My fellow mastectomy crew! What do you sleep in?
I had a single mastectomy last year and my 7yr old son knows, but has never seen the scar. I sleep with a little soft boob pillow in a tank top to keep up the illusion of shape, but it's just a little insert thing that they gave me at the hospital to wear post op. I think I want to keep sleeping with something in for a few more years but I have no idea what!

sarahjunefox: Is the illusion of shape for you or your son? I don’t think many of us worry about our sleeping apparel. It is a reprieve from social pressure and all about comfort. Your son will accept your shape if you present it in a positive light. My son felt he was closer to my heart when he gave me a hug. If this is important for you, then pursue whatever options make you feel good. I do believe that giving your chest and scar a break from the friction of anything binding is a good idea. How about bulky pajamas that don’t highlight anything. If you want to feel sexy, there are many options for lingerie with inserts. Do what feels good. But please don’t feel that you need to hide yourself from those you love 💗

I love that attitude, thanks so much! The illusion of shape is definitely for my son. I'm working up to feeling like I'm not needing it but I'm not quite there yet.
