on the couch. "Who was it?" "Susan. Who did you think it was?" "I thought maybe a doctor calling." Holy cow! "Why would a doctor call me on a Sunday afternoon, when I haven't even been to a doctor in a month?"
This cancer is going to kill him. He is carrying around this fear, this terror that I'm going to have a recurrence and it's going to kill me. Well, that may happen, but he's going to waste the time I have. I know he's getting sick again - his liver - he's sleeping all the time, in the den with the tv on. He took off Wednesday and today and I swear he's slept 18 hours a day all 6 days. And if I say anything he gets mad.
By the way, my housekeeper never made it, she was at the hospital most of the day getting her MRI. So she's coming Thursday. Oh, and her hubby went out to get the mail and slipped on the ice and hit his head. Again. 2nd time this year. Train wreck.
Sorry about the puppies, ladies, we've had 5 of them who have lived past 15, and only one died at home in his sleep. Somehow that's easier. You always wonder. DH took big dog to the vet today, confirmed he's going deaf. He was a rescue, so we don't really know how old he is, but around 9 or so. He has these little twitches, so he's going back on the phenobarbitol again. Sad. He's a sweety, and Rose's best bud.
Rosie and Patty and Tresjolie, please take care of yourselves. And whoever I missed.

Mostlymom, Jessie reminds me of my dog when I was a kid - such similar markings. I took him on his final trip to the vet when I was 17. Never have had another dog. It's so hard to have pets, their lives are so short.

Tres, I hope they have a cancelled morning appointment so that you can be seen sooner. It doesn't make sense that your MO deferred the problem to your PCP.
Ms. Sas and Cubbie, I love the moment captured in the pic of the baby and dog. And the lighting is just perfect.
Jazzy, yay for the new contract!! I can't imagine being my own boss or bidding for contract because I am not assertive at all.

We got home close to midnight. I miss my bed. Trying to fall asleep, but it sounds like I have millions of cicadas singing in my ears...darn tinnitus!Need to take mom in tomorrow for surgery to have cyst removed from her neck. I need another vacation to recover from my vacation
Good thing I cleaned my house before we left. Just need to do grocery, laundry(thank God for washer n dryer), and take care of mom after surgery among other things.

The nurse came to wake me up a couple hours ago. I was in a deep sleep. She scared the poop out of me literally. I screamed which made her jerk ad nearly pull my iv out.

Mags- wow about the cleaning lady. I have a cleaning service (Molly Maids) and they just come in, do their thing and leave. Hard to listen to all that drama when you just need the help with the cleaning.
Your husband sounds like he has some PTSD from watching all you went through the with the cancer treatment. I know those who love us are so afraid of loosing us from this disease. We all do the treatment they recommend and hope it keeps the stuff away. There are no guarantees for any of us, nor are there that something else won't happen to us too. I am three years out and grateful for every day.

Oh Mags, sorry.... Jazzy is right.... Some things get stuck in our Husbands heads, and it's sometimes harder for them to cope, than for us.....
My neighbor.... (the chicken neighbor's) clean the house before the house cleaners come.... Ha! I have seen their house both ways... like before and after... Their house is so BARE... but their wooden floors are just so old and funny looking..... And they have a wooden picnic-table in the "dining-room" part... with benches.... One sofa, and one chair.... and a throw-rug.... One TV on a stand.... and that's it! Just not very "homey"...
Their two little girls "live" on their sofa.... never going outdoors to play..... In fact our neighborhood has no children in it! When ours were growing up here, there were kids all over.... always outside playing! I think .... no wait..... I know we are the oldest ones around! Most neighbors are under 40.... and no little kids.....except little Ivy and Ellie, next door.

Chevy - oh my sweet Chevy. You brought happy tears to my eyes. Some days i just lurk on this thread but don't post because heck I get tired of hearing myself complain I'm sure you guys do too. But I still love to come and here what ya up to. I love so many of you like family. Well actually better than some of my family. Actually I've learned so much from you and sas snd so many other people here. I wish I could reach out and give you a big ol hug. Actually I wish all of us could meet up. Come on lottery win!!! I am NOT a Big Pink Floyd fan. But like them better when I was younger. Those guys must have been on some serious drugs to make up those lyrics. You are so right about kids not playing outside these days. We live in the country and my boys are country boys. Fishing, hunting, four wheeler riding, playing tag outside. I personally think it's just a matter of laziness for the parents. So easy to put them in front of a game or a TV and not have to deal with them. What the heck? No wonder so many young people today don't know how to properly look at person in the eye, give a firm handshake, or even hold that much of a conversation. Well unless its a text. It's like our young people, can't just wait in line for a few minutes without something to occupy their hands.

I got a CT scan last night to see if my ibrance and falsodex combo has been working. Kind of anxious to hear from the doctor. Praying for no progression and even some healing. Today I've been watching The Waltons. I just love those old shows the Waltons, Little House on the Prairie. Thought I had seen them all. But I guess not. This Episode had a different mom and a different grandpa and a few other characters I had never seen. Do you remember if there was a series with the other actors? Or was it just the pilot run? Well one positive thing about this short term memory loss thing I have going on, is that I can watch the same show read the same book over and over again and still be surprised at the end.

Hootie hoo Patty! I'm here. DH is home yet again, in his lounge pants, watching tv. I don't know what I'm going to do with that boy. He says he has "use it or lose it" time at work, so I guess it's ok but this is the guy who comes home from work and spends the evening answering emails, so this is totally not normal.
I know that part of the issue is the fact that we've never had anyone close actually survive their cancer. His mom, my brother-in-law, his uncle, my 3 uncles and one aunt, all of them just wasted and died. His uncle had a few years remission but then he died too. So his fear is overwhelming. As for me, I don't fear it, I'm doing what my MO said to: live your life as if it were coming back tomorrow. Maybe that's what DH is doing, but in a different way
I've used Molly Maids before, Jazzy, and they are good but charge about 3 times as much as Susan. So I guess getting my ear talked off is the price I pay for being cheap.

mags. Some time off work to hang with you might be just what your dh needs. There are so many options for us for support groups but dont find nything for dh and children .
For breakfast they brought me 1\2 cup ice cream. 1 whole cup applesauce and 2 containers of apple juice. Uh...hello... Isn't this just gonna add to the diahrea? Chose not to eat. Talked to nurse who said its part of thr full liquid diet. Wth ? Hoping lunch is a better choice

Patty, ask to have a occupational therapist come in to instruct on the diaper thingy. Their function is to teach all kinds of dressing need. This is right up her alley. Honest. Nurses could teach it, but the OT got a 4 yr. degree in it.

TresJ..........hope you are okay. The MO goofed. He established a Duty to Act by having you come in then examining you. To send you on your way without getting direct care that day. Bad move. If you have a serious scenario happen b/c of the delay he's negligent. So much malpractice happens everyday...it's a wonder we survive.
