Starting my 24th year of MBC de novo!
Yay! Today is the start of my 24th year after my dx of Stage 4 MBC de novo. Still hanging in here! Here's my history.....Dx’d in December, 2002. ER+, Pr-, Her2+++ Metaplastic BC. Had A/C & Taxotere. Left side was DCIS and Her2+++, but right side was tubular and Her2-.In 2004 my liver was filled with tumors. I had a liver resection, and then a clinical trial of then “New” Gemzar & Herceptin, which cleared out the mets in 9 months. Stayed on only Herceptin for 7 years, but had a chest node recurrence in 2012. Gemzar, Aromacin didn’t work. 3 years of Kadcyla along with Faslodex. When Kadcyla quit working, I had a Foundation One test which showed that my mets had turned to Her2- Somatic. Clinical trial of Poziotinib that got rid of the nodes in 8 days. But Poziotinib was so nasty and toxic that the trial has been ended. Now NED and have been on Xeloda and Herceptin for 8 years.

@denny123 They are making so many advancements with HER2+. It's amazing and wonderful, and a cure for it may be in sight. I am HER2 low, so I hope to benefit if my current treatment fails. Thanks for pioneering the way.

@tougholdcrow Thanks! Apparently I am both Her2+++ and Her2 low. If I have a recurrence, I will need another biopsy. Best wishes for you!

Just found this thread but it looks like it is stalled. Is anyone still posting here? I remember @cookie54 @tougholdcrow @denny123
I am so happy for @denny123 . I have been on oral meds for 9 1/2 years but they have all failed me now so we are trying Taxol. Any words of wisdom? I have not been on herceptin yet although I am still HER-2 negative. I am wondering whether it is worth the conversation with my MO since you are doing so well on it.

@intolight …thanks! This new forum format is so confusing and it is so hard to find our previous threads.
My former onc of 24 years has retired and my new onc has questioned why I am still on Herceptin. But, as I said…if it isn't broken….. Maybe it's because I am probably both Her2+++ and Her2-. That is possible for all of us, apparently.
He suggested that I switch to Enhertu, but the side effects aren't something that I want to deal with.
Where are your CA nodes? I had Taxotere in 2003 after A/C and I think that the SE's are about the same. It wasn't bad at all.
Praying for good results for you!

@intolight I will join everyone in hoping the very best from this new treatment and I hope the side effects aren't too overwhelming. I went through chemo at the beginning of my diagnosis and could tough it out ok. I wonder if any clinical trials might be available to you. There's a lot of wisdom in the clinical trials thread.
