MERRY CHRISTMAS gals!
Okay Spookie... it is 22 degrees here right now... supposed to snow.... today and tomorrow.... that's okay.... it's Christmas!
And Sass is on cloud 9.... Congratulations pre-MIL! I became engaged too, On Dec. 23 1956! Got married about a year later..... So I know it will work!...........
We were just kids.... 19 years old.... but all we had was each other.... My family had moved away, and his family were so wrapped up in their own problems, we were pretty insignificant...... But growing up together, and making your own life was the best teacher of all. ..... Morning Enerva! Hope you doing good..... I have to get stuff ready around here.... Janie coming over about 10:30 for our Christmas Brunch, and then opening our gifts....
My new little neighbor came over! Vanessa is 52! She and Mark are both professionals, but she is just a kick! So much fun to talk to, and she acts just like my own Daughter's! We were talking about the guy they bought the house from, and how he bragged about the fencing he put around his front yard, and how he told me it was over $10,000....and she said "OH HE'S FULL OF SHIT.... HE DIDN'T PAY THAT MUCH FOR ANYTHING!" And I laughed so hard I almost fell off the chair!
So she has a fun sense of humor..... glad she and her husband are our neighbors!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY! I hope ALL of you are feeling better.... Rosie, Mags, Peppermint and Blondie..... !

Being from Colorado.......................
98% OF AMERICANS SCREAM BEFORE GOING IN THE DITCH ON A SLIPPERY ROAD. THE OTHER 2% ARE FROM COLORADO AND THEY SAY, "HOLD MY DRINK AND WATCH THIS."
Now, you're from Colorado if... You eat ice cream in the winter. It snows 5 inches and you don't expect school to be cancelled. You live above 5,000 feet, sometimes Summer comes on Sunday and you can go fishing! You'll wear flip flops every day of the .........year, regardless of temperature. (uhhhhh..... NO!~~~) You have no accent at all, but can hear other people's. And then you make fun of them. "Humid" is over 25%. Your sense of direction is: Toward the mountains and Away from the mountains. ..
You say "the interstate" and everybody knows which one. You think that May is a totally normal month for a blizzard. You buy your flowers to set out on Mother's day, but try and hold off planting them until just before Father's day. You grew up planning your Halloween costumes around your coat. You know what the Continental Divide is. You don't think Coors beer is that big a deal. You went to Casa Bonita as a kid, AND as an adult. You've gone off-roading in a vehicle that was never intended for such activities. You always know the elevation of where you are. You wake up to a beautiful, 80 degree day and you wonder if it's gonna snow later.
Every movie theater has military and student discounts. You actually know that ** South Park ** is a real place, not just a dumb show on TV. You know what a 'trust fund hippy' is, and you know its natural habitat is Boulder, Aspen, Crested Butte, Paonia, and Telluride. You know you're talking to a fellow Coloradan when they call it "Elitches," not ""Six Flags." A bear on your front porch doesn't bother you. When people back East tell you they have mountains in their state too, you just laugh. You go anywhere else on the planet and the air feels "sticky" and you notice the sky is no longer blue.

funny Chevy. Current humidity 96%. Ugh

Anybody see him?
Congrats Sassy, when's the big day?
Merry Christmas all.
Now have to clean and some cooking. Everybody will get here around 4. Only about half the crowd.
Everybody stay warm, haha, those on the west coast and Colorado!!

Merry Christmas, owlettes! Congratulations, Sassy! Got my pies finished last night, and the look wonderful. (You want pictures, you say? Later.) Our few remaining gifts opened, kids loved their crinkly toys, Rose found hers right away! Ham, scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole in the oven. Dinner in a couple hours, just us three.

There was a huge ring around the moon last night at midnight. Beautiful. Can't wait to see how it looks tonight.
Neighbors invited me for Christmas lunch! It was awesome. There was ham AND shrimp. (Don't tell my Rabbi !) I took Ava over in her reindeer antlers and she was a hit. And now it's work time, but I'll check in later.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Okay my turn......
You Know You're from California When

Your monthly house payments exceed your monthly income.
Your child's 3rd-grade teacher has purple hair, a nose ring, and is named Flower.
You don't know anyone's phone number unless you check your cell phone.
You've been to a baby shower that has two mothers and a sperm donor.
You have a very strong opinion about where your coffee beans are grown, and you can taste the difference between Sumatran and Ethiopian.
You begin to "lie" to your friends about how close you are when you know damn well that it'll take you at least an hour to get there (see below).
Getting anywhere from point A to point B, no matter what the distance, takes about "twenty minutes."
You drive to your neighborhood block party.
A really great parking space can totally move you to tears.
Gas is $1.00 per gallon more than anywhere else in the US
You can't remember … is pot illegal?
You pass an elementary school playground and the children are all busy with their cell phones.
It's barely sprinkling rain outside, so you leave for work at least an hour early to avoid all the weather-related accidents.
Both you AND your dog have therapists, psychics, personal trainers and cosmetic surgeons.
You drive next to a Rolls Royce and don't notice.
In the "winter," you can go to the beach, ski at Big Bear, mow your lawn in your shorts and maybe get a sunburn all on the same day.
You eat a different ethnic food for every meal.
If your destination is more than 5 minutes away on foot, you're definitely driving.
Calling your neighbors requires knowing their area code.
You know what "In-'N-Out" is and feel bad for the other states that don't have any.
You don't stop at a STOP sign, you do a California roll.
You've partied in Tijuana at least 3 times and you can't remember at least 1 of them.
You go to a tanning salon before you go to the beach.
Your have a permanent impression on the side of your head from your cell phone.
You know that Venice is a beach.
The waitress asks if you want "carbs" in your meal.
You classify new people you meet by their Area Code. An "818" would never date a "562" and so on…
You call 911 and they put you on hold.
You have a gym membership because it's mandatory.
The gym is packed at 3pm … on a workday.
You think you are better than the people who live "Over the Hill." It doesn't matter which side of the hill your home is, you are just better than they are.
You know that if you drive two miles in any direction you will find a McDonald's or a Starbucks.
You can't remember . . . is pot illegal?
It's barely sprinkling rain and there's a report on every news station: "STORM WATCH."
PS — If you drive here illegally, they'll take away your driver's license. If you're an illegal alien, they want to give you one!

So where IS everybody? Peppermint? Spookie, Rosie, Mags? Am I the only one up to get this day started?
I LOVE my bonavita little coffee maker! Makes coffee more tasty AND keeps it hotter! It was actually a gift for DH, but he thinks it is too complicated.... So I gladly re-assumed control of it, and he took my Mr. Coffee. What-ever works. And then we spent the rest of the day "playing" with our gifts from everybody....
Beautiful Christmas here yesterday! I mean fun with Janie and our breakfast, and opening gifts... And THEN? Started snowing, and it's STILL snowing.... and it's getting a little tiresome.... Have to feed the chickens, meaning sweeping or shoveling ourselves out, and down the alley to their back yard, and up those steps, and blah, blah! I'll wear my official wire-tread covered Crocs to do this....
So wake-UP people! Time to get up! Gotta take DH to the PC Monday.... It's a "check-up" before his cataract surgery next month.... and that's all folks!

Chevy you got a Bonavita? Yay. Little? What model number? I think it will be come this decades Mr. Coffee. Remember when Mr Coffee came out decades ago. Everyone got one and it became the coffeemaker to copy. I'm so happy I broke my last coffeemaker. Bonavita-perfect coffee every time. LOL.(commercial over). You are so nice to those chickens. Can't conceive how those nanobrains don't understand the effort you go through.
Thanks everyone about Steve. I found a ring that looks very close to Jamie's. Sparkly..
Oh Loverly, "Pride Goeth Before A Fall". The ballet was seriously off. Counter still full & dw too. But the company was wonderful. How many did you have for dinner? What did you have? How are the kids? Your list is funny, but some are really California.
The kids were excited about their stuff. Table and chairs. Foosball was a hit. Just need to get the foosball. Jamie loved her necklace--Red Jasper and macralite(pyrite) Sparkly. Can't believe I forgot to take a pic. Stephen was happy with all his glass. I think Jamie is influencing him already

MostlyMom Merry Merry, Love to see you.
HI1
haven't had an update about your DS & DD lately. DH? Trouble the same as before or something new? Patty, How did it go? You doing okay?
Mags Sounds like the magic found it's way in?
Susan, bless UPS. I was a day late. They didn't think it would make it. Thought it would lift your spirit
. It did mine when I saw it. 0 -

5 pages behind. Hope o go back and read everything.I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Christmas. Kids are still here till Monday
we are all exhausted. I hosted, lots of fun. But all the work tires me out.Tuff holiday this year too. Lost a good friend to cancer Christmas Eve. Great strong family. Have known them all my life. By far the nicest people. They have been a big part of making me who I am. They are the perfect example of unconditional love. So nice to have people like that in your life. They leave a permanent impression on all the lives they touch.
Had a long talk with brother too. Doesn't want any part of anyone and just wants to be left alone. Sad it has come to that. Lives with mom. So if he doesn't take her out she goes nowhere. So they were alone for Christmas. She wouldn't let me pick her up. They have always been oddly attached to each other. Strange the choices some people make.
Sorry that sounds like a downer Christmas. It wasn't . Had tons of fun...you know.... Live and love. We took the kids to a painting party. It's called vino van gough. So much fun. They set up in restaurants. You eat then drink and paint. The artist walks you through it. We did snowmen. So much fun.
I am relaxing with kids today and watching Harry Potter. All day, and tomorrow too.
Love too all.

ooooooh pretty!!!! Love sparkels!!

Susan- I am sorry about the loss of your friend to cancer this week. Never an easy thing, but especially hard during the holidays. Hugs sister and RIP to your dear friend.
Some people choose to spend their holidays differently than others. Sounds like your brother and mom do that. You did not sound like a downer, just sharing what I think commonly goes on for some families this season. I certainly don't have the Norman Rockwell experience myself.

Sass.... It is this one.... Brews up to 5 Cups! We have our own coffee-makers, because I make decaf. I took Edith a "newer" warm blanket for her "crate" bed I gave her.... Going over pretty soon.... sun is out, but a lot of snow and ice.....
Beautiful ring too!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SK5IXPQ?psc=1&... It was a little cheaper than what they list this one as....
Sorry Susan.... I think we all can relate.... Just do what makes YOU happy.... And I find it doesn't do any good to try and talk to some people, because their mind is stuck in their own misery and controlling their own situation......
My friend Sheilah still has her older Son living with her.... He used to be Janie's DH.... but she divorced him after maybe 4 years... I guess it is good in a way.... even though he is an alcoholic, and uses drugs.... for whatEVER reason.... that he lives there........ He maybe offers her companionship, and since her Husband died, it might comfort her in some way, that he is so close to her....
I won't say a word either.... It IS her Son.... she can say things, but no-one else should..... unless asked. He was arrested not too long ago, and she had to put her house up to get him out! Drunken fight.... and he has no license.... Too many DUI's.... etc. I would smack that guy into next week, if he was mine.... but he is hers.... and as long as she puts up with him, it doesn't matter what I think....

I like the vino van gogh! How fun!! Love the snowman paintings.
My stomach got upset last night,, maybe too much food,, or maybe it was the Chinese,, but I was up half the night. Dog woke me at 9-ish to go out,, so I took her out and fed her, and then went back to bed. Something I never do. Woke again at noon, but at least now I feel like I had a little sleep. So breakfast at noon, work at 330,, woo-hoo,,,, mostly lost today. Oh well. There is always tomorrow.

Spookie, Yes, sparkly. Never thought that much, but since I've been saying sparkly so much lately I think that may be a big reason I'm attracted to glass. Twinkly too LOL. Did you get together with DD &DGS's? Dinner? Presents? Stephen asked if I kept all his old nitendo stuff. Like Sheldon. Oops you don't watch TV. Sheldon 's from Big Bang Theory.
Susan you and Jazzy have such fun happening things in your towns. Not around here. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Nice pics Claire and DSIL are so cute. What month is she in. Hmm Harry Potter marathon sounds good. Susan sorry about your friend. Condolences to the family. Bummer.
Chevy What are your favorite Star Buck's coffee's Are you using them in the new pot. Are you grinding? I haven't been grinding. Fell of grinding, not sure why. Went to buy some today. Gave up and said I was going to ask you.
Kathy, did you Skype? I know you've told the story, but how did DS end up in Japan permanently?
Loverly, they're is a plan, I might get to meet Michael Retsky(toradol thread) in Miamii. I'm only hesitating b/c of the traffic. The drive is okay. But they drive like madmen down there. Still doing avoidance on cleanup. I'll stay here for awhile.
