Before I go to the next page, I want to thank you Spookie for the aspercreme. Last year, I ende up with a frozen shoulder and had PT. It was from bursitis and a couple of other things going on. If I use that arm too much or the weather is foul, it aches like the dickens. Saw the aspercreme advertised last night and commented to DH, I wonder if that works. Now I know!

Does the Aspercreme smell? I can't take regular aspirin due to stomach problems. Wonder if the creme would be local or have the same effect? Might be worth trying.
Junie, If you can't make it there, I would get a cooler with a shelf or improvise a shelf to put the wrapped cheesecake on. If you could do something there, you could just take the ingredients and finish it off there. We've taken frozen stuff from Seattle to Hood River like that. It's about 4.5 hours.

has NO smell, doesn't contain aspirin.

Wren - you think I could freeze the cheesecake? Then I could make the compote once I got there. Hmm!
Sas - The product Spookie suggested has 4% Lidocaine, but the Biofreeze doesn't. I get the Biofreeze at my physical therapist's office and it only cost $9.00 for a tube. So if you decide to try it, you can go to any chiropractic or P.T. office and buy it off the shelf. No script needed. Also, Biofreeze what they call cold therapy & really works well for me. Hope whatever you decide works for you.

jazzy, major heartburn..still on fire...well, hubby always said I was hot

Jazzy I have always found ice-blocks and a cooler box to be an excellent transport of chilled food by car as long as you keep it sealed. I pack the ice blocks all round - you can get ones that fit the box top, sides, etc

We have even traveled with dry-ice! Have to be careful with it though when handling... but it keeps things frozen. I think we bought a piece at a creamery....
Susan, have you ever tried Aloe Vera? From Super Walmart.... a gallon is almost 7 dollars, and that works for ANY digestive problems and even a bleeding ulcer I had one time.... I drank it 3 times a day, about 1/4 C mixed in with juice or tea.... Nerves will complicate your problems also....

JuneBug , Feelingfeline's suggestion would work very well. A school fundraiser sold cheesecakes that came frozen. I didn't get one as I make my own. Don't know how well a homemade one would hold up. You could try doing one ahead of time to see if it's integrity holds up. I presume you are driving? If not, you will have to be very creative in packing it as you could hit a snag with it as carry on.

Junie Thanks
To everybody--does your body kind of freeze up if your not moving awhile? Spent a couple of hours filling out a survey and everybody part is tight. It's an always problem, just wonder if anyone else does it?

Chevy, never heard of aloe Vera taken orally. Just topical. Hummmmm

Susan I have used it orally, but gave diarrhea. Did help the stomach issue I had.

Spookers! You're KIDDING! Really? Maybe your innards are just different.... I'm having some right now with orange juice and flavored creamer... about 1/2 C Aloe Vera.... It is a natural antibiotic.... DH just drinks it plain sometimes....
Yes, I have cut pieces of the Aloe Vera plant I used to have, to put on sore spots.... even on Lacee's hot-spots.... It heals.... and you can keep the cut pieces in the refrigerator, and it helps heal cuts, incisions, etc..... You can't even tell where they cut my hip, to put that rod in.... nor where they cut my breast, or where the Mammosite Device was....
Oh man, I was steaming some Asparagus, to tenderize before I fried it... almost BURNED it! Whew!

But we used to buy Aloe Vera at a regular health-food store... too expensive...
We always buy it at Walmart now....

no kidding Chevy. Even says it on the label.
Aloe growing and blooming in DDs yard. Cut a chunk when needed.0 -
Yes! Sheri's neighbor has a big one also! Never saw one bloom! Does she just cut off part of the tip of the stalk? That's what I did with one that I used to have.... I bought a small one, and am watching it grow.... They used to sell the cut whole-leaf to sell in the Aloe Vera store! They weren't cheap!
I used to have a lot of stomach problems... A gal told me "Just go get some Aloe Vera and drink it 3 times a day"..... I was scheduled for one of those tests, but after stopping to pick up some Aloe Vera, on my way to work, and drinking it for just 2 times that morning, that pain STOPPED! ( I would be giving a tour, and when that pain hit, I almost doubled over) By that first night, the pain would "start" to come, but would not take ahold.
I drank it with juice, tea, for at least 3 times a day.... That stomach problem completely healed.... Same when I told my BIL, and my Dad.... it helped them also....

Susan, doesn't hurt to try the aloe vera juice. It's an acquired taste.

Ms. Sas, let me know which cream you try. Regarding body freezing up if no movement for awhile: no, not yet. Is it your muscles or joints? Scary. Another fall risk....
Ms. Spookie, you know that aloe vera is a natural laxative, right?

I haven't reread...what's up with sas?

Ms. Sas fell last week and landed on her shoulder. Her ankle betrayed her. She was trying on those high heels you suggested Patty to bring to her (Patty's)weekend get-away.

Oh, before I forget, thank you Ms. Chevy for sharing the video of the young singer. Amazing gift she has there.

o.k., the strangest thing just happened. I logged in to BCO and read all the new posts on this thread, but when I got to the bottom to post my responses it said I needed to Log-in to make a post. Weird!
Anyway, that aside, today was quite a day. Had 2 packages delivered by UPS @ 11:33 a.m. and received a text to notify me of the delivery @ 11:50 a.m.. Went out my door @ 12:00 p.m. and NOOOO packages. They'd been stolen that quick. I've lived in this apartment for 5 years and this is the first time this has happened. Crazy thieves!!!!! Fortunately the two companies I'd ordered from are replacing the items I lost, but I just have to shake my head still. I'm going to talk to the apartment manager tomorrow about putting up a surveillance camera at my front door. This is why I have my Ibrance delivered to the MO's office. At $10,000. a bottle I don't think the insurance company would pay for replacements too many times.
SAS - how is the shoulder today? I tend to stiffen up when I sit for an extended period or first thing in the morning when I get out of bed, but I don't think that's what your referring to. Is it?
Last summer I weaned myself off of Nexium after 7 years and it was a miserable 3 mos. I tried the apple cider vinegar/water/stevia thing, but it didn't help. Ended up having to go to the E.D. because of nausea, stomach pain and inability to tolerate any food. They gave me a bunch of new scripts, but the only one I continued to use is the Omeprozole. I hadn't even thought of Aloe Vera juice. Hmm.
Susan - is your little fluff ball a shi-tzu? I adopted one in Las Vegas with the exact same coloring, and she was 6 years old. Her name was Lady Bug. I used to put little Red w/ white polka dot ribbons on her ears after she'd been groomed. She was really a sweetie, despite the fact that she had been horribly abused and neglected her first 6 years.
Also, before I forget, thanks so much for the cheesecake transport suggestions. They are very helpful. I'm really excited to get to see my friend for her birthday. Can you believe that she was going to cook her own birthday dinner? I told her NOOOO way. She is only to enjoy the day and we will take her out to be waited on. She and her husband are raising their 7 year old granddaughter. She says it's a lot harder to raise a young child at this point in life than it was when she was younger herself.
Guess that's all for now. Have a good night ladies. Till later.
