I have to go back and read but here's Evelyn. Arrived Jan 4, 5:18 am, 19", 6lb and 9 oz, big premie, 5 weeks early. She has to go to the nursery for 2 days, some breathing issues which is normal for a premie. Don't know when I'll see her. I'm taking a back seat while the grandmas get to see her.

the women in my family have big babies, no diabetes. Mine were from 8-1/2 to 9-3. My DD were 8-1/2 to 11. My DS were 8-1/2 to 10-1/2.

Thank you guys, when I get new pics, I'll share. Most of the kids have a lot of hair. My DD last one had his first hair cut at a week old

Congrats Great Grandma!!! What a cutie!! Usually newborns are not very good looking, but she is darling! One of my brother was almost 10 lbs.( mom is petite- 5'1"). He came out looking like a Michelin baby. He is now the tallest boy in the family at a bit over 6".

Teka, I saw the post about Dunes too :(. I remember teasing her about her avatar (the one with the bird on her shoulder). She was easily amused. May she rest in peace.

MammaRay, how is the headache?? Any relief with the steroid?

Ms. Chevy, you are my cup of coffee in the morning. Hah

Mag and Beatmom, that recent earthquake...was it anywhere near you? Saw it building up in the earthquake log two or three weeks ago and heard it on the news last week.

Hi1, saw quake in Idaho also. Didn't know OK and Idaho get them too. Well, I can see Idaho, but Oklahoma??

Goats, you watch for storms. I follow reports on earthquakes. We have a few over 5 the last few weeks in Asia.Yes, I know I am weird. I think you have figured out by now

Loverly, we had I think more than 400 earthquakes last year. Some I feel, some I don't notice at all. When you have essential tremor, it's easy to miss an earthquake. I think most of them have been within 100 miles of Beatmon and me. Most of the damage has been minor, but there have been a few with more. We have mainly brick buildings in our area. We ourselves have had nothing more than a few tilted pictures. Was funny last week when we had tornados, snow, ice, and earthquakes within hours of each other. Snowquakenados. Only in Oklahoma.

Teka- I heard about Dunesleeper from another sister. Very sad news indeed.

Which is why we love babies! Congrats Susan, she looks really healthy and know you are going to be busy loving her a whole bunch.

  • Smarty, she is so beautiful!!! Thanks for posting pics. xo

  • Congrats, Smaarty!

Mags, I was looking at the USGS site for earthquakes the other day and was surprised how many occur in OK. I suppose I shouldn't be, we get them here, as well, but maybe only have one we can feel every 10 years or so. Squakenado sounds like the next B movie hit.

That might be O Hi O

And they get quakes there too. If we had one here, the state would break off and we'd all fall in. 😜

HI1, sorry about your friend Valerie, never easy is it? Sucks.... hugs.................

Blondie, Hi sweetie, how you doin?

Spookie, finally had a little sun. 48 here at daybreak. high was 64. All that work Donnie did with the attic insulation has really helped. Inside temp saying >72 without heat on. Were good. Shoulda known. I know your long history with dogs and trials etc. Tell me why you like Science diet. Likely won't use with these food vacuums, but I'll always have a dog and may need it. An FYI thingy. Trust you more than the advertisements.

Loverly, we had one dog we had to have the anal glands extracted. Once you smell that odor you don't forget it. UGH. On Christmas decorations I may leave even more up than previous. Just easier, plus I like them. Why would you give away your tree? Frog---supervising?

Smarrty, is that cruise out of Florida? You talked lasted year that you may be in this direction. Spookie and I are travelin' sisters to meet BCO sisters. Please, share the story about the one dog you didn't love. Ah hah, see where Patty would like the story too :) Ah-hah. Brittany, we had Brittany's for twenty years. The first couple of years can be a trial compared to other dogs. Lovely family story and tradition about gathering and pancakes. Yay, a new GGD CONGRATULATIONS--She's beautiful :)

Feline, so funny, I think just the opposite LOL, that cats are way more work. Cats are easier if you want to go away for a bit though. More complicated with dogs Thanks for the explanation never understood it.

Deb in your pocket for tomorrow, don't lay on us :)

Patty, yes, all is well with Donnie and visits to Essex were very nice.

Mags your Furbaby is so sweet. Love it when they get up close and personal. I do avoid the inside of the mouth licking attempts.

Zills :) better to be here than not. But when a break is needed than it's better not.

Blessings, Thanks, I'm excited about STBDIL. When I called my DAMIL mom, she turned and said "I'm not your mother, I will never be your mother". Seething tone. She was right. She was that way till the day she died. Hope I have as good of a relationship wit STBDIL as you did with your MIL. Sorry, about DH's bout. But you are a great nurse :).

2nd called the other day. She's working. DH has been very ill for several weeks, but is way improved now and out of danger It was close. He a a spleen tumor that was hefty. Forget the pounds. DD took time off from nursing school to care for father. 2nd is so proud of the way her DD watched over her dad. The nursing school was very cooperative. DD was given credit for her time off , I think she had to write a paper. DD was happy to be able to care for her dad and apply her nursing skills to boot. 2nd said to say hi to all and sends her love.

Phyllis is good too! nothing earth shattering and she's very happy with that. Working at Casa and mentoring a young one. She got a cat. It was a stray her sister took in. It didn't get along with her dog. Phil took it. They are learning each others ways.

    Jwoooooooooooooooohoootiehoootooooooooooyouhelpedallotoooooo

Chevy, people are microchipping. It's a whole subculture. Fell unto it searching for something else. One guy even implanted chips, so, that he could play his music on so he didn't have to use ear thingy's. If your name is Evelyn than where did you pick up the other name? J_____________?

Enerva, Mema, Cubbie, Queenie, Jackfin :), Lurkers, Brenda, Glennie, Teka, waving, gnivaw, waving, waving, gnivaw, And to anyone I've missed.

Spookie " Save the bales"? Yes went through several earthquakes in Ohio. Ashtabula was the epicenter for a couple, and then they're was one that came up from the fault in St. Louis(?).....I was at an early morning disaster meeting one time and said we needed to develop internal plans for hospital evacuations in the event of a earthquake. They all got buzzing. I slept through the earthquake the night before. They thought it a great idea LOL. Another memory, I was relating this to my boss. A couple, both RN's, moved from California b/c they were tired of dealing with earthquakes. They had just hired in. They chose Ohio b/c they thought it was free of earthquakes.

Then they're was the time some disgruntled rubber employees tried a sabotage thing. Poured something they thought would blow up the plant. Instead it got into the sewer system. BOOM. Sewer lids were blown up into the air for several square miles. Plant was fine. What a mess. No one new what was going on for hours. Happened just around 6 am. Trying to get to work was a nightmare. Reports of patients being thrown out of bed. Guess they didn't have their side rails up. Making a joke, badly. But with the history of earthquakes and no clue initially. It was scary.

It's the fracking that's causing all those earthquakes in OK. They keep saying we're due for a big one.

  • sas-schatzi
    sas-schatzi Posts: 15,889

What worries me is the fracking and aquifiers after that mess the EPA caused on the river. Mess up the aquifiers and then what?

any of you RNs work with premies? They moved Evie to the Roseville facility, apparently they have a better nicu. A little scary. Still haven't talked to my DD so donthave a clear pic of what's going on.
