  • @cookie54 Fantastic news. Woohoo for you ! So glad Xeloda is doing the job … I am so happy for you Andrea. Now you just need an Eagles win this weekend and all will be well on the earth plane lol! ❤️❤️

Thanks Rhonda @rlschaller , lol you got that right! Enjoy this chilly yet beautiful Fall day❣️

  • @rlschaller I'm so glad to hear that your skin mets have been dealt with by the radiation, and that it is done. Hope that you are okay with your arm/shoulder movement now that you're finished. Good that you are taking a work break; our bodies can only do so much.

That's a mercy that you can go back on the Keytruda, since now you have the gene affected. We shall hope that it works in tandem with the cmf and is well tolerated. That part is important too!

@cookie54 Wonderful news Andrea that you had a stable scan! We can hear the sigh of relief!

I've been sidelined by a combination of headache/general weakness/inability to walk straight for the last week. Saw my MO Thursday and she did a lot of in-office tests and ordered a brain scan, which I hope is very soon. I'm wanting to get the weekend over with so that scan will be forthcoming. We shall see!

    Hello and hugs to all.

@scgal08 Thank you! Ugh I'm sorry you're sidelined with annoying symptoms. I will be praying that your scan is scheduled asap tomorrow! We all can empathize with you and the waiting, fingers crossed. Big hugs and positive vibes your way.🤞❤️

  • @scgal08 Ah Rita what a drag ! I hate when those annoying “what now” symptoms appear. How disconcerting. I wonder if vertigo which comes with aging some times might be the culprit? Oy veh. ❤️ We are in your pockets for scans and next steps. Stay present in the love that you are and surrounded by ..as best as you can. And As @cookie54 Andrea said big hugs and positive vibes your way, every day.

Hi ladies how's everyone feeling these days? Any plans for Thanksgiving? All ok ,here bummed that the Eagles lost to Dallas yesterday but had fun at a watch party. I'll be home for the holiday , will be a quiet one this year. My brother will come over and the kids will be here. I'm actually glad in a way not to entertain a large crowd. I will be hosting Christmas and will have a a big group then so one holiday is enough for me lol.

I got through the bulk of my appointments the last 2 weeks, now just a few more before the end of the year.I hope everyone is doing well and treatments are being kind to you.♥️

  • Hi there Gals ❤️
@cookie54 Andrea so sorry the Eagles lost. I watched the game (after first watching the Giants loose lol) and thought of you. Glad you had fun at the watch party though. I actually like watching with the sound off and music playing in the background. I sort of watch that way, it’s nice to have it on in the background, without commercials and commentary. Your Thanksgiving gathering sounds lovely, and homey. And yes one big do is enough per year. Look forward to hearing all about it. 🎁 Yeah for appointments that are completed being over and moving on toward the last few, and then into the new year with a sense of forward positive motion.
This year my son and his wife are going to her folks house for Thanksgiving as we alternate years, and coming to us on Saturday. I’m still having the local restaurant make the meal and DH will pick it up for us on Thursday, and then I’ll reheat everything for the kids on Saturday. I used to cook and now this is easiest. My sister and her family are also doing Saturday, so we’ll FaceTime so all can wish each other well.

I’m doing well , had the second infusion of Keytruda + CMF. Fatigue is the biggest se, but is getting better each day, as are the Mets on my back and side, thank goodness. MSK dermatology gave me a steroid cream for the itch and redness, and wound care instructions for my arm. The large Mets cluster there has melted away, and is healing/draining well, so moving in the right direction finally. What a strange disease! Day at a time … but the Mets responding to the radiation has been the only treatment that has worked for my skin . May it continue to heal and never come back🤞! I too have a few more appts (lymphedema doctor and eye doctor) and then call it a day till January.

@scgal08 Rita thinking of you and sending loving vibes your way.

Happy Thanksgiving to all reading along. 💐❣️

@rlschaller Wow that Giants game! I watched the 4th quarter of that one and was so disappointed they lost since they had played so well. I should probably take a page out of your book and have music in the background since I can get a little crazy lol. It's a great distraction for me and I love the excitement of it. I am overjoyed to hear that these pesky mets have met their match!!! I commend you for your calm perseverance through all the changes you have been dealing with.Continued prayers that you improve with each passing day.🤞Your holiday sound perfect. We don't need to always have to be together on the actual day but just be together! Oh I hear ya on ordering food I will be ordering some of it for Christmas too. That's our gift to ourselves to be able to relax and enjoy a delicious meal.😊

  • Hello @rlschaller and @cookie54! You gals have been busy going about life and enjoying the most recent holiday.

So wonderful to hear Rhonda that your skin mets are on the retreat! Long may that continue. Yes, such a strange disease. Who would have thought that BC and skin mets would be connected. Fatigue seems to be a common denominator with us cancer types; I'm certainly dealing with it now and finding it more difficult/takes longer to recuperate from chemo.

How is your meditation project going?

Andrea, yay for a sports distraction. You ladies have the right idea about ordering food for these big occasions. Something to look into here …

I have a brain MRI coming up on Sunday to investigate what was spotted on there in a CT scan. Most likely radiation after that when the RO gets her plan in place. Should be … interesting. At least the prescribed steroid for my wonky head has helped in the interim.

I hope for you both that your year-end appointments will be done with soon, with all good results of course!

    Take care.

@scgal08 Hi,happy to see ya! Sorry you have been dealing with increased fatigue. It's so hard when our mind says go but our body lags behind.Glad to hear the steroid is working and I will be in your pocket on Sunday during your MRI. I will be praying for good strength and good results. Hugs.❤️

I will miss yet another meeting Wednesday,I feel like I always have a conflict! My hubby needs a heart cath Wednesday, long story but he is a heart failure patient and now a change has occurred on his EKG. He has been having mild chest pain, sometimes I feel we barely come up for air and one of us has an issue. Such is life I guess I hope for the best but mentally prepare for the worst.

@rlschaller HI there, wishing you a good week❣️

  • Hi gals ❤️🐈‍⬛🍂🍃🙏💐 @cookie54 @scgal08 and all reading along

Rita so nice to hear from you ! You’ve been on my mind and in my heart ❤️. I was wondering how you were, in your pockets for Sundays MRI as well. Just imagine Andrea and I are there calmly sending good vibes. So sorry an issue on the CT requires intervention. But glad they caught it, whatever it is. Many here on the threads have had partial and whole brain radiation , and it was not too onerous, if that is what is called for. So glad the steroid has helped ! We do what is needful lol ! What a disease , gosh. I used to think being an artist required being nimble, flexible, and able to function in chaos. It simply prepared me for aging and MBC. And yes, fatigue is our companion. I have found this wonderful Ayurvedic tea for energy which has helped a lot. It has Tumeric, peppermint,, cloves, and cinnamon..it’s delicious . And I make a pot every day, that and the waning of the radiation and chemo effects help lol. No progress yet on the meditation project for radiation patients, they are still looking for funding, and bco did not follow up with me, and I’ve been too busy to follow up as well.

Andrea I too will miss another Wednesday call, my work day just doesn’t allow the time to take off for the calls anymore. Sorry about your hubby experiencing chest pains. I can’t imagine how stressful that must be for you both. Yes, prepare and not dwell is a good practice. Hope tomorrow’s appointment goes well !in your pockets for sure. ❤️❤️. Hope your thanksgiving was lovely.

The lymphedema in my arm has gotten a little worse, and I start PT tomorrow for lymphedema therapy, once a week I’m actually looking forward to it. The skin Mets made it difficult to wear my sleeve all the way up to my shoulder, so my bicep has swelled a bit. They’ve ordered a new sleeve and I get pt again.

    Hugs to all 🙏❤️😘

  • @cookie54 Andrea, so sorry to hear that it is now your husband's turn for medical attention. Sending him and you best wishes for that now-past procedure and its efficacy in solving the problem. Hope that you are doing well!

@rlschaller Thank you for your kind words as ever. Good vibes I do need. Anything going on in the brain is a scary thing to consider in an already-scary situation. That is so good that you have found a tea that gives you energy; whatever works! Ha, yes, to being nimble. We keep getting caught on the wrong foot it seems. Talk about having to pivot!

I hope that the PT lymphedema therapy works for your arm. Do let us know how that works out.

It's too bad about the Wednesday meet-ups. It would be nice to see you gals.

Take care all, and have a good weekend.

@scgal08 Thanks for your well wishes, happy to say all looked good! Relieved we ruled out any additional heart issues. Hope your MR went smoothly, when do you have your next appt to review results? You ladies are always in my daily morning prayers. Hope to see ya in the January zoom, fingers crossed,

@rlschaller Ugh sorry the lymphedema has increased, hope the new sleeve and PT helps. I know that can be very uncomfortable and god knows who needs anything else! Well happy to hear you found a boost in the tea, agree with Rita whatever it takes. Hope your still able to enjoy some sunny yet cold walks with your hubby. I still bundle up and go unless it's super windy. I need the fresh air for my sanity, hope it's a quiet winter for us with snow.

Hi to all here and may everyone have a peaceful and restful night❤️

  • @cookie54 I have a phone appointment with my RO Friday morning, so I'm rather anxious about what the plan is.

Re Wednesday Zooms, I have a standing commitment those days, but if I leave it early can squeak into the end of the Zoom meeting. Hope to do that one of these times.

    Take care all.

@scgal08 Sending strength and hugs your way for Friday💕

  • @scgal08 sending love and light , and peace of mind as best as you can. Counting the breath 1-10 for 5 minutes can be helpful. Accept and relax, is the mantra. It’s always anxiety provoking setting up a new plan of any kind. Consder @cookie54 and I in your pockets for tomorrow’s appt. Let us know how it goes.

Finished my appts for this year. Lymphedema is already better, flare up resolving. Cmf + K are keeping me stable, Mets have retreated so far, amazing, just dealing with radiation redness and peeling .. but no nodules! I have a small one week extension on treatments , so go back Jan 7 for infusion and Jan 9 MSK follow-up. Even my Signatera results were lower, MSK mo was so happy.

It is chilly outside, but need to go for a walk and get eggs and apple sauce for biscuit baking …. Hugs to all ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • @rlschaller Good that your lymphedema is resolving and that you are stable. That's certainly what we strive for. Good for having your appointments done for the year and even better that your skin mets are retreating! Have they reached the stage where they don't bother you too much?

I had a brief call with my RO this morning and she suggested right off the bat that we need to meet in person, so that will be next Wednesday. Good thing, as it really is not a phone matter.

Yesterday I saw my MO and because she said that the skin mets are worse, that I should quit Trodelvy. The next option is Eribulin, which you have mentioned. It's not a particularly good drug; those are in my past. So I will wait on the RO appointment and go from there.

@cookie54 Thank you for your good wishes, as ever! Hope that you're doing well.

  • @scgal08 sorry Trodelvy failed. I hope the Eribulin works for you. Big hugs ❤️❤️❤️❤️ You lasted longer than I did on Trodelvy. You might ask the RO about radiating the skin Mets, if that’s an option. I’ve had success with it, even areas that were radiated before. I know you have to talk about brain radiation and that can be scary. We are here for you. However we can be helpful. Sending light and love .

My Mets are gone now, so I’m finally comfortable for the first time since September. The CMF + Keytruda so far is ok, had cycle 3 this week and no new Mets. Just flushed today. Scans again probably in January, so we’ll see if the chest lymph nodes are stable too. Step at a time , day at a time.

Wishing you and @cookie54 and all who read along joy and peace of mind .

@scgal08 Sorry to hear that Trodely isn't quite doing it's job. We will remain optimistic that Eribulin will be the one to kick cancer's butt! I'm wrapping you in a mega comfort hug and continued prayers for strength and health.

@rlschaller Wow what an amazing turnaround with your skin mets, finally comfortable!!! Amen. Yes one day at a time is all we can do. Hope your energy tea is giving you a nice boost.

    Wishing all a peaceful night.

@scgal08 Thinking of you , checking in to see how you are? I know it's always upsetting changing plans and hoping you have a definite plan in place by now. Hugs.

@rlschaller Hey there, wellness check… hope things are quiet on your end and your enjoying the holiday season. Did you celebrate Hanukkah?

Status quo here busy preparing for the holidays. Wanted to stop by and wish all a Merry Everything and happiness always.Peace , comfort and joy to all here💕

  • Happy Holidays gals 🥰❤️🎁 sending love and best wishes to all. May you find peace and joy in this time of year, surrounded by light and love.

@cookie54 Andrea I know you are having a big family gathering, hope you can enjoy the cooking and the company ! And someone else does the cleanup lol… big hugs ! Thank you for the wellness check, thinking of you and Rita @scgal08 often ❤️

We are doing it simple, defrosting the leftovers from thanksgiving for our Xmas meal. I baked cookies today, and will make pumpkin bread pudding tomorrow..just to be in the spirit of it all. Hanukkah was lovely, saw the kids and exchanged presents over the weekend. Yesterday DH and I went to the city for lunch at our favorite Peruvian restaurant and to see the Macys windows and Bryant park Xmas shops and lights. Ice skaters (not us) were fun to watch, and hot chocolate , it was perfect. Will make it over to Rockefeller center next week I think. Love being on vacation until January 5th. Feeling so good ! Grateful for the healing and each days increase in energy and range of motion. Doing my PT for my shoulder, and the radiation fatigue is gone. Next infusion not till Jan 7 so enjoying this normalcy of being.

    Love to all Rhonda

  • @cookie54 congrats on the Eagles win today and clinching a playoff birth by leading the division woohoo 🎉

And even the Giants won today .. I so enjoyed football Sunday today.
Hugs to all on a cold day in NJ ❤️❤️❤️

@rlschaller Rhonda I’m so glad that you enjoyed your holidays with your family. It sounds like you had a wonderful time ! So nice to have a winter break from work , enjoy! Happy to hear you are feeling well.
Love my football Sunday’s too. Boy the Eagles just squeezed out that win , got hairy at the end. Made some cream of chicken soup and relaxed to watch the game.

Unfortunately we have been on an emotional roller coaster since Christmas Eve .Our nephew was found unresponsive on Christmas Eve morning by his mom, which is my sister-in-law. He had several seizures at the hospital and was put on a ventilator. He had an MRI done on Saturday and it showed that he lost oxygen to his brain. We were devastated-to hear this. Yesterday he started to open his eyes a bit and they took him off the vent today! He is breathing Ok on his own and they are working on seeing if he has any deficits. We continue to pray that this healthy 21 year old will recover fully. They still don’t know what triggered all of this. Life can be so fragile, you just never know!🙏🏻

@scgal08How are you feeling ? How were your holidays?

Hi to all here hope you enjoyed time with family and friends this holiday season.

  • @cookie54 good morning and wrapping you and your family in big hugs and angels wings ❤️🙏. I’m so sorry to read about your nephew, my goodness I cant imagine the stress and the worry. I am so happy he is opening his eyes and beginning the recovery period. Life is so fragile. Much love to you and yours.

On this last Monday in December, a foggy day in NJ, and the birds are chirping on the branches of the tree outside our living room window. My husband puts out bird seed underneath for them to eat and store through the snow. The cats andI listen and watch with our morning coffee. Here’s hoping for a new year of beginnings of renewal and joy, small loving steps many times.

@rlschaller Happy New Year! Thanks for your well wishes for myself and my family. I ‘m happy to say my nephew is doing pretty good physically anyway not so much cognitively but hoping with therapy that will improve. We are so grateful that he is improving! I hope you enjoyed your winter break and I’m guessing you’ll be returning to work soon. As for me I’m trying to steer clear of all the colds and viruses running rampant in NJ right now. Seems like everyone around me has a touch of something. I have managed to get my outside walks in as long as it’s not too windy. I love being out in the cold fresh air when the sun is out like today, was nice!

    Thinking of you Rita ❤️
