Nervous Nelly. Breast cancer spread to lymph nodes??
Hi!
I was diagnosed with low grade, multifocal IDC and finished treatment about a year ago. I was lucky and didn't need chemo (oncotype # 18), so did lumpectomy and radiation and have been taking tamoxifen.
I noticed a lymph node on my neck had been swollen for a few months, so I went back to my doctor and was sent for a CT scan and blood work. CT shows another enlarged right supraclavicular lymph node, 1.5cm. Blood work does not indicate an infection.
Going for a biopsy to determine whether this is a recurrence, or something harmless. Wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar? Trying not to panic!

Hello, so sorry you've been dealing with lymph node issues which can be causes for concern, although there could possibly be benign reasons. It's good they found your enlarged supraclavicular node so it can get checked out. That particular supraclavicular node might be your most significant concern for now because it's over 1cm in size, which is what I've read during my own experiences.
Yes, I've had multiple shotty, enlarged and matted lymph nodes, all of which had been proven to be benign for various reasons. Hoping yours are proven to be benign also.

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it - so glad yours have proven to be benign, and very reassuring to read that. It's just one node it seems, but I did do some reading (I'm someone who needs to have as much info as possible) and I agree that this particular location is concerning. Still, I know it could also be nothing to worry about.
I'm waiting for the biopsy clinic to schedule me, hopefully it won't be too long. As we all know, the waiting is the worst part and I'm particularly bad at it! I will update once I know more.
