Gotta share good news (for me): first post-diagnosis mammogram today. NED. And the radiologist suggested bumping me down to mere screening mammogram next year.

Susan, cute pic. Are they sleeping standing up? 🤗 How is you DD feeling, getting back to normal? Is she breast feeding. My DGD didn't nurse very long with Evie, maybe 3 weeks. Sad. Hopefully with the next one.

Ok, that sucks. I was just in mid sentence when the site blinked and the post I was typing disappeared.
Yeah Queenie!
Thanks Jazzygirl, appreciate the thoughts.
Lookie - Thanks for the info on the pattypans. I'll look for the seeds and maybe I'll get them in the soil next summer. Gotta get this surgery behind me.
Susan - Adorable pic of Claire & Elena. Is that inside your home? I really like the curved archways & built-in corner cabinet. The craftsmanship from the past is so pretty. Plus the paint colors really enhance it.
I am lucky to keep the 4 houseplants I have alive. I've tried fushia's outside, tulips, and a few other plants. All died, but I have managed to not kill the primroses or a couple bushes I planted a few years ago.

Susan, that picture is adorable!

jazzy June, not my house. It's SIL moms best friends house. The kids are renting it, all furnished for 300 a month. Lucky ducks they are. The owners are in Georgia for 2 years at CDC. It was perfect for kids. They needed a place for a year and a half before med residency.
Smaarty, yeah, she could breast feed triplets and still sell milk out of the garage. I didn't have much luck myself, but all going well with her. Never used a bottle yet. Not sure if they will.
Queenie, yeaaaahhhhhhh.....what a relief for you. You go girl !!!!!!!!!
Hi everyone else. Hope you guys are having warm weather. Chicago hasn't made up its mind yet if it's spring . More like fall around here.

I live near Chicago too, and today's high in the low 50's was perfect, for October!

Managed to keep my snake plant alive since I got it last summer. My new hanging plant is a Purple Wandering Jew

Susan, Your DD might want to do an occasional bottle (with her milk in it) just so she's willing to drink from it. She probably wouldn't take it from Mom, but perhaps Grandmom.

I know...I wish...right now she is really in to it. It would help her sleep better once in awhile if I took a feed time at night when I am there. I think eventually she will be tired enough to bottle some. She has a bunch frozen...so we are ready when she is

Evie was over today with her grandma. She's starting to drool a lot so teeth soon. Till chubby cheeks!

Those patty pans are called summer squash here. Have grown them in the past, should try again.

ohhh smaarty....she is so cute. How fun when they start interacting...can't wait

Smaarty, I always heard the hooked ones called summer squash and the round ones patty pans. They're both good and next to no calories. Now I'm hungry for some. Evie is cuter every day.

Just for clarification, I looked this up. Hope it is helpful.

Roasted Pattypan Squash with Pancetta
Serves 2 (or more, if you use 6 or 8 smaller pattypan squash)Ingredients
- 2 large pattypan squash (mine were about 4″ in diameter – or, use 6 or 8 of the little ones; whatever you have)
- 2 ounces pancetta – chopped (or 4 slices bacon. Or, omit entirely – still rocks w/out the pork)
- 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes – quartered (or use 1 small tomato, diced)
- 1 small onion – diced
- 2 cloves garlic – minced (or chop up a garlic scape or two if you still have some)
- sprinkle of good Parmesan cheese
- sprinkle of Panko or other breadcrumbs
- olive oil
- 2 tbs fresh basil – sliced or torn
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.Slice tops off of widest part of squash (on mine this took about 1/4 of the squash off). Chop the squash tops. With a spoon, scoop out and discard the seedy flesh from the center of the squash bottoms. (With tiny pattypans, there sometimes aren't many seeds – scoop out and dice this flesh if it looks tasty and not too seedy).
Place squash in baking dish, cut side down. Add water to cover the bottom of the dish; cover with plastic and microwave 8 minutes. (You can skip this step; it just shortens the cooking time in the oven later).
In large skillet, add a splash of olive and heat until hot but not smoking. Add pancetta or bacon and cook 5 minutes. Add onion, garlic, diced squash and tomatoes; season with a generous pinch of salt and pepper (a pinch is usually 1/8 of tsp, for the measurers among you. Start with that and taste it at the end; you can always add more but you can't take it away.) Saute the mixture for 7-9 minutes over medium-low heat, until the onions are translucent and squash has softened. Add basil; check seasoning and add salt/pepper as needed.
Place squash bottoms in baking dish; drizzle w/olive oil (get a little on the dish under the squash too). Season squash with salt and pepper. Spoon topping into the squash bottoms. Sprinkle with a little Parmesan, breadcrumbs and a drizzle of olive oil (or a pat of butter).
Roast squash uncovered for 30 minutes. (If you haven't microwaved the squash, increase the baking time to 45-60 minutes. You may need to add a splash of water or broth to the bottom of the pan at around the 30-minute mark to prevent scorching/sticking.)
Enjoy!

Yum!! Am I too late for dinner? I have oysters and beers. Anybody
I agree with Ms. Wren that Evie is getting cuter every day.
Susan, Claire is a comedian!! Love the photos of both parents.
Purple Wandering Jew?? Pretty plant, but who came up with the name???
Jazzy, I remember the moon yoga and the story that Marlana came up with....oh how I miss that little brat. Wish she is doing ok.
ShepK, did you run away with Crocodile Dundee??
JunieB, you had us worried there. Whew, so glad to hear that you are clear for surgery. That was the quickest answered prayer

Sensi and Queenie, YAY!!!

Smaarty, Evie is such a beautiful baby girl! Love her cheeks!

Jazzy, the pattypan looks yummy!

Loveroflife- yes, I remember her too. I went to see the last time she posted and it was here exactly a year ago. I hope she is doing okay too. Not everyone stays here forever, many move on after treatment is done.
I put my rock purlane out front in the rock garden with a few other ground cover type plans and pansies and it starting blooming again! We are getting a round of cold and rain again (cold dislike, gardens love the rain though!)

Jazzy, the rock purslane looks lovely in your front yard. Very nice water-wise garden. I'm curious....what we do with the stems after the blooms are done?

Junie, Now I know what I'm fixing for dinner tonight. That recipe sounded SO good!

don't know if all the threads are quiet, or I am just not getting any posts for whatever reason. But it's been many hours and nothing on any of the threads I follow...so weird

I am very glad you ladies liked the recipe. It does sound good and I just bought bacon yesterday, so now I just need to find some patty pan squash to give the recipe a try myself.
This morning I went to the vestibular clinic for my 11:00 a.m. appt. and while I was waiting in the lobby I looked at my phone and realized I was an hour and a half early. UGH! Could have slept another hour. I was very tired/fatigued and having difficulty walking, but went to the cafe on campus. Made it there, but was too tired to walk back, so had security give me a ride. Never made it to my appt. because I ended up at Palliative care instead, due to the exessive fatigue. Blood counts are all good, despite having started back on the Ibrance 4 days ago. But because of the fatigue MO took me off of it again. Oh well, just a few days early before I would have gotten off it for surgery anyway. Will now be on what they call a treatment vacation until after surgery. Will still be on the Faslodex though.
It was 83 & sunny here yesterday, but today it was 74 overcast and humid. Now it's very windy and cold. Supposed to rain for the next 5 days. That's Oregon weather for you.
Loverly - Any news on your tummy troubles?
Ok Shep, you still haven't shared what exactly you found that you were so excited about.
Hip is angry, so I'm headed back to recliner and watch the boob tube.
Happy Wacky Wednesday 2 Everyone 2!

Susan- it might just be a quiet day here? Not seeing a lot of activity on any of my threads here today either.
Loverly- there was a woman out in the front of my front rock garden tonight who was captivated by my rock purlane. It has a lot new flowers and we had a good conversation about it. She lives a block down and said "I am the one with the irises" so I knew exactly where she lives. Ha ha, we know the neighborhood flowers.
I think we clip them off when they are done blooming. I think you could plant the seeds from the flowers that rest on top and make new ones too?

hey ladies, just popping in to say hello and send you all love.
trying to get my home ready for my recon in August, and dealing with BF's concussion from a car accident he was in. So things are just.......... exceptionally stressful and time consuming right now.
I hope everyone is well, and that you know i think of you all often.
xoxo

Hugs and kisses back to you Jwoo. Sorry to hear about DBF's concussion and the stress you are dealing with recon. You need a break!
Susan, it's the timing. Just when you have the energy to rough house, everyone is quiet. What's wrong with the picture?
Jazzy, I need to research on how to take care of my rock purslane. I would be so sad if I kill it.
JunieB, sorry to hear you are still struggling with the fatigue and dizziness. Do you have history of thyroid or heart problems? Stool tests and ultrasound came back normal. PCP prescribed Pepcid 40mg, but have not picked it up yet. I am trying to eat differently and started raw probiotics yesterday. We will wait and see if stomach will be happy again. I had my gall bladder removed, so need to be careful with greasy food. One thing that is hard for me to give up is chili peppers. I like spitting fire when I eat.
Btw, what's boob tube? What are you watching girl? Night night.
