@brutersmom So glad acupuncture helps you relax. We all need that. I have a weekly massage. Pricey—but as they say, “You can’t take it with you,” so I enjoy relaxing whenever I can.

I say, go as often as you can!

    Hugs, Pam 💗

Livinglifenow glad you enjoy your massages. There is something nice about the hands on of the massage but for me accupuncture has been even better. It has helped with so many things from stress, hot flashes, night sweats, and minor aches and pains. It doesn'doesn't hurt. The only thing I don't like is I have to lay on my back and I have postnasal drip from the Ibrance drying me out.

  • @brutersmom It sounds like you have found the perfect adjuvant “fitness” treatment! 😁

    So, so happy for you!

  • How is everyone doing? Getting lots of exercise walking around the malls shopping? I am pretty much shopped out, so most of my steps are to the mailbox or back and forth in my house. I try to get 7,000+ steps each day, as well as work with free weights and do floor exercises while watching Hallmark Christmas movies.

Wishing you all a fantastic week!

I’m still going to exercise classes 4 days a week. The Enhance Fitness class is on break so last week I went swimming instead. That’s my plan for the next couple weeks. It’s been too rainy here to do much walking, which I miss!

Hi everyone! I’m in the Bahamas this week (first time - def not the last!) and have been averaging 15k steps for last 3 days! Just proves I can still do it! So, new year, new beginnings. No excuses when I get home this weekend! I even have a treadmill in my house and a lovely trainer at my favorite JCC who has been patiently waiting for me to get up off my ass 😜 and become serious.

This year my mantra is get moving everyday! Please know you all are amazing & a great inspiration! THANK YOU!!!!!

Wishing everyone happy holidays and a wonderful new year’s!
CHEERS 🥂to a year of great health for all of us! ♥️

@eddiej Wow! I am so impressed with all your steps! So glad you are on a lovely trip to the Bahamas. Enjoy!

We will all be cheering you on when you return to keep up the movement.

@aj I’m so impressed that you make it to fitness classes 4 times a week. That is awesome. You are an inspiration.

    Hugs, Pam 💗

  • @eddiej Send some of that sun my way! Enjoy. I get tons of steps when I travel anywhere. It's good to get out there.

@brutersmom Acupuncture is great, and you are reminding me that I should make an appointment for that extra reeeelaaaaxation.

@aj @livinglifenow So inspiring that you are keeping the energy up. I just bought myself a present of a smart bicycle trainer so that I can bike in the house during these cold and icy winter months. I like to use Zwift and pretend I'm biking through some imaginary landscape. I guess that is my own version of escapism.

I have been reading about exercise and cancer. Ever since I had my knee replace I just have not gotten back into cardio. I do weightb training 3 days a week with about a five minute burner at the end, which is intense. Recommendations are 2 days weight and 3 days 30 minutes of cardio. I just can't find the motivation to do the 30 minutes. Not sure what I want to do.

@brutersmom Have you ever tried the bike for your cardio? That might be less stressful on the knee. I got myself one of those rings that tracks my fitness. I didn't want a smart watch and this one was less expensive than the aura ring. I'm finding it very helpful-it tracks my steps and makes me get moving. I'm back to doing weights-I try to get there 3 times a week but often it's just 2 times. But the weights make a big difference for me maintaining my strength. Wishing you all the best in the new year.

  • @tougholdcrow You inspired me to get on our exercise bike. 🚴‍♀️I managed 5 minutes! Really felt it in the thighs and lungs and heart. Great cardio.

@brutersmom I understand your issue with cardio since your knee replacement. I had one 4 years ago, followed a few months later by a large, extruded herniated disc. I was incapacitated for months. Going from a runner to barely shuffling along was so difficult. Also, impossible to get much cardio. Since my running days are long gone, I have invested in an inexpensive little step machine. It's pink! That way it's more noticeable when I see it sitting in the laundry room when I walk by. I usually do 1-2 minutes at a time. Great cardio and also really firms up my legs and glutes. I try to do several 1-2 minutes sessions a day; I don't always get there! I rarely do 30 minutes straight of any cardio activity, other than the occasional walk. Hope you find something that works for you.

Hi! I’m back from Bahamas and didn’t catch a cold or flu ( I did have vaccine)! Woohoo!! It worked out that the week I was away was my off week for Kisqali which helped my immune system I think.
All this talk about cardio so decided to join in. I plan on making the Tues 9am spin class at my gym this week and every week I’m in town and not sick. I used to go regularly and need to do so again. I go at my pace (which used to be great) and love spinning to the music. You all inspire me greatly and I will work to become an inspiration for you too.
Almost my one year cancerversary …. My January scans are coming up (1/8) and I pray they continue to show no progression.
wishing everyone good health and happiness in the new year!
    xoxo juliana ♥️

@eddiej Juliana, it sounds like biking is on the fitness menu for a lot of us!

So glad your trip was a healthy one. No fun being sick on vacation.

    Keep on spinning!
