How tremendously valuable is the power of joy and laughter to enliven our soul as we go forward to meet our goals.  Laughter can lift us over the high ridges and lighten up the dark valleys in a way that makes life much easier. A happy heart generates a forcefield of love and joy in which doubt, fear, disaster, and dismay have no power to interrupt the universal flow of good. And in some instances, laughter has been considered to be a high form of prayer!  Truly, when you are in the consciousness of the joy of spirit, you are praying from the very heart of your being.

Be back later with some memes. I am a bit better this a.m. With daylight my thoughts generally do get a little better and it looks much nicer today than those long days of rain and gray we have had lately. That really gets to me.

I am still upset that Trump is allowed to call many things emergencies so as to un-leash more power and control for himself. The upset certainly does extend to those in Congress who are giving up their power and letting him get away with it. I do hope this tariff situation GETS to them enough to start to take matters in hand.

The desire and or in-ability to call this person what he really is. is highly upsetting as well. The evilness, stupidity, and dementia along with his other mental deficiencies is entirely destructive, but so many in Congress right now want to pretend apparently that their hands are tied. No such thing. You are just abdicating because you have no spine. Hopefully, at least for some the coming elections will produce enough to one to do something — whether it is enough or not is the question. The longer you wait, you know — and it does seem at the moment that Democrats will have to get themselves elected to start to right the ship again. Boy, how old it gets.

Well, we can hope this time out to have a careful reading and truly set things up where REAL fixes get put into place for a lot of the disaster that happened way too easily. I hope we have at last learned that not EVERYBODY is suitable to run for our highest office. That worked for a long time, but the level of greed and dishonestly in the world nowadays I think cancels that idea. I hope we can fix it.

Well Ruth, you have definitely outdone yourself. First I'm so glad you put the first meme in. I had read elsewhere that there were no upsets, no brawling, stabbings or other intimidating events during the March. That was amazing but it does show people who care to pay attention and remember who the DEMOCRATS really are. I am always full of such hope and delight when I read things like that, but I also stand back just a tiny bit until I see it at least once more — and in your meme, I did.

As to the second one. It certainly was un-expected, but so perfect. How often these last couple of months we have felt the need to wallop Trump squarely or some other person, like Musk and even were that possible they are nowhere nearby. I could just feel the deep and almost total satisfaction of gigging all those who have caused their misery since Jan. this yr.

Excellent question. I do think many second thoughts and some possibly un-uttered (at least yet) regrets.

So true and Trump already threatening China with more - 50% because they matched him. The war, at least with China seems to be on.

I think what he REALLY knows about it is that people like himself will mainly be okay — he also wants the chaos and upset because it helps his deconstruction and destruction plans greatly. We are going to be working to hard to try and keep out heads above water to bring him to heel.

How sad to have so little conscience you can't man up to who you are. People ALWAYS notice and you are making it worse and a lot more evident.

BREAKING: Donald Trump pours fuel on America's raging economic fire by threatening a jaw-dropping additional 50% tariff on Chinese imports — and his reason is absolutely absurd.

MAGA is forcing us headfirst into a full-blown recession...

"Yesterday, China issued Retaliatory Tariffs of 34%, on top of their already record setting Tariffs, Non-Monetary Tariffs, Illegal Subsidization of companies, and massive long term Currency Manipulation, despite my warning that any country that Retaliates against the U.S. by issuing additional Tariffs, above and beyond their already existing long term Tariff abuse of our Nation, will be immediately met with new and substantially higher Tariffs, over and above those initially set," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Of course, the Chinese tariffs were a direct response to Donald Trump's tariffs which were themselves devised according to a harebrained formula involving trade deficits. Trump wants to hit the entire world with damaging tariffs and somehow expects them to not hit back.

"Therefore, if China does not withdraw its 34% increase above their already long term trading abuses by tomorrow, April 8th, 2025, the United States will impose ADDITIONAL Tariffs on China of 50%, effective April 9th," Trump continued.

"Additionally, all talks with China concerning their requested meetings with us will be terminated! Negotiations with other countries, which have also requested meetings, will begin taking place immediately. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" he added.

If Trump shuts down negotiations with China, the economy will remain locked in its current death spiral until Americans are reduced to abject poverty en masse. Nothing will be gained. Everything could be lost.

Trump and his billionaire cronies will be insulated from the crash by their immense wealth while the rest of us suffer and watch our savings reduced to ash. Prices will skyrocket. Millions of seniors could be forced to postpone or come out of their retirements.

Since Trump has already imposed a 20% tariff on Chinese imports, these new duties could push the effective tariff rate as high as 70% — which would grind trade between the two nations to a halt.

There is no limit to how bad things might get.

This is what I referenced above. The people who won't be affected will be fine but the rest of us are going to be in a world and I do mean world of hurt.

BREAKING: Democratic Senator Brian Schatz strikes a crushing blow against Donald Trump as he expands his historic hold on MAGA nominees to include 50 new names.

And he wasn't even close to done there...

With these new holds, Schatz has now halted over 300 Trump nominees in protest of Trump's flagrant "lawlessness." Additionally, he's blocking a slate of foreign affairs bills.

The new holds include Trump's nominee for Labor Department inspector general as well as his pick to lead the Office of Personnel Management. The holds span more than a dozen agencies and departments, including the State Department.

The nine bills that Schatz is blocking recently passed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee — meaning that Trump likely thought that they'd be sailing through to his desk — but now they're held up as Schatz demands better oversight of this corrupt administration.

The holds are also intended to protest Trump's gutting of the federal government and his disastrous tariffs that are quickly destroying the U.S. economy.

While some nominees can still be confirmed through a more circuitous process, Schatz's hold ensures that they will be dramatically delayed.

"Their lawlessness is escalating and they are intentionally destroying the economy, and so I don't think we should make anything easy going forward," Schatz told Axios.

"Until they start complying with the law and until I hear from Marco Rubio in the Foreign Relations Committee, we're just not going to be cooperative," he added.

"You can't be a senator in private. If you're going to stand up to the president, people have to see you doing it," Schatz said.

This is exactly what we need from Democrats right now. Donald Trump is singlehandedly destroying the United States of America. The time to resist is now.

Truly what we have needed so much. Someone to apply whatever brakes can be applied. Make them sweat good and often.

Well, I truly love that entry, Ruth. I guess I (like many of you) don't really wish anyone's death really, but I do wish him very DESPERATELY out of the way and out of our hair. The destruction of our government right before our eyes as well as the fact of how many people seem at the moment to be perfectly okay with that. That is a painful and very difficult thing. To not be wished well is very understandable since people hurt others all the time, but to take something like an entire government and destroy it — way, way beyond.

Seems Roberts is at it again giving in, allowing Trump more time before having to bring Mr. Garcia back from El Salvadore. Other things in addition seem on the front burner again. Salvadore deportations allowed through Texas if the people are properly vetted at first. Well, having it done in Texas removes Judge Boasberg who put the kibosh on things for now. Not happy about that, but it will slow things dramatically if people have to be cleared and hopefully will ferret out any people caught up like Garcia who should not be taken.

There is almost nothing going on, on the right that I can condone at all. I hope that there are more people than ever who will wake up. I do think a lot of people on the right are SEEING things from a different perspective since the tariff issues blossomed. Trump is not interested in NO tariffs. He says he will negotiate with some, but others will get little leeway — like China. No matter what people who thought they would find favor will not be doing so. Something that has I think taken them by a fair amt. of surprise.
