Welcome to our thread Sensitive. I am sorry about the complicating factors for your dx. Is there any sort of specialist who may be able to better advise you on the concerns you have? Is there any hospital in the country that may specialize in your disease where you could get some sort of consult? Sometimes they can do that by Skype, etc. if they don't need to examine you?

Your treatment options should be focused mostly on the type of cancer you have (pathology helps to tell that) and whether there is node involvement. They like to know about your cancer history, but don't think your treatment options will have anything to do with other people's cancers in the family. Sometimes there are genetics tests if there is a strong family history of bc.

The decision making is so overwhelming right after dx with treatment options. This is still very new for you and let us know how we can help?

Happy Birthday Shells. Good to hear from you. I hope you're enjoying your job, despite the sad parts.

    Bonjour!

    JunieB, this is for you:

    image

I felt the same way this morning. Took a long morning nap myself. Wonderful that you volunteer at the shelter. We have a lot of homeless people near where I work. Some have psychological problems. Very sad to hear some of the stories. Always so tough to see a person sleeping in the cold in the park nearby.

This is the summary of my last two days:

And this is how I picture my nose after bursts of staccato sneeze:

Hope you find some energy tomorrow.

    Sensitive, cute avatar!

Hi Jazzy, hope your week is going well and everything is in its place.

Susan, have a safe trip. Remember what you need to do if Queenie starts talking like an old English person? Hehe

Queenie, I know you will take care of our Dear Susan. Hopefully, she won't need the shoulder to cry on ( I know it's bad to end a sentence with a preposition).

Feline, Ceanna asked about you on 20 questions forum. Miss you being silly with us.

Ms. Sas, the poor guy. I'm glad you showed him grace. Sometimes a person can't help it. Noise can do that to even a person without brain injury when he/ she is cranky or not feeling well. Must be tough though to live with someone like him.

So I got my port Monday. I am very hopeful that this will prevent so many hospital stays. Now when the uncontrollable vomiting and diarrhea come along home health can come here and give IV phenergan and zofran and fluids to prevent dehydration. Surely I'll recover quicker at home. My dss are so used to it I don't think it will freak them out - me at home with IV - more then the hospital stays. I had to fill out a SS disability review form the other day and I was shocked by the number of days I was in the hospital in 2015. Although I don't have the exact number in front of me now, it was well over 60 days cumulative. How sobering to see it written. Def not quality of life. But I am back on the upperwards swing of beginning to feel better. My ds2 spent the past weekend at s friends house and came home with a sore throat. Friends mom called Monday and said er boy had strep. Ugh so been taking care of my sick ds2 and trying not to catch anything. Been wearing the Lysol and germx and bleach out !

I am anxious to go back and catch up on what y'all have been up to. I feel like I don't know what's happening with my family. Aka. You gals.

    Hugs.

Yeah Patty! So glad to finally hear from you and that things are on the upswing for you. Sorry though to hear that your boys aren't feeling well. Hope that passes soon.

Loverly - Thanks for the pics and they were so very true for me the last few days. I have a few people who don't at all get the being unable to sleep and being exhausted at the same time. One lady texted me Sunday that "Yeah, that's how us old folks get with the time change" Say WHAT! I'm 56. Not quite in the category of being old yet. Mind you she's 75. Hmmm! Despite me having told her at least 4 times that it's from the cancer treatments I'm on. Ugh!

Susan - Have a great and safe trip. Look forward to hearing all about the parts you want to share when you get back.

Patty- I am glad to hear your medical team has found a way to help you and keep you out of the hospital. Sixty days in the hospital is really a sobering number Patty. But that is behind you and better days ahead my friend. May you stay well and enjoy a better quality of life going forward!

Loverly- busy week, but everything is going okay! The management at the client site is at a quarterly off site meeting so I may cut out early today. I have been enjoying time outside in the evenings with the time change. Last night, I pruned a large bush after work! Time change has been kicking my butt though.

Wishing everyone a Happy St Patty's day. Don't forget to wear green today!

Running on half my usual load of energy today. Had a thunderstorm roll through my area in the middle of the night which woke my poor furbaby Jackson and the rest of the house.

Haven't heard from Susan3 about specific arrival time, but I'm home by the phone and only a couple of minutes from where we're likely to meet. Shoulder available should she need it.

Thanks feline. Same back at you.

This virus is kicking our butts still. Can't do anything hardly but sleep. Donnie has missed two days work. I may have to bury him.

Patty, it's always good to see a long post from you. More than 60 days in the hospital? You should at least be given immunity to all the hospital bugs. Goodness, girl! Take good care of your little one and try not to overdo.

Feline, I always enjoy your pictures. Nice angle and lighting.

Jazzy, I am dying to work in the garden, but have been down with the head cold. I had both Tuesday and Wednesday off this week and was looking forward to do some cleaning and yard work, but instead was stuck on the recliner both days. Such a waste of time. Hope it's not a sinus infection. My upper molars hurt.

Mommy, I am running on very little energy today too. Called in sick :( Hate doing it.

    Queenie, have fun. I'm jealous.

Ms. Sas, hope you feel better soon and stop sending that bug my way.

Loverly, You're giving me too much credit. I volunteer for a senior center and an animal shelter. However, I'm a retired mental health counselor/case manager and had a lot of homeless clients. I agree with housing first for helping. I had a client who got housing when we had a section 8 voucher to give someone. He still had major psychological problems, but was about to get by in his own apartment. He said it was the best thing we had done for him. Being homeless is bad but doing it with hallucinations is impossible to imagine. My clients were some of the bravest people on the planet, IMHO.

    Hope everyone feels better soon.

Patti, Yay for being home and fingers crossed you don't get anything from DS.

I'm sure susan3 will post the not-selfie but short version: fun, of course, but I don't think I"m going to be allowed to live down going to the wrong restaurant first. (Found her eventually, but husband-and-I go to that restaurant fairly regularly, so all the waitstaff know us. So gonna get grief, like whoa.)

Ohh loverly, bad sinus infection when the teeth hurt. Had one one time years ago, I though my face was going to kill me. Saline solution to the rescue. Sorry if my cold is drifting near you. My cough has been fierce. I could imagine sending droplets all the way to California. I think it may be Flu. Fits all the criteria. But I had the vaccine though, and the vaccine has pretty well hit the mark this year. Who knows. I'm glad I'm on the down side of this. Bad bug, very bad bug. Poor Donnie, he's a mess

Queenie, Badger and I did that when we met. She was at one Cracker Barrel and I was at another. But we did get together. Can't wait for the pics :)

Wren, my first charity is Habitat for Humanity because they put roofs over people heads. Thank you for the work you've done over the years. Working with the mentally challenged is a challenge in itself. Not everyone can do it. Takes a special person :)

Just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a Happy St.Patrick's Day. Thank you for all the support. General question. How long did it take you to get into your first appointment, once DX? 2 weeks seems like such a long time to me. I find myself wanting to educate myself and search out my options, but also feel stuck because I don't have all the information.

Off to my mom's for some corn beef. Have a great night all!

Sensi, I was dx 11/11/11 and had surgery 1/4/12. They offered me a slot on 12/31, but that's my anniversary and I didn't want to spoil it. Margins were bad and reexcision found another tumor that hadn't showed on anything. At that point I just wanted it off. I think the mx was in Feb. 2012. A happy St. Patrick's day to you as well.

Hi Sensi, MRI report was Dec10th, Appointment I think the jan. 4th. BX the 23rd, BMX feb 18th. But I was pushing like crazy. If the BS had his way it would have been 3 months after the bx. My clue was BS "See you in 3 months".

I found out 4/29 the biopsy was positive, had the bmx on 5/31. Saw the breast surgeon, 2 PS and 1 radiologist in the month between.

    Happy st pats everyone.

I am a couple of days behind, happy belated birthday to Shell and Susan. Susan enjoy your time away from home, nice picture of you and Queenie.

Welcome to the thread sensitive, hope your treatment goes well.

To all the ladies not feeling well Sas, Loverly, and Juneb, Hope tomorrow is a better day for you. Juneb you are right 56 is not old, the cancer treatments drag everyone down, wishing you a good nights sleep.

Patty nice to see you home and around family again. Just not too close , you don't want strep throat.

Feline Happy St. Patrick's Day. I have a grandfather from Ireland and I don't have anything green to wear..

Smaarty Evie does have excessive cuteness.

I have been emptying all my kitchen cupboards and pantry getting ready for the Reno that is starting on Monday . Do I really need all this stuff, I have enough dried goods to open a store! I would be embarrassed if anyone could see this. I won't have a kitchen for 5 weeks, maybe I will lose some weight lol
