Good to hear from you, JWoo! I think doing what you can about the political situation (whether it's calling your representatives, donating to candidates & causes you support, marching or getting even more involved) and finding fun, interesting things to do in your personal life are both important to keeping us as mentally healthy as possible. I am sure there are many people who felt exactly the same in Germany after WWII & Germany has become a strong, good country. So, there is hope.💗

If you subscribe to Netflix, Nuremburg is now available. It is on the long side, but reflects what we are currently being exposed to politically. The acting is good and it seems to be historically correct. Highly recommend watching it.

After I saw Trump's "we can take out the whole of Iran in one night" speech yesterday, I felt sick to my stomach. I read today about Iranians families scrambling to get out of the way of the bombing that may come tonight. Betrayal mentioned the movie Nuremberg, which I would also recommend. A respected professor, John Mearsheimer, recently said that if they were tried at the Nuremberg trials, Trump and Netanyahu would both have been hanged. I don't support capital punishment for anyone, but feel they both certainly deserve to be in a jail cell.
You ladies must feel like prisoners of your evil government. But it's the American people like you are the ultimate solution. You are the resistance to this madness. We Canadians are behind you in that.

Thanks for weighing in with your support @littlemelons. Like many other Americans I feel sick to my stomach and would like nothing more than to see our whole grotesque administration behind bars. It feels as though we are standing on the tracks in front of a runaway train. We march, write and call our representatives and offer each other support. I pray that one day soon we will see the fruits of our labor and the whole world will be able to sleep better at night.

littlemelons, thank you for your support and understanding that not all Americans support the regime we are currently under. We have trips scheduled for Europe and dread that some will judge us based on the fool that we have as a fanatical leader.

Thanks, Betrayal. That was a nice rendition of Bella Ciao. Coincidentally we happened to be in Amsterdam on their Liberation Day a few years ago. They take it very seriously. They had a strong resistance movement during their occupation.
Trump and Vance are certainly not popular in Europe, except maybe in Hungary. I think most people know that a large majority of American people do not support Trump, this administration, or this senseless war, so I hope you won't be unfairly judged. Even the Iranians posted that they having nothing against the American people, just Trump and his fellow warmongers. Enjoy your trip!

I'm sure you've seen that the Trump administration has tried to bully the Vatican (which, if they actually believe in God, seems like a pretty bad idea). Pope Leo has called for a day of prayer for peace tomorrow. Here's information on how to join him. I'm not Catholic, or even particularly religious, but I am going to tune in because I'd like there to be an enormous audience.....which will make MAGA furious.

Good news from the radiologist! The ultrasound confirmed that the mass is just a cyst that swelled up, then self-resolved. The little rice-sized bit that I was still feeling is probably the cyst's root. So as long as it doesn't keep changing, I'm back to regular follow up schedules. But they did recommend I discuss alternating mammos and MRIs each year with my onc.
I knew there was a good chance it wasn't anything too concerning, but it does feel so much better to have it confirmed. 😌
