I am rather chagrined to report that I think he is actually enjoying the extra attention.
There is a lady in our area who offers pet cremation services (for a small fee). Last week we got back Oreo's ashes; in a beautiful homemade box with his named engraved on the top (with the ashes tucked in a black velvet cloth). She also sent a plaque with the inscription "In Loving Memory of Oreo", the Rainbow Bridge poem, and a cat's paw print. So very touching & well done. We buried Oreo's ashes in the backyard next to another beloved cat & DS's not so beloved hamster (not so beloved by me anyway, as I don't really consider rodents as pets!).
