Morning girlies,
Bernie--So glad you are back, missed your jokes, they always start my morning with a smile

Mrs. V- Hope the meds got you a good night of rest and that you are feeling better today.
Dorthy-Wish you had taken at least one more day off of work, you gots to rest to let the medicine work silly girl!
Fingers crossed: So far the taxotere seems to be an easier ride for me than the AC. Was actually my normal self last night. Boyfriend came home expecting to find me sleeping on the couch and I was up, dressed and full of energy.......time will tell.
Goldie-scalp is good, no issues, just a mild irritation. Thanks for checking.
Thinking of our girl while she's in the surgery today. Hanging out in this pocket (it's toasty warm in here!) making sure the Doc does and very good job!!!
Have a great day girls, back to see ya later.

If you get melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly.
Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.
Problem: How to get 2 pounds of chocolate home from the store in hot car.
Solution: Eat it in the parking lot.Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It'll take the edge off
your appetite and you'll eat less.A nice box of chocolates provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Isn't that handy?
If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge. Calories are afraid of heights and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves.
Equal amounts of dark chocolate and white chocolate is a balanced diet.
The preservatives in chocolate make you look younger.
Q. Why is there no such organization as Chocoholics Anonymous?
A. Because no one wants to quit.Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done!

Hello fellow alcohol lovers. I was a weekend drinker before bc, but I have read that drinking can contribute to a reoccurence so I have stopped drinking every weekend and drink once a month. I have not been a heavy drinker for many years, I drink like 6-7 beers or 2 bottles of wine and that is enough for me to be really happy!! I think if you are an everyday 5 glasses or bottles a day drinker, then maybe it could contribute to a reoccurence but, then I think, maybe it does not matter, it will either come back or it won't. I bought a pool recently and am envisioning hot sunny days, cracking my first beer at about 1pm and floating all day... mmmm... can't wait, there's nothing like an afternoon giggly beer buzz

Hey goils! Allison, great minds think alike (then there's us numbskulls!), was thinking this morning that I would pop in for a lunch breather and post a BOTD for Kathy, stay tuned. Am so glad the UFO got me to Bama on time!
Lori, it ain't better be Stella stealing posts! Thanks for the DOTD, motivation, tried it, only motivated to hab anudder!
NM, great to see you, bummer it was a tough weekend, hope the rest helped and that Sadie got her DDoggie time! We had 2 sled hills like that as well, I lost most of one of my top front teeth on it.
Tiedye, so glad the taxotere is so far so good. Let's keep it that way!
Hope all fighting the crud are feeling better!
Bernie, thanks for the chocolates and laughs! I needed that!
ckgray, welcome! You can drink virtually, really or any combo you want to on this thread. We each decide for ourselves what works! I, for one, choose to drink!
Luvs youse guys! Lisa
Okay now, still small, think I will climb up with Allison to check on tings! How's this for a BOTD, from Kona Brewing Company, Fire Rock Pale Ale. Brewed on the Big Island. Cheers to our Wahine feeling good soon!0 -
Lori, thanks for the link. Great Calendar! gonna get one later, just took liquid hydracodone, and it is beginning to work. Dr says bronchitis :-(. At least I now have meds to hopefully make it go away, plus comfy couch :-).
Tiedye, glad you are feeling good today. The steroids help. About 3 days after Taxotere, the taste in my mouth changed really bad. Nothing sounded good except Carbs! I had a hotdog on a white bun straight off a charcoal grill at my DD's summer camp, sooo good, went back for another. So that's when my weight gain really started. Oh well, u gotta eat, so if it sounds good, eat it! I calculated up, and your last treatment will be March 20th, right? First day of Spring!! Yippee! Something to look forward to! We will send the party bus to u on that day to celebrate!!
Bernie, u crack me up. Love the how to get 2lbs of chocolate home in hot car, eat it in the parking lot, lol.
OK, will take a nap and come back later to see if our dalling Katrink a dink is home from de hospital! With brand new refluxless no bad vein legs!! And hopefully good pain meds

You goils are so funny, thanks for the laughs. Like Scuby, checking in here is a great mental health break.
CheerZ, no tears no fears. Peace goils!

Thanks Girls! NOW I need someone to dwink for me....just having diet coke tonight. Let me tell you though, it is so HARD getting around when you cannot bend your knees (can just barely bend them). Still having to keep legs elevated, so getting lots of rest. Legs are wrapped up so tight from toes to top of thighs. Swollen and numb though, so hope that does go away. No real pain though, so am very thankful for that. Still looking for my foil! You all WOK and WOLL!
Oh, and Thanks for the chocolates Bernie, yummmmmmmm!
Lub,lub,lub,
Kathy the Funny Mummy

Wahine....glad that you are home and doing well......
I'm soooooo over tired...either that or my sinuses are wrecking havic.....eyes feel heavy......
going to go read a link that DH sent me on hormone Tx that is okay for ER+.....its "seeds"...will share more after I read it, but he says its for women that have many of the same issues that I do.............just read the article...its on hormone pellets that are inserted under the skin....testosterone as well as estrogen and progesterone......has anyone heard of this....I think one of my docs, maybe my onc Rx testosterone (orally) a while back, but it really didn't do much, but this article got me thinking again.....any thoughts would be appreciated....I can give you the link to the article if you want....not sure if I should post it here.....
0 -
Can you PM that link to me, Karen? I had to get off HRC asap w/ my bc dx, but mine did have testerone in it, and I might be interested in the pellet thing if it is safe.
THANKS AGAIN all you sweet galz for all the kind thoughts and nice words!! Means a lot to me. OH, when I went to the hospital, had to go with NO makeup, had bloodshot eyes from no sleep, and hair looked horrid cuz I couldn't use hairspray, or mousse, or anything, plus I am behind on dyejob so roots showing, etc. Usually they comment on my age, but no one did, and I knew that was cuz I looked so bad. BUT then one nurse came in, asked my birthdate and kept saying over and over that I did not look ANYWHERE near my age. OH that made my day!!!!! I asked her, even w/ no makeup, etc? That gave me a lift! Always nice to get good comments when you look bad!
Scoobs, I am going to compile all my names from our thread someday! J/K!

Glad all went well. Here's to speedy recovery!

Bert feared his wife Peg wasn't hearing as well as she used to and he thought she might need a hearing aid.
Not quite sure how to approach her, he called the family Doctor to discuss the problem.
The Doctor told him there is a simple informal test the husband could perform to give the Doctor a better idea about her hearing loss.
'Here's what you do,' said the Doctor, 'stand about 40 feet away from her, and in a normal conversational speaking tone see if she hears you. If not, go to 30 feet, then 20 feet, and so on until you get a response.'
That evening, the wife is in the kitchen cooking dinner, and he was In the den. He says to himself, 'I'm about 40 feet away, let's see what happens.' Then in a normal tone he asks, 'Honey, what's for dinner?'
No response.
So the husband moves closer to the kitchen, about 30 feet from his wife and repeats, 'Peg, what's for dinner?'
Still no response.
Next he moves into the dining room where he is about 20 feet from his Wife and asks, 'Honey, what's for dinner?'
Again he gets no response.
So, he walks up to the kitchen door, about 10 feet away. 'Honey, what's for dinner?'
Again there is no response..
So he walks right up behind her. 'Peg, what's for dinner?'
(I just love this)
'For F*** sake, Bert, for the FIFTH time, CHICKEN!'

GOLDIE-I get it about the comp. Mine would cover it's ears if it could once I start going with my temper. I think it's afraid to misbehave now. I never lose my post but it does like to trick me every day. Just when I think i've clicked in one box it turns out it didn't click. So i've typed something somewhere I shouldn't have and have to erase and start all over, ugh! We'll put the soap away if you promise to be a good girl from now on
. SCUBY-Happy to get a tour from you, especially of that bar of yours. Have to try some of those beers you talk about. But first the foobs then the trip. CHRISSY-It took me awhile to get thru your thread. I saw things in your pics i've never seen in person. I travelled to other countries and didn't see enough of mine it turns out. Looks like you had a great adventure. WAHINE THE MACHINE is back, yay! There's another name for your collection, lol. 0 -

Good morning goils!
Kathy, I hope you slept well last night and were not uncomfortable with your legs wrapped tight. Sending you healing vibes and happy thoughts for an easy breezy recovery.
Juliet, thanks for giving me hope, I still feel yukky despite being on anti b's. I really wonder if I needed them but am following doctors orders.
Bernie, welcome home and thanks for the chocolate (I pinched some from wahine when she was sleeping).
I was in a funky mood yesterday and had a FTW attitude. Tank God for new days, I will dwink to that.
Wishing everyone here an awesome day!
CHeerS!

Tidy, I did Taxol, but handled it better than the AC too. However, I had more pain from the Nuelasta shot during Taxol. My ickies never hit until about the 3 day. Hoping it stays kind to you! 3 more to go? We are here wif ya, right through it all.
Alli, sawry dat you gots dat bronchitis too. What have you and DorK been up to?
What a fun hospital party, just sorry it was at your expense Kathy! Laughing at DorK (what else is new) calling some of you pocket hogs and shelf hogs. I think Alli or Lisa mentioned it too.
Lisa, 2 more names for Kathy! Katrinka dink from Alli, and Funny Mummy from the name hog herself!
Karen, sorry.....no help from me on the hormone tx. Maybe search around BCO, I'm certain there is a thread for that somewhere! Or you could start your own?
Kathy, you get comments cuz you DO NOT look bad. With or without makeup. Sure hope you wake up dis ayem feeling as goot as you did yesterday. Anxiously awaiting to hear fwom you. Do you need someone to drink your share this 2's day?
Beans..........I saw you peak that pretty head in da door. Gonna try and get someone to nab you, next time you do dat.
Shannon, I have to be good? L
Dofey, hope you have a better day today. What is FTW? Oh wait, I tink mese figured it out F the world?
Juliet, glad to hear you are on the mend.....but 2 weeks worth?
Can't page back, so don't recall the name, but welcome to the new gal. You can have all the drinks you want here, and we have 2 pools that you can float around in. One indoors and one out.
Just heard on the news dat it is Humpty day and not 2s day........LOL!
Howz about a RUMMY MUMMY cocktail 2day?
2¾ cups Coconut Flavored Rum
¾ cup Vanilla Flavored Vodka
¾ cup Hazelnut Flavored Liqueur
1½ pkg Half & Half
In a pitcher, mix rum, vodka, liqueur and half and half; stir to mix. Serve over ice. Makes 12 drinks. (That's enough to last me the morning!)

Good morning, Loungettes! I am still dragging a$$ tired, and didn't even do anything yesterday to get that way! Definitely need to talk to my PCP tomorrow, I think it's the cholesterol drug I let her talk me into taking. Could be the thyroid, too, like someone here reminded me. Gonna cut back on the 3 mile walk today so I have enough energy left over to get some housework done today. This is getting really annoying and really NOT FUN!

Tidy--glad the taxotere is less taxing than the AC, here's praying it stays that way!
Bernie--Love the Chocolate Diet Rules! Now that is MY kind of diet!

Ckgrayoh--You've got the right idea, my dear woman. I'm still convinced the whole drinking adding to the risk thing is just a version of blaming the victim. Too many of us never drank, ate 'right' and exercised and STILL got cancer, so I'm not giving up any of my quality of life now in a vain attempt to prevent a recurrence. Welcome to the HTL!
Scuby--Sadie got lots of cuddle time in yesterday, that's just about all I did all day! She wasn't complaining, though.

Mrs. Vino--good meds and a good couch are VERY good things!

Goldie--thanks for the update on Wahine! Here's to no pain and good chicken soup!
Wahine--you have definitely won the prize for the most names in the lounge! Glad you're home, glad there's no pain.

Karen--I'd like a link to that article, I'm always on the look out for new info. I do know that birth control pills now have some progesterone in them to cut down on the side effects, and that some hormone replacement therapy meds do too. There's something about the balance of the sex hormones that is safer and easier on the body than one hormone alone. . . .
Wahine--It is nice to hear something good like that, especially when you feel most unattractive!

Bernie--if people only realized how often one spouse complains of the other's hearing when the complaining spouse is the one with the hearing problem~

Juliet--Good morning! Glad to hear the nose faucet has finally turned off!

Princess Glitter Sizzle's DOTD is A Drink by Any Other Name Is Still a Drink
8 ounces water
ice cubes
Fill glass with ice cubes, pour in water until full. Drink straight down, repeat 7 times per day.
VARIATION: replace 1/2 of ice cubes with likker of choice.

Juliet, today is day 10 and I am feeling like I will never get better, thanks for the encouragement. I am going to need to work some overtime today as I left earlier than I should have yesterday. I need to stop leaving work whenever I get irritated.
Unde', you make me laugh when talking about your computer. I enjoy having you here in de lounge. I would enjoy it more if I could have a stiff dwink about now.
I am about to take a test and am worried that I am not prepared. I did make a "cheat sheet", don't tell.
Missing my Scuby, it has been too long since I have had facetime with you.
And I apologize for not addressing all de goils. I am at a point where my brain is refusing to do any work as my job is zapping all of my brain waves outta me and trying to zap the life outta me. I want my little bottle of rum back too. Those HR biotches probably downed it already. HATE HR people (in general).
0 -
DorK--I am sure you will do just fine with the test today. Your brain has cleaned out all the info except what you need for the test, when it's over come back and have a big stiff drink and relax! Is there somewhere you can go at work where you can be by yourself for a few minutes when you get irritated? Like the bathroom? or taking a walk around the building?
0 -
Lori and NM, so sorry I bumped you ladies. Pants, get de goils refills.
Lori, you figured out what FTW means, you are brilliant!
NM, thanks for cheering me up, always enjoy your posts. I cracked up at the runny nose.
And yes indeed, our Kathy has more names than anyone I know.
I gotta get off here and get moving. My test awaits me.....I may just pop into the chapel and pray for my darnself. Love you girls!

Hiya Lovely Loungettes! Well despite all the good wishes, I didn't get much sleep. Was wide awake around 2:30, finally got out of bed around 5. And I had taken a lortab!!! ITs just so uncomfortable being all wrapped up and sleeping on my back with my legs propped up to the ceiling (well not THAT high...I do have a trey ceiling!). But the top 4" or so of where the wide ace bandages are, at upper thighs, have felt like tourniquets, cause they rolled up. OUCH! He said we could take it off today, but the other dr with him has his pts wear thigh-hi comp hose for 3 days, so I am hoping this will be ok. Cannot shower till after I see him on Friday. HAve to fast the night before, cuz I have the endoscope (esophagus) at my other drs that same morning. So have to go into town, see vein surgeon, then hi-tail it to out near where we live to get the throat scoped. All without a shower....yuck! Hoping my raw, sore throat (from yesterdays surgery), heals b4 having the scope put in.
OMG NM, love the nose faucet!!! Sooooo funneeee. Such funny cartoons, and I love the DOTD..."A Drink by Any Other Name...".
Dorkie, I think (but could be wrong....don't sue me...LOL) that Juliet might have meant 10 days after starting the antib's? Hoping you feel gooooooood soon. We know you will ace that test! Hey, it was YOU sneaking the chocolate Bernie gave me!!!! Nah, of course I will share, cause Bernie brought LOTS of it to the HTL!
\And love your DOTD too, Lori...the "Rummy Mummy"! I have been going around the house singing "Monster Mash" and "Thriller" as I sure am walking like a zombie right now!
Now all you chicas bettah get well soonliest!!! Hate how many are feeling yucky right now. Dork, did you and AlleyCat compare notes on what your drs said to do, since you BOTH have bronchitis?? Alli, get better!!!!!! Dorkie, get better!! Juliet, glad you are feeling better. And TieDye hope you tolerate that tx okay. NM, hope your dr can figure out why you don't have much energy! ANd yet you still do the most awesome, time-consuming posts for us! Love them all. PLus Bernie, your jokes are always so much fun!!! Nice to have you back. And Unde, glad you saw Chrissy's journal, it was awesome following it in real time, too. Still hoping you will compile that in a book, CHrissy! And GreenBeans is baaaaack...hooray!
Cheers! Chairs!
