Cheryl- have a great weekend to go w/ your great news. I think I'll see some bands this weekend too. Michael McDonald from the Doobe Bros. (he's from here) and Steely Dan (oldies but goodies) Plus it is The St. Louis Blues Festival, The Greek Festival, The Japanese Festival, Spirit of St. Louis Fair and Air Show. My SIL's bday and a friend's 50th bday. Too much going on here for me to go to The Lake. Summer is really over

Christine-Was just listening to my Steely Dan cd yesterday. My fun this weekend will not consist of any good music, but almost 13 year olds playing soccer in San Diego. Oh well, I'll pop in my CD and think of you in between games. Summer is over.

Lini - San Diego is a great place to be, whenever. I was there a few yrs ago and got to stay at The Del Coronado ... loved that place. SD has alot to offer, but the best meal, besides Fish Tacos was at the Del.

Yummy! Fish tacos sound muy bueno. I was hoping to find some Puerto Nuevo style lobster without having to take the drive south of the border. I hate driving down there. It's crazier than here. I agree The Del is beautiful. I've been there many times, but have never stayed. Enjoy your weekend.

Okay, never had a fish taco and just can't wrap my mind around the concept!

You are totally missing out. You can have it healthy by just grilling some halibut, or unhealthy by breading and frying it. Then you pop it in a warm corn tortilla with some cabbage and pico de gallo(chopped tomatoes, jalapenos, onion, cilantro), then top with a yummy dressing ( I think that it's sour cream and mayo).

lini- gotta add a good squeeze of lime. Yum, I know what I'm doing for lunch.
Jasmine - funny, you wrote, can't "wrap" my mind around it. Try "wrapping" a tortilla around some fish, really delish and fresh.

That is interesting. I'll have to see if Rachel Ray has a recipe listed on her site for that.

Oh yes, mustn't forget the limes. Need them for the Coronas and Margaritas, too.

Hey drinkin' buddies - how is everyone doing?

I am sure we're all ready for the long holiday weekend, huh?

Anybody have any exciting plans? I'll probably go to BF's house and hang out at the lake. I am sure there will be drinking involved.

FYI - supposedly, we are getting new PCs at work next week. The bad news is, also supposedly, my new employer, UnitedHealth Care monitors Internet activity VERY closely. So, probabably won't be posting much during the day.

I may have to start drinking my lunch everyday to help with my Internet withdrawl.

I think they're closing our office today at 3:00 WooHoo! Is that too early to start? I didn't think so....

So while we all enjoy sharing our cocktails with each other while sitting at our computer screens, (and or knitting, making dinner, playing solitare, paying bills, etc), a thought came to me. What music are you listening to? First it's the ice cream tangent, now this. Maybe I really am A.D.D.

Casting Crowns, Josh Groban, Norah Jones, Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson...those are the 5 cd's I have in my cd player right now and its on 'shuffle.' I'm sort of eclectic.

I'm supposed to be working!! Love Johnny Cash...have you ever heard "Beans for Breakfast"? It's hilarious. My song of the moment is "Going through Hell"...Rodney Atkins. I like about anything but opera.
I wanna go home! Sick of working!

New study that I think is posted at webmd about white wine...they have discovered that it has the same anti-oxidants as red!!! Yippee, that's good for me as red wine gives me a headache.
Where are all our drinking partners...the bar is empty!

Hey! I'm here! Been reading more than posting lately. Just haven't been in the mood for fun banter. I had a stressful week. Was off today and did yardwork so I'm tired. Watching Bridget Jones' Diary - wonderful eye candy with Colin Firth and Hugh Grant! (I can fantasize, can't I?)

    Cheers!

    Testicle festival!!!!
This should give us something to talk about tonight!!
    Check this out...
    http://cityguide.aol.com/missoulamt/entertainment/testicle-festival/e-2167609
If you're looking for Clinton, Montana's biggest party, just ask Rod Lincoln, known by many as the "baron of balls." He'll tell you all about the Testicle Festival, held yearly at his Rock Creek Lodge. The "testy festy," as it's affectionately known, is purportedly a five-day extravaganza devoted to consuming innumerable servings of bull testicles (rocky mountain oysters are a local delicacy, don't you know) -- but it's also an excuse for mountain men and women to get rip-roaring drunk, shed clothing and engage in naughty contests and all-day partying .

If you're game (and over 21), you can compete in the Hairy Chest Contest and co-ed naked billiards, or take in a variety of music and entertainment. The Testicle Festival has been featured in publications such as Hustler, Maxim and Time, so expect large crowds -- and make sure you know who's behind the camera. -- Tracy Miller (Photo: Courtesy testyfesty.com)

Oh, hell, I was such a 'sex pot' (oh, now THAT'S and old phrase mnay here have never heard of!) before BC and now I think "sex, what's that and why would I want it?" which really pisses me off because I miss my sex drive so frickin' much! Where oh where did it go??? It's like a switch was turned from "on" (all the time!) to "off" and I can't seem to get the switch turned back to the "on" position!
