I survived my week of radiation! Met with the RO yesterday. He feels things have gone well. It was a very small spot that they were successful in radiating. Unless something new pops up, I am done with that department. Was able to get my chemo infusion today as well. I did not get the Neulasta patch. Seems the RO and the MO agreethat radiation hinders the patch medication making it ineffective. The difficulty now is keep myself infection free for 10 days. I will hibernate and use sanitizer when necessary! Hopefully all this will keep me on track for further infusions the end of this month. Seems like if it is not one thing it is another.

Jazzy — Fingers crossed your results are clear. The needle certainly does not sound like fun.

Cami — So glad all is well with you, too. I think often the people around us panic more than we do. The lack of control about this roller coaster makes one crazy.

Sounds like everyone is gearing up for a wonderful weekend. Hope everyone gets to do what they want and has fun doing it!

    Take care all!!!

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Saturday! Sadie is a bit miffed with me just now. I went to work yesterday thinking that I would be coming home around lunch time. The Imp of the Perverse had other ideas. I walked in to 2 resident crises going on--one resident was actively violent, swinging at staff and other residents, had pulled the fire alarm, threw coffee on the floor and was parked in the hallway right where everyone had to go past to go to the dining room for breakfast, telling everyone the staff was poisoning the food and coffee. I took on that situation since I wasn't wearing scrubs, could take off my name badge and not trigger a bigger reaction. I was able to keep that situation from getting worse and keep anyone from getting hurt until a person the resident trusted was able to come in. So, step back, take a sip of coffee, check in with the charge nurse and get her updated, and I find out that there have been 3 call-outs and 1 no show for the day shift! My nursing home has 2 units, one for Skilled Rehab care, and one for long term or residential care, with a sub-unit for memory care. I took over the Memory Care Unit for the day, so the assigned Charge Nurse and Med Tech could stay out where the resident in crisis was and keep an eye on things there (the Memory Care unit is a "locked" unit, and out of visual sight of the rest of the Long Term Care unit). I had forgotten what it was like to give all the medications and treatments and monitor all the goings on with the constant interruptions that happen! So I ended up getting done about 4 peeyem, and was totally drained when I got home. I sat down with a nice coconut water Rum and pineapple juice drink and promptly fell asleep in the recliner! Sadie woke me up after drinking half my drink, cuz she wanted to me to make more since she couldn't reach past the ice cubes to get at what was left! We went to bed early, and Sadie punished me some more by making be get up at 6:30 when I really wanted to sleep some more. Now, of course, it's an hour or so later, I'm up, she's sleeping on the ottoman. And snoring to make sure I know she's sleeping!

Jazzy--good heavens, not something I would look forward to at all!I would hope the needle biopsy would be less uncomfortable than having a wand shoved down the throat, unless they do that during the needle biopsy, too? YIKES!

Librarian--glad to hear the rads went well foryou! Hibernation and Hand sanitizer sounds like a good plan! Maybe add in some sanitizing wipes and use them to open doors and turn lights on and off, and to wipe down the phone and computer/laptop keyboard?

    Saturday Night Special

    Ingredients

Pour Jack Daniel's whiskey into a pint glass. Add Bacardi Breezer and serve.

Best served in a Beer Mug.

    Mornin' ladies,

Oh Jazzy more crap ur into. After all u did for urself this summer which is a good sign for them chasing their take and everything will be fine. But u know they have to do what they have to do. <<<PRAYERS>>> a few extra coming ur way.

JC again I'm confused. OK now u finished one week of rads <YAY BTW> how many more do u have to go??? How much longer with the chemo. Again ur posts sound like ur doing OK.

    Another quiet day around here.

I got a call from the guy at work who does the phones and he wasn't sure what to do cuz Bob <one of my luvs> ex FIL passed away and he was kind of afraid to call him. Bob scares everyone the ASS. So I told him I would, he told me not to cuz Bob was in a bad mood. Well I called him anyway and we talked about 1/2 hr. It's his DD grandfather and he liked him but as usual people are arguing how disgusting to me.. Well this is why I luv him, first he's trying to calm the situation then he tells me if u need anything u call me, I'll be right there. And I talked to Dan and he had to go to meet and greet nite for his oldest and told me he'd be over late. I told him forget it he should just stay with his family. Then he said but I promised u a fish sandwich, but I cancelled that. See again why I luv them. I know that was boring for u but no one else is saying much so I'll be more than happy to bore all of u. That's my gift in life.

OH OH FF has pneumonia, he's in the hospital. Oh I know he'll be fine people like that don;'t get that sick very long. When I had it he's the one that said oh they'll just give u an anti-b for a day and u'l be home, no big deal... I was in ICU and ended up in for a week but it was no big deal to him. Oh I wish I liked him really, but I just can't.

    OK have a good day.

Sunny Saturday so far here in 'sunny' Alberta - let's see how long it lasts! Outdoor at the parl, birthday party today, let's hope it stays nice...I have been trying to clean out my vehicle from last week's Antique Show, but have no get up and go at all, so poking along like a turtle, eventually I will 'win'.

NM - OMG - what a way to end your week! I am sure Sadie will remind you that you were 'neglecting' her - hopefully the weekend will be filled with things that you both enjoy,

chi - I am in an area where cannabis et al are legal, but I have no idea how to go about it - I do have an appointment October 8 to see a doctor and will go over things then. In the meantime my left shoulder/neck area is brutally sore, so I may just apply some topical cbd cream sold by a local Farmer's Market. Glad to hear the thumb throbbing is subsiding.

cami, jazzy, goldie, illi, jcs, - helloooooooooooooo have a great weekend, relax and enjoy. Cheers!

Jazzy, gorgeous pix! And in your pocket for the needle biopsy--may they numb your pharynx six ways from Sunday (the topical stuff's pretty effective because it penetrates the mucosa). Can they guide it by ultrasound or x-ray/CT, or will they have to 'scope you? Just curious.

Cami, the "cut-proof" glove is on various cooking supply websites (Willams-Sonoma, Sur La Table, etc.) as well as Amazon. Some are actually like very fine chain mail, some Kevlar (like that as-seen-on-TV "Ove Glove")

Good afternoon ladies- hope everyone is doing well on this middle of the month, coming in to the end of summer weekend. Kids back to school here this week, university starting up next week. It's been a good summer overall, and look forward to one more concert in Santa Fe over Labor Day.

Thanks for bearing with me this week. I got pretty blind sighted by the news on Monday about the thyroid, because I had gotten a letter in the mail that said everything was good on the mammo and MRI for the breast findings. So I went in thinking I was going to get a rubber stamp on Monday with that visit, and then go on to my eye stuff, but then the question about doing the US came up and thought "why do I need a US now with an MRI?" Well, the tech was not too clear about that until I sat with the BS to discuss the imaging results and she mentioned the activity seen on the thyroid, and I needed a US for that. So I got that done Thursday, and was told they would call with results by the next day, but decided to NOT wait this time and went to read the report on line yesterday. That is where I found the detailed report with a discussion of 3 nodules, two larger than 1 cm that should be biopsied. There is nothing on the portal that says my biopsy is scheduled, the US was already scheduled without discussion. So now I will be ready when they do call.

I have done some research on the thyroid beyond what I shared with you about the connection between BC and thyroids cancers. Beside the low possibility of a bc met, and of course, the possibility of cancer from rads (mine was internal and low dose), there is a scoring for the nodules based on 1 to greater than 7. Things between 1-3 are low risk, 4-7 some suspicion of cancer, and above 7, high suspicion of cancer. Mine is at a 5 which is moderate suspicion and it sounds like if they are big enough to biopsy, they do. But my other thought was, I had those images done a month ago, if someone was really worried, they usually call to get you in right away to get a biopsy. I have been in places where I had to go within a few days (like last year) and other times, it took a month to get one. So we will see.

Shifting gears to more interesting topics, I am working on getting caught up from being away last weekend and also doing a face lift of my gardens and pots with some fall things. Starting to cool down and the morning and evenings are lovely.

I appreciate all your support and will keep you updated on anything newsworthy, but hope your day is good and that you also have a funday Sunday, as NM would say!

Good Morning, Loungettes! Wow, I really got lazy yesterday, never even visited the Lounge! The picnic was cancelled due to rain and illness, so Sadie and I had a very laid-back day. I never even got dressed! It was pretty dreary until late in the peeyem. Even Sadie wasn't very active but was content to lay on the ottoman and get regular petting and tummy tickles. I think she's forgiven me for the long hours last week. This week the only long day will be Wednesday, and I may take her in to work with me on Friday, so that will make up for it.

Cammy Cat--there always seems to be one person in a work setting that everyone is afraid of bothering! It's sad how people argue after a death. Just sad. Dan really does take good care of you! Of course FF will throw off a case of pneumonia like it's nothing. So not fair.

Janky--Slow and steady wins the race!Keep turtling along, you'll get there! Celebrate progress!

Jazzy--that hummingbird photo is FANTASTIC!You should enter that one in a contest! Love the Bucket List Rainbow Ryders!

Chi--I've seen the chain mail type gloves, often wondered how they fit since they don't seem to b sold in sizes.

Jazzy--It's confusing the way some things are jumped on ASAP and other drag on and on. What bothers me most is when they say that I'll get a call in a certain time frame and it doesn't happen. I have mixed feelings about tests being scheduled before the person is told about it, what if the person doesn't want the test? Or needs time to get insurance authorization? Or wants time to research? Medicine is getting more and more run by computer programs and less and less human.

Illi--that margarita looks wonderful! I bet it was delicious.

DOTD is Illi's Strawberry Margarita, it looks so good!

I'm home! Had a nice time and got me a new picture with Darby Hinton (Israel from the Daniel Boone show) On the way home we thought we saw lots of haze in the air, turned out to be smoke, and a lot of it. Looked online, and it seems there are lots of fires right now in Utah. Also drove through Best Friends, it's a no kill animal shelter that has the most beautiful cemeteries for animals buried there, with lots of sitting areas, pathways and huge wind chimes. I'll post pictures once we get our internet fixed, which has been down for over a week. We are having to use a hot spot from our phone, which uses up data very fast.

Cami, so glad to hear you don't have Leukemia. I know you/we don't like FF, but I do hope he recovers.

Jazzy, still thinking and praying for you that all turns ok with the thyroid. Do you think we can still get together one weekend day? We can play it by ear since you still have the cataract issue to deal with as well. I too love the hummingbird picture.

Just a small post, DH has derm appt. today, scraping of a suspicious spot on his head, which will be an on going thing for him.

Good morning all! Had a pretty quiet weekend. Somehow I did not understand the problem with not getting the Neulasta patch. My WBC count will continue to go down for the next several weeks. And there seems to be nothing anyone can do about it. I bought some Emergen-C, but have not taken it as I am not sure if it will interfere with chemo. I keep looking for something I can do/eat that will help. The thought of staying inside for day after day is driving me crazy! I have laid in a supply of hand sanitizer and wipes, but am not that excited about wearing a mask in public. The attention from that is worse than not having hair and makes me want to stay home. I need a project or something to do at home to keep me from going crazy. Oh bother, I am not going to obsess over it.

Love the pictures, Jazzy. NM, hope this week is better for you! I am going to make a smoothie, then walk three miles, then do laundry. Have a few other chores to round out the day. Trying to stay busy so I don’t go crazy.

Hi friends- I hope everyone had a good Funday Sunday and are ready for the new week. I have things together to have a better week and with all the extra doc apt, had a lot of long days with work stuff and was just worn out and hit every which way with things. I am working on asking friends for rides today for the eye surgery date and have lots to do on that front this week. But I will be focused on eating well, getting plenty of rest and some exercise.

Goldie- thank you for your good wishes. Right now I am not sure if I can make any commitments to getting together. I have a lot going on into Sept with some plans for Labor Day, the surgery and who knows what else. My nephew is here in October too, god willing. So let me get through some things and can let you know?

How is your DD doing BTW?

NM- not too thrilled about the way this is playing out. I had all this bc imaging stuff scheduled to be done in mid July and then my apt with her got pushed out over 3 weeks and then there there was something to discuss. I assumed letters in the mail saying you were good meant you are good and that they would have called sooner if they were wanting more? Ugh. Anyways, I will finish going through the testing and hope everything is okay and then can leave this to move on to my scheduled surgery. The further I get away from the initial news, and the lack of urgency, the more I just think I am going to be okay. I will let you guys know.

Sorry your picnic got cancelled, but it sounds like you needed some downtime yesterday sister. I love the days when I can stay in my PJs all day.

Cami, Janky, Chi, Mistyeyes, Muddling, Teka, and everyone else, thinking of you and which you a good week. The news says it going to be very hot across the country today (still in the high 90s here, ugh again.)

    Mornin' ladies,

I'M YELLING HERE---JAZZZZY STAY OFF THE INTERNET. I know everyone tends to use it but it just puts so much clutter in ur mind that doesnt have to be there. No matter what u know it won't make any difference except to cause worry. U r a strong woman and I know in my heart u will be fine, I just hate that u have to go thru anything at all,

JC it really has to be hard to have "rules" to follow about going out or anything that u like doing. Ur going thru a lot of crap now but it won't always be this bad just please do what u have to to feel better. But u did do a lot yesterday, just slow down a bit. We all want u to feel good.

OK Illi if I could pull that drink out of the pic. I would. I don't blame Kim for using it as a DOTD everyday.

Lori I'm always glad when u get home. But how is ur DD? u didn't mention her. It probably means she must be doing OK, but we still need to know.

Jazzy that pic. is amazing, u have so much talent in so many things.

Kim sorry it rained but u had a good day with Sadie and I always like that. She'll love going Friday with u so next weekend will start off good.

Ok Sandy I know what u mean now about the glove. U r so vigilant about everything u do and how u take care of things that happen right away.

I went to my cousins house yesterday, first time since she's passed away.. Her husband wanted everyone over and it was nice 9 kids under 5, but they were all good. and so cute. They all left around 6pm and the older ones stayed till around 9pm. Super Sunday but now so tired. Dan hired another man that starts today I get so nervous there are s many men now and it is our slow time, oh well

    Have a good Monday

That glove is a royal pain—I’ve taken instead to using a little finger guard thingy with a ring on the back that slips over my middle finger (symbolism?) and protects my knuckles as I bend them under. Should the knife or food slip, my fingers wouldn’t be exposed. Saving the glove for holding slippery stuff (found my avocado tool—and promptly nicked a cuticle on the pit-remover portion...sigh).

Weigh-in today: down 13 lbs. since diet started (28 since I made the appointment), and lost 2-1/2” off my waist. Down 2 BMI #s too—2 more and I will be “overweight” rather than “obese.” The bariatric NP is delighted. She asked me why I went full-keto the last few days, and I explained about the wine pairing dinner.

Good morning, Loungettes!Happy Twofer Tuesday! Dinner with Mom after work today, then up VERY early tomorrow ayem for classes starting at 5 ayem. Going to be a long day, last class starts at 6 peeyem. Sadie is going to be unhappy with me! But I'll get to sleep in a bit Thursday. Might take her to work with me on Friday, will have to see how it goes.

Goldie--sounds like you had a nice trip! All the smoke must have been scary to see.So many fires burning right now. I think it's wonderful the shelter has a cemetery for the animals. Nice to see that they care. Good luck to your DH!

Librarian--It must be so hard to be so isolated and stuck at home for so long. Don't stay inside, you need to get outside for your mental health if no other reason. And even staying inside at home doesn't guarantee you won't be exposed to something, unless you have a quarantine sign up and no one ever comes to the door and nothing comes into the house, not even mail! Hang in there, we're all in your (virtual) pocket.

Jazzy--you'd think letters in the mail that "all is well" would mean that all is well, not just be an automatic mailing by a computer that has no relevance to the actual test results. That would make me so angry. I did enjoy the downtime Sunday. It was nice to have a day without something going on. Sadie and I did enjoy the day.

Cammy At--cute wine kitteh! So nice you could get together with the family.9 kids under 5, that must have been hilarious! I think it's good that Dan is bringing someone new on during a slow time, gives him more time to teach the new guy.

    Chi--Congrats on the weight loss!

JCS, so sorry you are having so many issues with your treatment and blood counts. This all just sucks! PERIOD!

Jazzy, I figured as much with our get together. I want you to take care of YOU. We will keep it on the back burner. It will happen one day!

Cami, 9 kids under 5? I would be in my glory! Glad they were all good. And now you have another man in your life! You lucky woman you.

Oh geeze Sandy, you nicked your cuticle now. Maybe you need to give up avacados!!! Awesome news on the weight loss.

NM, those are some early classes, holy cow. Enjoy your dinner with mom. Sadie will eventually forgive you. I have some pictures on my phone, just need to get them off.

I hadn't talked to my DD until yesterday. She is doing good but said she hadn't called me as she has been so busy. I didn't like that, I'm afraid she is doing too much and I told her that....AGAIN! She said she is being very careful and not lifting anything. We are still having mid 90 temps and even triple digits in late afternoons. My poor garden is not doing well at all. I think I have lost 5 or 6 tomatoes, my zucchini and squash are being destroyed by squash bugs, I just can't keep them under control. None of my canteloupe or watermellon did anything, same with the cukes. Bean plants grew, but no beans on them. I am so bummed, it's just been too hot I guess.

    Mornin' ladies,

First and foremost CONGRATULATIONS Sandy, loosing weight is a big deal and with everything u had u made it sound easy.Ah new clothes time. Many women love to shop so if u do u'll have lots of fun. I hate it personally. Leslie and Joey both love it, she always did and Joey too. My mom and sister were another 2. They could spend the day in Yorktown so easily.

Oh Kim u got lots of 'splainen to do to Sadie for tomorrow. U'd better take her with friday, she enjoys that so much plus she gives so many people joy So many people now are pet lovers and really get happy to see a friendly furbaby, and that's what sadie is. The DOTD looks yummy today.

It's funny every so often someone poops in here to tell us how goofy we are and I think u have no idea how we have bonded so much and this is a great thread for any stage. And one more for the road, as long as we don't drive, right???

Lori Hoping everything went well with ur DH and of course ur DD.

And Jazzy ur another one that has to keep us up to date.

JC I hope ur doing OK, Misty, muddling, Illi Janky, hope I didn't forget anyone. And of course Teka I know ur out there LOL. Lori have u heard from SusyQ, it's been a while since she's pooped in.

Good morning all! ChiSandy - Great news on the weight loss. You are so strong and dedicated to your regime. I admire your ability to see things through until the end. I am going to try and imitate you with some lifestyle changes for myself. My DH and I walk every other day. On the off day I will do about 15 minutes of exercises. Stretches, weights, toning, etc. I am tracking my eating so I can try to get more fruits and veggies into my diet. During afternoon ‘quiet time’, I am practicing mindful meditation. Hopefully this along with my regular chores will keep me busy and focused.

Today, I do have to get out for a bit. Need to get a baby shower present and maybe just drive around. Will go out to dinner with family tonight to celebrate my birthday last week. MO said that was ok! Then a lunch with friends tomorrow. I have hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes in my pocket book. Just cannot bring myself to wear a mask.

Still really hot here and no rain. We hear thunder, but no raindrops. Next week the highs are to be in the high 80’s. Yippee!

Sorry about the garden Goldie. My former boss said she lost hers too, all of it between early season flooding and this heat, bummer, I loved when she’d bring me bags of veggie goodies.

Lori, bummer about the garden--it's so frustrating to work so hard only to have weather issues or critters mess it up.

JCS, the diet is the easy part--hydration & exercise more problematic. Hydration because I just don't feel like drinking 1/2 a gallon of water every day; exercise because I have the Left Foot From Hell: bunion, bunionette, hammer toe, elongated third toe with painful callus (that my pedicurist can't make a dent in), pain beneath fourth & fifth toes when walking, intermittent top of foot/ankle pain (the return of the cuboid syndrome/stress fx. I had 10 yrs ago?), and multiple stubbed & broken toes over the years. I filled out my health system's appointment request form for a podiatrist; but given the patient portal track record for making online appts., I'll probably have to call.

Cami, that kitty is adorable. Heidi (my little black princess) was a very naughty girl Monday. She slept in the bed with me (first atop my chest, then on a pillow alongside me). When I got up, I felt something wet & slimy by her pillow, adjacent to my PJ top....two black hairballs, still warm. (I sleep wearing earplugs--originally to block out snoring, but now even when I sleep alone at home or on the road; so I didn't hear her retch up her hairballs). I picked them up in a tissue, flushed them down the toilet, and threw my PJs in the hamper. To my utter horror, though, there was also blackish (her hair) vomit on the pillowcase and the duvet--had to pretreat with micellar water (it happened to be on my sink, and I figured if it'll take off waterproof mascara it'll work on kitty puke stains) before putting them in the hamper too. Fortunately, we had two other twin comforters, so we used those last night. (My housekeeper now takes off Mondays, to take her DH to the V.A. hospital for his weekly iron infusions, and it always seems we have kitty vomit, storm damage, or broken glasses or humongous spills on her days off. Hard to remember that until Gordy was born, we never had any household help other than once calling Mighty Maids for a deep-cleaning).

I couldn't fall asleep last night (despite waiting till 2 am), because I was afraid Heidi would give me some more "presents;" but I didn't have the heart to shut her out of the bedroom after 14 yrs. of cuddling with me. I had to take a CBN capsule at 4 am (the CBD wasn't enough), and when it knocked me out, it really knocked me out: I didn't wake up till after 1 pm (and only because my full bladder interrupted an interesting dream). So much for going to the lab for a fasting a1c and lipid panel--I hadn't eaten in 16 hrs. and I needed my coffee too. Trying again tomorrow--this time I'll take the CBN and CBD together. I have to go to the dispensary for the CBN, and it's not cheap (although it is half the price of the Dexilant--even the Canadian stuff I got online--I must take for GERD). But good sleep is precious.

Cami, my DD is doing ok. I had posted right above you. And yes, this is an awesome thread with awesome ladies.

JCS, are you having to be careful because of chemo?

Illimae, it about makes me sick about the garden. It's not easy work and all the watering and fertilizing. I do have some tomatoes to can today, but it probably won't yield but about 5 pints. I hope DH is ok, and just dealing with a bug.

Sandy, I agree about hydrating and exercise, but I don't exercise due to pain, I'm just not into it! Sorry about the painful foot.

NM, did you make it to dinner with your mom? Where did ya's go?

    Hmmmm, quite afternoon yesterday.

Look at the cake my DIL made for my birthday! I asked her to make a peach cake with cream cheese frosting. The cake had four layers with homemade peach preserves in between the layers. It was fantastic!

Had dinner at our favorite restaurant last night. We were so disappointed! Had to wait 20 minutes even though we had reservations. The waitress was frazzled and confused about our selections. The food was blah where in the past it had always been great. Guess it is time to find another favorite restaurant.

Today I am going to lunch to celebrate a work friend that is retiring. After that I will drop off a baby gift for the young lady that used to cut my hair. Will probably spend the rest of the afternoon sanitizing. LOL! I go to the MO on Monday and will get my white blood cell count checked. Based on that number, he will decide whether or not I will have chemo on Friday 8/30. Who knew that not getting the Neulasta patch would have such long term consequences!?

ChiSandy- congrats on the weight loss, that is impressive! You go girl!

Goldie- I am sorry about the gardens, I know you look forward to all the canning you do around this time of the year

JCS- sorry you are having problems with the blood work. Take good care of yourself. Your DIL really loves you and put a lot of work into that beautiful cake. I love peach anything.......

Cami- your cat pictures get me through the week!

I messaged my PCP yesterday and got her help to get this biopsy scheduled. She is on it. Got some better information from her too about the US report and findings she received. Probably will have the test done by early next week and hopefully not have to wait too long for results. I am moving along with all my to -dos for my eye surgery in Sept.

Jazzy, hope you get the biopsy done soon, the results are good, and that it doesn't interfere with cataract surgery (which while minor surgery results in a major life improvement).

JCS, I'm drooling over that cake!!!

JCS, that cake looks amazing! Sorry about the favorite restaurant, maybe they got a new cook? Hope your counts are good for your treatment.

Jazzy, continued prayers for you that all will be ok.

I managed to get 5 pints of tomatoes. My brother started growing tomatoes last year. This year he tried one that is called Abraham Lincoln. He sent me a picture, it's huge and weighed 2.5 pounds!

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy TGIF day! Going to be a short day for me, I think, I still need to add up my hours so far and see where I'm at. Sadie will be happy to have me home early.

Goldie--would you believe that, even with starting classes at 5 am, and having 11 classes throughout the day, with the last one at 6 peeyem there were complaints that classes didn't start early enough and there weren't enough classes?2 ayem was the requested class time!I'm seriously considering scheduling a couple of 2 am classes and see if anyone actually shows up just to call their bluff! But I did get a much better turn out than for past classes. Too bad about your garden, maybe it will produce later when the temps start moving down? Here in Maine everything is at least 2 weeks behind due to the cold, wet spring and then the sudden arrival of hot, dry summer. I hope DD is being careful, and glad to hear she's doing well.

Cammy Cat--I think I will take Sadie to work with me today. She needs a trip out, and it will be fun having her with me!

Librarian--paying attention to keeping your hands off your face while you are out will be just as good as wearing a mask. The vast majority of viruses are picked up on our hands and then get onto our mouth or nose when we touch our faces rather than by inhaling them. You could protect yourself by bringing back the old fashion of wearing gloves, too! No skin touching public doorknobs, light switches, or other public surfaces would go a long way toward cutting down on the transmission of lots of illnesses!

    Illi--hope DH feels better soon!

    Morning, Muddling!

Chi--adding my congrats on the weight loss!Good work!Sorry to hear about the foot issues, hope the portal doesn't fail you.Oh my goodness, what an experience with the kitty barfs! Good sleep truly is precious, I'm glad you've got a regimen that works well foryou.

Goldie-- I did make it to dinner with Mom, we went to Olive Garden. We both brought home enough for another meal, except we split one dessert so none of that was left over!

Librarian--fantastic cake! Sorry the restaurant wasn't up to par. So sad when that happens. Maybe it was a one day thing?

Jazzy--glad to hear things are moving. Praying for B9 results.

Goldie--5 pints of maters?Wow! A 2.5 pound tomato? What on earth does one do with a tomato of that size?????

    Rickey Tomato

    Makes 1 drink

    3 ripe cherry tomatoes

    1½ ounces gin

    ¾ ounce St-Germain

    1 ounce Dolin Blanc vermouth

    Pinch of sea salt

Muddle the cherry tomatoes in a cocktail tin. Add all of the other ingredients and ice. Shake until chilled and double strain into a glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a cherry tomato and a sprig of cilantro.
