hello friends.
Finally getting out of my emotional funk and physically feeling much better also for awhile I seriously thought I was at the end of my life and I was OK with that maybe even happ but things have changed and I am doing so much better. Not even trying to play catch up. Just read the last two pages. Glad to see most people are doing well. No deaths. Yea !!!! Evie is getting so big and still beautiful. And is that a pic of Susan's new granddaughter I seen ??? She's precious. Doesn't seem possible her daughter has already had her but time flies lately. I sincerely hope it is Susan's gd and that you have gotten to spend alot of time with her. As usual, I see many new people as well as several old timers haven't posted. Hoping they are on vacation or just to busy enjoying life.
Hugs to all. I've missed y'all.
Hootie hoo

hi Patty

I keep trying to come back here, but I keep getting lost. Must be the tequila.
Sensi - I'm so glad you are doing better.
Patty - You too! It's so good to hear that you're doing better!
I love the baby pictures. I even love the glass pictures. (don't smack me, sassafras)
I can't keep up with all the posts. I hope that doesn't matter too much and I can wander in randomly and visit. Today I need a visit.
I had startling information from my MO today. I didn't like it. Not one bit. You can see in my signature that this is my 4th go-round or whatever you call it. It looks like now the docs do not want to remove the stinkin' node that's causing the trouble. MO is looking for a clinical trial with some sort of immunotherapy for me. Chemo has not solved the problem so far, so she (and I) don't want to do that again. So, no chemo, no surgery, no rads. The good news is that I'm pretty healthy and I'm feeling good. Anyway the morning was carp, but I think I'm doing better now. Must be the tequila.

Phyl, Sorry you received bad news today. Yes tequila will help. Fred Hutch is doing a lot of immunotherapy now so perhaps they'll have a trial for you. Feel free to drop in anytime. This thread is so fast there's no reason to try to keep up. Hugs.

Shep, been out of it too long.....Skin prep is totally a great product.
Loverly, so lovely OMD they are just beautiful. I'm not a gardener, but I have meet folks that are orchid folks. They are different. Can you explain why?
Phyllis come back to earth and just be you.............That was a different time different thread. Bitchy.......not. You know how much I love you. Bertha is gone. Talk in real time. Okay, my butts up in the air for a kick.
Susan sorry finances are tough. Did you see my post about needymeds.org (hmm should have hyperlinked). I love social workers, but they only know their bit of the pond. What needymeds.org has done is try to bring the resources for the entire country together. BUT it is a very difficult site to use. You may be eligible for many resources financially. I recently had a friend turn down a resource that she was eligible for. Her reasoning was someone else might need it more. I disagree with that rationale. A need is a need. We can turn around and donate back to the same organization that helped us when our need is less. I have been doing several organizations now for the last few years since the seriously troubled times.

Hi friends- hope everyone had a nice Mothers Day, including all the new grandmothers too!
Purple- welcome to our thread. We talk about everything here and this thread seems to go day and night. I hope you get through your next treatment okay and nice to have friends to talk to as we muddle on through.
Loverly- I love your rock purlane. Mine finished blooming and I planted it out front in my rock garden and will see how it does there. Best find of the year so far.
Patty- I am glad to hear from you and sorry things are so hard for you. I am glad you are feeling better and able to rejoin our thread. We have missed you and I personally am glad to see you here again. I too hope you had a nice Mothers Day and that your family doted on you!
I have a busy start to the week and trying to finish a status report for my client. Will pop in again to say soon! Maybe in the middle of the night too!

Aw Phyllis, bummer about the news. You know is so strange is that I had a dream last night that the cancer returns on my right side. But this time it is triple negative rather than ER/PR - and Her2+. And today you popped in with the bad news. Have not tried Tequila, but I have tried virgin Margarita.
Ms. Sas, I would love to meet orchid folks. You said that they are different?? Or is it eccentric? Ha! Interesting that you asked. Did you know that there is an article written by a psychologist by the name of Robert Reiher on orchid people?
Here is an excerpt from the article:
"Orchids are very delicate flowers, and really can only grow and thrive under controlled conditions. And corrspondingly, an "orchid person" is biologically highly sensitive to environment, and can easily become emotionally drained trying to function in a world that has become so dependent on meaningless escapism and distractions. Also, such a person is negatively impacted by a sense of "disconnect" that can exist in our fast-evolving social environment in which relationships develope primarily within a digital remove, and are decreasingly "fact-to-face."
Soooooo.....I need encouragement to thrive. Who doesn't?? Ha ha.
BTW, you got an interesting looking family there.
Mags, your mom looks sweet in that picture.
Here is mine many moons ago.

Whoa!! Sorry it is huge.

2am here, Hi! So, I had forgotten to add this to my favorite topics, duh! Chemo was today (well, yesterday by now) and went smoothly, no weird reactions. I did manage to not take ativan or my beta blocker at bedtime (discovered mistake by OCD inspection of just-filled pill reminder box - at 1:45am. Note to self: fill pills BEFORE chemo next time, brain not worky as goody after. So, I just took those and hoping for some more sleep before I get up to get my 16 year old off to school in a few hours. Who else is up? So glad to have been welcomed and joined you here!

I'm up, but eyes are getting heavy. I ought to go to bed soon as I need to get up in about 6 hours to take my daughter to school too. Hope the chemo is kind to you but mean to the cancer cells. Hugs to you Minion

Ms. Sas, you are up late. I'm as ok as I can be....whatever that means. Abdominal ultrasound this Wednesday. Stool tests came back normal so far. Still waiting for C. Diff. Surprisingly, I have been having formed stool the last few days. Yay! But, the pressure under my ribs is still there. Darn! Good night! Signing off.

Hi Wench, I take it you like pirate stories? Welcome here, sorry overall, but you can rest you weary bones here.
Purple doing better today? The dex sent me into the universe. My ICU nurses said they never saw any one so out there on it. I felt like in the worm hole from Contact. A ccouple of years later we found out I have this weird metabolism thingy
Shep it 3A4 & 3A5
Loverly, what other studies did the doc do? Is it the GI doc?
Mags when the tooth thing happening.
I PM'd Ginger and she said she'd be back soon, but that was awhile ago?????????

What's this Junie Anniekay is throwing her husband away?
Lookie, how's the fires going? We aren't getting much news about it here. How are the evacuees doing? Have we sent any help. Did Fort Murray survive at all?
Smarrty, really? You weren't hogging........Did you make the quilt she was laying on the floor?
Smarrty & Susan. Reminded me when I saw the hanging toys above Evie's head. When Stephen was 13months old Greg was packing away the first years rattles and teething rings. Made me crazy to see them in a box. I snuck them off and put them on the Christmas tree. I put them low so steve could take them off and play with them and then we'd put them back on together. He did it for a couple more years then forgot about them. They're still there and he's 31 now.
Patty, glad you are doing so much better. It's the Ibrance doing it's magic? It seems Ibrance does wonders. It's tough to make your peace and then have a turn around. It's confusing. Strange thing to say I know, but I get what you mean.
Phyllis, hugs

I am flying high on dexamethasone today, all good! I did learn last time I did chemo that taking it easy would be smarter than listening to the dex, so that is what I did today. I feel good, and expect to until about Thursday when the crash happens
0 -
purple, be nice to yourself during the crash.....I get so mad cause I sleep all day...I am such a rock head. Just don't let anyone get pics of you drooling on your pillow
0 -
I sleep with those lozenges that keep your mouth moist. They sometimes will be partly there the next morning, along with drool all over from the excessive saliva that they produce. Caked on my face, lips.
I have been reading about the chronic fatigue that some chemos cause. The difference between fatigue & being tired. It's a slippery slide, I am more determined to MOVE ! My next crash will be in 9-10 days.

Wish I could have a bit of your high. I'm dragging lately.
Spoke too soon. I pfffit today along with cramping. PCP ordered H. Pylori, Giardia, C. Diff, and I forgot what the others were. She talked about scope and I gave her an ugly face. Nope. I'm thinking about going Paleo, which requires discipline. Anything to avoid the scope.
Has anyone heard of functional medicine? Quite an interesting therapeutic approach to addressing chronic diseases ( cancer included). One of the goal is getting 8 hrs of sleep. Yikes! I'm short of 2 hrs every day. Better go night night then.

sas-schatzi, my ex-husband started the pirate thing when he decided it would be a good idea to "step-out" then I decided it would be a great idea to "throw-out" and I got a divorce. He told my now DH that he was a pirate and stole his lifetime treasure, it kinda stuck. My DH goes by PirateStu and I'm WenchLori and have been for over 30 years, Back before Pirates were cool!

sas-schatzi, I just want to pet him and hug him and call him my own! My DH gives me that look everytime I ask him for money! When I called to give him an update on insurance issues he said he just looked at the phone and wondered how much my call was going to cosrt him? He does spoil me rotten!
