Diagnosed with Stage 1a IDC in april 2025. Had excision surgery, 19 sessions of whole breast radiation and now i have been taking a low dose of Tamoxifen, 10mg every other day for 2 months. Since taking Tamoxifen I have had pelvic pressure, low back pain, and painful bladder syndrome. Anyone else have this? My oncologist is vague about if this is a side effect.

    Hello @enojada.

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing these symptoms.

Tamoxifen is well known for side effects like hot flashes, vaginal dryness/discharge, and irregular periods. However, there are some less common side effects that can overlap with what you describe. For example, pelvic or lower abdominal discomfort or pressure can sometimes be related to changes in the uterine lining, and low back pain may be influenced by hormonal changes affecting muscles and joints.

It’s important to contact your oncologist or gynecologist to discuss these symptoms and rule out anything that might need attention.

Hopefully other will chime in to share their experience with Tamoxifen.

Hope this helps and we hope you get some relief soon.
