    Good Morning Sweet Owlies,

Loverly, " Shhhhhhhh Ms. Smarty, you are going to get me in trouble" You are oh so right. The first thought I had when I saw Smarrty's note was we could gang up on you. I often dislike saying what I'm thinking, not that anyone could tell............But I'm worried about NASH. This is a reasonable link to NASH explanation.

    http://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/health...

You are too young for a fatty liver and most if not all the predisposing risk factors are absent. Plus, yellow stools aren't normal. Do you hear that youngin? Tain't normal.

Ah-hah Loverly I found this very good link to describe everything you never wanted to know about yellow stools. I'm going to post it on the constipation thread too.

BTW Healthline.com is a very good resource web site. I used to recommend WebMD and MayoClinic.com, but now I will be checking with and recommending Healthline.com as a first resource. :)

    Good Morning Y'all

Up with the loud chirpy birds. Too much annoyment for so early in the day. That is why cats bite their heads off. Not being grouchy...just factual :)

JunieB ~ Dang......Fibro flares when stressed and arthritis is always happy to join in. Thank goodness you can still take Tramadol. I was able to continue Fioricet during my spine surgery last year. It works well with the Tramadol. I was also able to continue with taking Celedrin which is a supplement that works for inflammation. Wish I could do a "pain dance" to drive all your aches away. ((hugs))

A thoracic pillow would be divine - is there such a thing Sas?

Snakes are not all bad! Not cute, but useful. We have a tremendous amount of moles tearing up the lawn. Hoping Mr. Snake will eat them all up. I don't like it when they are in my house - funny story I'll share later. The one in the pic is a Black Racer. They are not venomous but they are feisty! They will lunge like they are going to attack and will even sometimes chase people. Years ago, it was somehow deemed that my DS, FFH and I were the resident snake handlers. Best time was when big manly macho neighbor had DS (10 at the time) and 5 foot me catch one for him :) We boxed the critter up and released him out in the woods.

FeelingFeline - It's really true there aren't any snakes in Ireland? I know ST Patrick drove 'em out long ago. None of them slithered back?

Lookie - Bloody D is usually from Giardia . Easy to treat but so yucky until it clears up. Poor doggie. Hope whatever it is your pup is okay.

M0mmy has a GAH ( Grumpy Arse Husband) may he turn into a HAH (Happy Arse Husband) soon :)

Off to see yet another wizard, this time RO.......DS is driving. We will have fun <3

Loverley ~ I'm putting in a call to you for another Wacky Wednesday!

Sensi, I had this in storage, it was posted by Fierce Bluebird, our Khristine . The bluebird in the topic box is for her. She passed a couple of years ago. When I repost it or send it to someone, it's a twofold post.

I love my Knitted Knockers! They are light and soft and warm. Unlike my silicone prosthetic which is heavy and cold when first worn, then it later causes me to sweat.

I wear my knitted knockers inside a regular bra or tucked in the pocket of a mastectomy bra. They are beautiful, and a godsend to those of us with an uneven mastectomy scar.

    Sas,

Yes I've seen those online, just haven't gotten around to ordering any yet.  I do plan on putting an order in and trying them out.  Thanks for the reminder ;).

Hubby is a bit happier today. First cast is off but they put him in a second cast until the 13th. Orthopedist didn't tell us originally tell us that he was going to have PT. Got hit with that out of the blue today. His orthopedist really ticked me off with the attitude that I have to continue to carry the burden of doing everything and hubby just is supposed to sit around watching tv. My DH didn't say anything to his orthopedist but when we left, he told me as soon as the cast is off, he is going to do as much as he can without setting back his recovery

Wish I were closer, I'd come give you a hand and a hug! I think I've totally worn myself out with the pool and finishing up the garden, but I'll recharge my batteries for you!

Mommy all the best to you and DH. Hopefully you can muddle through. Or better.

Shep Re St. Patrick. Not only did he drive all the snakes out of Ireland, he drove out their fossilised remains as well. In fact he drove out all traces that snakes ever existed in Ireland!

    junieb Posts: 945

Ok Feline, I need to move to Ireland. Yeah! NO snakes.

Smaarty - Thank you for the link to that pattern.

Wenchlori - You and I seem to be on the same path in regard to trying to do all of our spring cleaning, etc. before surgery. We'll both need the rocovery time to come back from the cleaning & surgery. I hope your surgery goes well & your recovery is speedy.

Shep - The fibromyalgia & osteoarthritis are quite inconvenient. Looking forward to getting my Relafen back. Also, Palliative Care had told me to try a Tumeric Supplement and I had run out, but got my new supply today. I think it helped. Yeah!

Sas - I learn something new everyday here. I have never seen or even heard of "Knitted Knockers" Are they covers for a breast prosthetic?

Ok, good night ladies, I'm off to bed.

  • feelingfeline
    feelingfeline Posts: 5,143

JazzyJune the knitted knockers are the actual prosthetic themselves.

If they are like "Awesome Breast Forms" they will be filled with a light, washable, artificial fibre, like you might buy in a craft shop for stuffing a quilt or a hand sewn decoration.

Awesome Breast Forms are another similar group who originated in the US and have members knitting and crocheting all round the world. They are here

    http://awesomebreastforms.org/

The volunteers at Awesome Breast Forms donate the materials and postage costs themselves so there is no cost to the BC patient.

I can testify to their work as I have received a beautiful piece of work from one of their volunteers. It came with extra stuffing so that you could alter the form if necessary or refill it if it needed after time. I wear prosthesis very seldom but when I do theirs is my go to one as it is soooo much lighter than the silcone one.

Feline glad you fielded that one. You did way way better than I could have. Repost it on the Flat sisters if you will, pretty please. I posted Kristine's post a few place yesterday.

Junie, see felines post :) Kristine really liked them.

DS Stephen coming home in the next hour from Tampa. Going to pull the Mom card about doing the lawyer thing with fixing Donnie's child support. Donnie's kids are 21 and 32 and still paying support. Huge story. Ridiculous story. The laws are so crazy. It's an unpopular subject so no one wants to discuss it. Not letting DS off the hook this time. Last time he denied help it cost me 4000$. I thought the system was injust and I was willing to correct an injustice. I only made it worse b/c I got a bad lawyer. Of course, I didn't know the lawyer was a schmuck. Only learned it the hard way. If DS doesn't cooperate this time........................................................

Lori, I meant to ask what surgery you will have in less than 2 weeks. You must have been working really hard preparing for you to sleep well at night....good side effects.

Ms. Sas, I can't seem to open the link to the NASH. Thank God the bright yellow stool doesn't occur that often (maybe 3-4 times a year). I know my body doesn't digest fat properly with the removal of the gallbladder and maybe even prior.

Did I miss the Wacky Wednesday call yesterday, ShepK? Today is Traveling Wednesday for us. Heading south to Oceanside for a week. Unfortunately, we are in LA traffic and it is not even rush hour yet. Not proud to say that LA won the worst traffic in the nation. image

I had to take Mitzy to the sitter yesterday evening. The girl has good memory. As we approached the sitter's front door, Mitzy got really anxious and started to pull me away. For a skinny little thing she is quite strong. The back of my right hand is still sore. Jill texted us earlier to inform us that Mitzy is bonding beautifully with her 11 year old son. She sent us pictures and updates of Mitzy. Such peace of mind knowing that our baby is in good hand. This is much better than to have her at a boarding place where she would have to be in the kennel most of the time.

Loveroflife, I will be having a double modified radical mastectomy with immediate TEs. I was going to have a MX on the left with just a lift and implant on the right. My BS decided it best to remove my right breast also. She said the right has some pretty dense tissue and she doesn't want to take the chance of cancer hiding there also. I cringed and said ok. The waiting for the past 3 months has not been fun

    Scared

Whenchie, you have viewed the stuff I posted? I know you are on the June group. Please, consider talking with your docs. Actually, be pushy with them. It's hard when change is occurring and not proven to decide what to do. But if the request for ketolorlac is not against your overall condition, then push for it. You know the stats on TNBC. Anything that can give you an edge is good.

Loverly There you just did it again --yellow stools only 3-4 times a year.......... Girl..........taking a history from you is like my yard that has Bermuda, Augustine, Johnson, Bahia, and clover. ...............Get thee to a GI doc. Stop playing with your health. STOP. I love you muchly

Feline - Thank you for the explanation on the knitted knockers. That's really cool. Literally! Anything silicone is so hot and uncomfortable to wear.

Sas - Just wanted to let you know that my MO's office called today to let me know that despite her being an associate professor at the hospital in Portland, she doesn't have privileges. But she also wants me to skip the June Faslodex treatment and restart in July when I'm back from rehab. Apparently the Faslodex already increases my risk of developing a blood clot and that added to me being less active post-surgery, she feels it's best to wait. So that's one concern off my list. However, being that my cancer has been stable for 21 months, it makes me a bit nervous to be skipping treatments. But what are you gonna do.

I hope your DS sees the light and doesn't resist his Mother.

Loverly - Funny pic you posted for Sas. Also glad that Mitzy is in a comfortable/safe place. So glad I don't have to deal with that traffic. Yikes! Enjoy your time in So. Cal.

Do you remember that I had told you that I ordered my Garden of Life products through iherb? Well they've just gotten on my last nerve and I will no longer be shopping from them. They've made significant changes in how they handle customer service, plus I had problems with their wedsite which caused me to be charged for duplicate orders to the sum of $132.00. And today I received the probiotic I ordered, which was delivered warm with melted gel packs. Instead of just giving me a credit, they want me to return the item before giving me a credit. The probiotic is ruined and cannot be used by another customer. I'm seriously considering making a report to the BBB.

How has your experience been with VitaCost?

Wenchlori - The modified radical mx I'm familiar with, but what is a TE? I hope it all goes well.

Susan - how are you doing? How often do you have your chemo treatments?

Hey Shep, Lookie, Purple, Jazzygirl, and everyone else.

    Goodnight & sleep well!

    Good morning everyone!

Sas, I have reviewed all of your posts, you are a treasure trove of information, thank you so very very much. I have my pre-op with my PS on Monday and an appointment with my BS and my surgery pre-op on Wednesday. It would be great if I could remember where I've seen all of your posts so I can print them out (with your permission of course) and take them with me so I don't look like a dummy and I can give credit where credit is due. I'm trying to keep a level head being this close to my surgery date, but the freaking out part that I wasn't doing thelast few months I'm making up for this week! Yikes!
