KiwiCat, I read that Samoa and Christmas Island came in first, about 2 hours ahead of NZ, but you are the first major country to enter the New Year. May yours be filled with many blessings!

Onco,,..You are so correct! They keep saying on the news that NZ is first, but I should have done my homework better! NZ isn't that large, but bigger than Samoa, I guess. But they are definitely first, along with Christmas Island. Chatham Islands gets it before the rest of NZ, but they are part of NZ. Sorry to have posted misinformation and thanks for the correction!

Dont feel badly, my dear. I just had it in mind because I recently looked up the times around the world. I wanted to see when my different internet friends would be singing "Auld Lang Syne". We went with Adelaide, Australia, which was 7:30 this morning here. A walk in the snow, feed the birds, have a cuppa and turn southwest to sing Auld Lang Syne. That's the celebration for us. Do not like to stay up late; do not like to go out on this dangerous night; do not like to drink. Sounds boring, but actually we are lovely good-humoured people!

Happy moo year from the Dairy State.

I was curious about the POP Corn too, so I followed the link to a blog full of recipes and DIY crafts. POP corn is regular popcorn with edible glitter added.

Thanks for the info Mags. All I could figure out was the white chocolate drops that Sas described as nipples.

Sas i did a search by image upload and came to the recipe for white chocolate popcorn with edible glitter. The image you had (the nipples/drugs one) is the ingredients - edible glitter, and Wiltons white chocolate melts.
