CRP Protein High
Hello,
After being on letrozole for a few years, my CRP levels are high. They think that there is inflammation, I do have lymphedema but my Crp has never been high, Has anyone experienced this?

Hi @ab45, Lymphedema can cause inflammation due to the slow drainage of proteins. Letrozole causes musculoskeletal inflammation which often is helped by NSAIDs (anti inflammatories.)
Some people seem to be prone to inflammation. I have high CRP, a somewhat elevated WBC count and low IGG levels in my blood and spinal fluid which a doctor said are markers of secondary immunodeficiency. Adverse reactions to radiation, medications (not AIs as I don't take them) and infections have caused various problems all marked by elevated cytokine levels. The doctor told me I probably have some as yet unclassified gene that enables this and all I can do is take steps to prevent infections and treat any serious SEs that occur. Steroids really help but overuse can be dangerous.
Inflammation is a biomarker of most diseases and autoimmune conditions so symptoms are used to diagnose the root cause. If you have any physical symptoms it would be worth discussing this with your doctor in the event there is a treatable issue.

Thanks, I have not had this marker high since being diagnosed in late 2020. I suffer with Hashimoto and Graves but it has never been high. The first thought is something going wrong. Thanks!
