6 Month Follow Up
In April I went for a diagnostic mammogram of my left breast. The radiologist had several mammography pictures taken and also a magnifying mammography round of pictures taken. He stated that they found an Indeterminate 6 mm group of tight calcifications in the outer breast at middle depth and that a stereotactic guided biopsy of the left breast calcifications be done. I went back a week later and after several attempts at repositioning, he decided that he couldn't get a good biopsy and said that I should wait 6 months and come back for another round of diagnostic mammography pictures and possible biopsy if there are signs of growth. My mother had Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in her late 50's. I am 51 years old.
My 6 month appointment is coming up on October 6th and I am getting very anxious. Any words of encouragement or advice is greatly appreciated.

Perhaps exercise or sitting down with a good book or catching up on a phone call with an old friend would help your nerves?

Hi @carolinagirl74 -
One of the hardest things with any kind of medical stuff is the waiting and wondering. Things do get better (either way) once you know whether or not you are dealing with something.
Hopefully it will be 'nothing'.
If it turns out to be bc, the good news is that it sounds like it is very small and likely very treatable.
We are here for you and will get you through it if the result requires treatment.
Take Care.

Thank you! My Mom fought two types of cancer, breast was one of them. You are so right, the wait is so hard. Thank you again!
