Hello to all who are starting/started chemo in October. I hope you are feeling as well as you can. I just had my first infusion (TC) this past Wednesday and am now injecting Granix. I was curious if anyone had any advice or comments on how they have tolerated Granix. Thank you.

Hi everyone, here is my Granix experience- today was my last self-injection (I injected once a day for 5 days starting on Day 3). The injections ended up being less scary than I had anticipated, the needles are small and injecting them in my ample tummy area was pretty quick and very little pain. I didn’t notice any side effects until today, when I felt soreness that comes and goes, most frequently in my hip bones and my shoulder blades. A dose of Tylenol and a nap has helped.

Started chemo Sept 30, had my mammogram in Aug so still kinda shell-shocked!. Keytruda,Taxol, Carboplatin.so far symptoms are manageable….hair just started to fall out which is expected but still kind of distressing to see. I guess that means its working?

Hi @adeena1 - likewise! I was also diagnosed early August from a routine mammogram, had a lumpectomy 3 weeks later. I am starting infusion #2 later this week and am suddenly having my hair shedding like crazy. Up until then, I was just managing side effects that have gone quiet for now. Good luck with your ongoing treatment!, I hope you feel as well as possible. 😍
The moderators sent me this link to the Hair Hair Hair thread which is ALL about hair. Interesting to read others' experiences. (I hope the link works)1 -

Hi Everyone, This is a quiet group so I hope it means you’re all weathering chemo ok. In case my experience is helpful for anyone, my 2nd infusion was a similar experience to the first. In both I used ice packs on my hands and feet. They were really very cold and eventually got a little painful so I had to take them off about half way to give me a chance to warm up a bit before putting them back on. So far I have not had any neuropathy. (I did not elect to use cold caps, and predictably lost my hair.) I have had some weird sandpaper-y feeling in my mouth and tongue about a week after infusion (which is going away) and definitely a blunted sense of taste, that has persisted. Food enjoyment is not the same but I haven’t had any nausea. Being able to get a good night’s sleep makes a huge difference in how I feel. My energy is slowly coming back and hoping this is the case for the last week+ before my next infusion. I hope someone can share whether their infusions seemed to all be similar side effects or if some side effects accumulated/ got worse towards the end. Hang in there everyone! I wish you the best with your treatments and recoveries.
