Demolition crews have begun tearing down part of the White House to build President Trump’s long-desired ballroom — despite his pledge that construction of the $250 million addition wouldn’t “interfere” with the existing building.
****Of all the horrible, despicable things this administration has done, this probably bothers me the most. He is literally destroying The People's House.

Totally unnecessary expense in the view of many. This is not Mar A Lago Ii. It is the people's house.

risinggoddess, welcome if you are supportive of anti-trump politics. If you are MAGA, this is not a forum for you. Not trying to be unwelcoming, but trying not to cause ill-feelings. Thank you.

Something that would be fun to see done by whomever moves into the WH next, take all the tacky gold embellishments from the Oval Office and auction them off. The resulting proceeds would go towards restoring the rose garden. I'm not sure about how taxpayer money and who "owns" the festoons might scuttle this idea, but it would be great to see. Purging the federal buildings of his handprints and restoring some of the damage.

Never thought I would ever agree with anything Reagan said, but I do agree with this.

Dammit! First they made us agree with Ann Coulter, then MTG. Now they're making us agree with Reagan?!

Why are we feeding the members of Congress? They make a decent salary. I never had a job where they provided pay for or free meals. Now they are on recess, they should not be paid at all.
No work, no pay seems to be their mantra for our yhe unfortunately, so it should apply to them as well.
For jury duty I used to get $10/day and a $4 voucher for lunch which bought nothing much.
