Spookie... WTH??? You mean did I send "something" to mean joe green? Or was it molly brown? Maybe M & M chocolates?
I bought a little 4-pak of "sex on the beach" shots! OMG they are so good! They are in these cute little divided plastic shot glasses.... And I drank a whole one, and am now drinking a white Russian! I have been working in the yard, and I am now "relaxing".... I haven't had a "DGAS" feeling in maybe 20 years.... Hah! You guys have any problems you want me to solve...????

I heard them talking about that "show" that happened last night.... Seems like it was a big school-yard fight! Everybody yelling and hollering, and not getting anything done.... The further I stay away from politics the better off I am.....

Hi Enerva! Just two sentences? Life is treating you ok?
JunieB, Enerva is another talented sister. She crochets lovely accessories. You, Enerva, Forward, Ms. Chevy(refurbished arts), Mags(drawing/painting) and Ms. Smaarty(quilt) should have joint venture for thecraft and art works. Then, you can hire Ms. Sas to manage your business. Good to hear that your white counts is up.

Zill, I like your new avatar. I can tell that the kids are your pride and joy. Good to hear that you are feeling better and hopefully CBC is good. Decluttering always gives me a sense of accomplishment. Btw, Goats is busy with politics.

I had to look up DGAS.
You are not working on the parking strip that you share with your chicken neighbor, are you? Maybe I need some of whatever you are drinking so I can have the "DGAS" feeling. We received an automated phone call late last night from my DD1's high school informing parents that there was a bomb threat. The message (written in the restroom) read " The bomb will go off at 12:20. Be prepared." They had bomb sniffing dog and specialized law enforcement officers on campus today investigating. Then, about an hour and a half before school ended, the school received a phone call that the Student Service building will be targeted. Crazy!! Such a waste of time and resources.

Yikes! Lover - that had to have been very unsettling. There was a threat of a school shooting in or near Portland, Oregon today too. I hope your son and fellow students were allowed to come home. The school here made the kids stay in their home rooms for hours, because the school was on lock-down. Such a sign of the times we are in.
Well, I finally got the quilt ready to take to the long-arm quilter. Unfortunately I have to wait until Monday now, since there are no buses here in Salem on weekends. This evening I was looking on-line for a pattern for a baby changing pad. Tons to choose from.

Also, I went to an orthopedist again today to try and get him to do surgery on my right hip that has already been replaced, but is hurting me a lot. But, the doctor said that he wouldn't operate on me due to my weight and because of my cancer treatments. Those 2 factors he said make me too high of a risk for an infection, so he told me if/when I lose 50 lbs. he'd consider doing it then. But he is willing to have me get another cortisone shot though. Major BUMMER!
How do you lose weight when you already hurt, are getting hormone suppression drugs, etc.?
Hope everyone is having a relaxing Friday evening. Goodnight!

JunieB. great job on the quilt, it is sweet, how Much time do you need on the long arm, I've never tried one. Too bad about the buses on the weekend. I am sorry to hear about your hip, hopefully the cortisone shot helps. Positive news on your counts
Lover how sad, does it scare your children?
I had my first knitting lesson yesterday
I think I will need quite a few lessons to knit the simplest item.Sas it always nice to have good company enjoy your visit.

lookforward, practice makes perfect! Do little projects. It will help to get you to a point where your stitches will be even. It will take time, patience and practice. Remember the rag type washrags that our grandmothers made? Practice knit only on both sides, then practice pearl one side. Hope that helps. Got little people I your life? Make Barbie size blankets!

Thanks Lookforward, the long-arm quilter is unfortunately booked at least 10 weeks out, so the baby won't get his quilt until he's about 2 months old. Also, Smaarty is right, the knitted dish cloths are a great beginner project. Learning about the yarn weight and what needles to use for that weight is very important too.
Chevy - When my brain won't shut up, that's when I take the Xanax.

Smaarty and JuneB. That's what I plan on doing, just keep practicing. The square washcloth is a good idea, I am off tomorrow to buy cotton yarn.
Spookie I need one of those phones, being Canadian we say that all the time

Sas, curious how was the rally?

Discussing politics is not a good idea. Let's just remain friends.

Meadow- I hope you like it here on this thread. Tell us about yourself if you want? Family, pets, hobbies, anything you want to share.
I will share too. You might wonder why I call myself Jazzgirl? I play music for fun, five instruments including two horns, the flute, the violin and learning the steel drums. Jazz is my favorite genre of music. I also love to travel, love gardening, the outdoors, and going to take my first cooking class ever next month!

Wow, Jazzy,, that is awesome. I played the flute in high school band,, but must say I was never very good at it. Which 2 horns do you play?

Jazzygirl - Wow, you're quite a talented woman. I hope you enjoy the cooking class you spoke of. Is it for a particular type of cuisine or a basics class? I like cooking for others. It is very satisfying to see that look of appreciation on their faces when they are enjoying what I've cooked. I also love to make cheesecake for special occasions too. Unfortunately, I can't do the dinners like I used to do for my church group. The last one I did was in Feb. 2015 for a lady celebrating her 5 year cancerversary. It was for 31 people and I would have never made it without the help of 3-4 other people. Even the Pastor was scrubbing pots after dinner.
Lookforward - If you have a Joann's in your vicinity, they carry a nice selection of cotton yarns for the dish cloths. Plus, there are a lot of free patterns on-line too. Just google "free knitted dish cloth patterns."

Jazzygirl. wow, five instruments! I am impressed. I too love the outdoors. My parents farm has a beautiful and peaceful place where there is water and blackberries. Do you remember reading FierceBlueBird's quote in her bio line, about the tranquil place where the deer and heron rest? This place is like that and just thinking about it makes me happy, there is my Meadow. My husband is a great cook, me, just ok, I would love to take that cooking class with you. Thank you for sharing and for asking.

Jazzy cooking lessons are fun, it's is surprising what we can learn. I'm going to sign up for a phyllo pastry course. I have never had any luck doing it myself. I love spanakopita, can't wait. My daughters friend's own a Italian restaurant and give lessons in making fresh pasta. My husband doesn't cook [ he can make breakfast] . I am going to get him to go for a lesson, he'll keep them entertained anyways.
Juneb. We don't have Joann's here, but we do have Michael's and they have a nice array of yarn. The store where I am taking lessons is locally owned and they have a large section of beautiful yarns as well. I had a retail store myself and always try to support local businesses. We are surrounded by big box stores and they are shutting down the smaller stores.

Meadow I missed your post, is the farm still in your family. How wonderful to have a place like that. I would like to have a home with an acre of land in the middle of the the city. I do not want to drive roads into the city during winter
