Shep - Marti is such a beautiful girl too. Hard to tell from the pic she's 12. I sure hope your theory on finding things when you stop looking works for me. I finished knitting a green crib blanket a couple months ago, but now I can't remember where I put it. DRATS!

I think I mentioned that my endocrinologist only checks my Vit. D yearly. I'm going to have my MO or PCP check it more often.

Mags - Sorry you're still under the weather. Have you tried any Probiotics?

Good morning, afternoon, and evening!

It's so windy here today and last night. Around 2-3 am Mitzy climbed up the stairs and went straight into our room looking for us. (she knows she is not allowed upstairs). I sat up really fast and I think I scared her even more. Poor thing....by the time I got to my bedroom door, she was already downstairs. The girl has no fear of thunder and fireworks, but is all antsy when it's windy out. every time the wind picks up, she barks at the trees or the barbecue grill.

JunieB, you look that cute when you sleep? Not me (I don't think). I probably look more like the people in the NyQuil commercials.

Loverly ~ Poor Mitzy! You are so mean. Let that sweet girl curl up next to your bed! I hope the high winds have died down. Some dogs are very weather sensitive....maybe the pitch of the wind or the change in barometric pressure was uncomfortable for her? I usually have to break out the lavender oil for Marti when there is a thunder storm. We had a fierce one a few nights after she started the Xanax........she didn't even cock an ear or wrinkle her nose. Wish I could go back in time and give it to her for all the storms it the past that upset her soo. How's Hubby re-adjusting to the comforts of home? Still keep thinking about those boulders crashing on that scary road.... He is a brave man with a good heart, putting himself in such danger to help others. God was watching over him for sure.

MammaRay ~ Hope you made it home safely from the WalGreen's. Quiet times are good as long as the "creepy crawlies" don't sneak into your thoughts. Easier said than done.... Dealing with this stupid cancer thing and having to take care of others (and yourself) sucks. Hoping you have a good friend to talk to or a silly friend to make you smile.

Shep - Thanks for the pic with the Cairn. Awww! Now that I've been off of the Ibrance for 4 days I'm starting to feel somewhat more like my self. Will have more bloodwork on May 13th to see if my counts have rebounded and I can start it again. Last month my ANC was 1.43, and this month 0.92, plus my RBC's were down as well. So weird since my ANC for the last 4 mons. had been 1.09, 1.31, 1.54, 1.43, etc.

Also, it will be nice when I actually run across that crib blanket. For the life of me I just can't figure where I'd put it.

Loverly - I can guarantee you I do not look that cute when I'm sleeping. Mitzy look like she's having a exhilarating time in the park.

It is sunny and 70 degrees here today. Would be a great day to take a dog to the park. Sure hope my surgery goes well and recovery is uncomplicated. September will be here quicker than we know and I want to be ready for puppy. Still thinking about names. Spencer, Simon, Theo, Kirby, hmmm!

FeelingFeline - I've never found extra money in my purse. But did find $20 on the street once and $10 in a washing machine at a laundromat once. But that's it.

FF ~ finding money in my purse would be a BIG surprise! LoL ! You know those times you make a cup of tea and then leave the room and forget about it? Then, a bit later you remember, "oh my, I I would like some tea"....and go into the kitchen to "find" that cup of tea already made, just sitting there waiting for you? Not a memory problem at all.....just thank your Invisible Butler! (tea-hee!)

JunieB ~ LOVE the pretty print of the old timey bicycle with the wicker basket surrounded by flowers. So much detail with the trellis, lattice fence, birdcage.....I could look at it for hours. Wouldn't that make a lovely wall hanging?

Shep - Yes, that is a pretty picture, and yes it would make a beautiful wall hanging.

Lookie - Yes, lymphedema is a pain. My arm acts up when I over use my arm, like when I do something like gardening or like you painting. When my arm flares up it also causes my reconstructed breast to swell too. Do you have a compression sleeve to put on? That always helps me.

I really didn't have an answer for you about May Day, so I Googled it. I just remembered it from elementary school and that putting flowers on a neighbors front door was part of the tradition.

So here is a brief description of the origins of the May Day celebration:

May Day is an ancient spring festival in the Northern Hemisphere. It's an astronomical holiday, one of the year's four cross-quarter days, or day that falls more or less midway between an equinox and solstice – in this case the March equinox and June solstice. The other cross-quarter days are Groundhog Day on February 2, Lammas on August 1 and Halloween on October 31. May Day also stems from the Celtic festival of Beltane, which was related to the waxing power of the sun as we move closer to summer. At Beltane, people lit fires through which livestock were driven and around which people danced, moving in the same direction that the sun crosses the sky.

Good evening friends- a blast of winter is moving through NM again on this May 1st. No surprising though, seen this happen before when we don't get enough snow throughout the winter, which we did not this year. April into May can be waves of winter moisture moving through. The mountains here are getting snow and there is a cold wind today. I could not make myself go out today. This back and forth from highs up to 80 some days, and being in the 40s today just wears my body out!

I remember celebrating May Day back in grammar school days in the 1960s. I remember my school having a May Pole.

FF I had a good surprise today as well, two of my long stemmed roses survived the winter, usually it is too cold and you have to replace them every year. Bonus , money saved.
