I have missed this thread. I am back to work, I get home, have a glass of wine, and fall asleep. I'll just have to live vicariously through all of YOU!

I'm off to go sailing w/ BF, which could turn into one of those relationship breakers if you know what I mean. When I was engaged to the ex, we almost broke up the first time we went canoeing together.

I took a weekend sailing course a couple of months ago, but didn't know ANYTHING about sailing before the class. Don't know much more now.

BF is a seasoned sailor. It will be the first time we've both been on a sailboat at the same time.

Wish me luck. I may be drinking heavily tonight....

    Cheers!

It's Friday night, the boys are off to watch the local football game. It's my night to pop in the foreign flick and enjoy an evening home alone. Anyone seen The Crime of Padre Amaro? I'll let you know if it's any good. Gael Garcia Bernal from The Motorcycle Diaries is in it. Love him!! Nighty night. Hopefully I'll get a full night's rest and I'll catch you all in the late morning, not at 3 am.

I agree!! You ladies crack me up too. I'm glad I found this thread. Although I'm starting to think I am drinking too much . I don't want to give it up cause it tastes way too good and I have so much fun when I'm drinking. I am the original "Happy Drunk" . The only time I wasn't, was during and right after treatment when I would cry every time I had a drink. That sucked!
Seriously, I do have to cut back. I don't want to end up like my Mom, dying from cirrhosis. She had a long painful death. It's weird though, me and my two sisters drink like fish. You'd think it would be the other way, but not.
One of my sisters is the worst. She has diabetes and she drinks Zinfindel (out of a box). God that stuff is sweet . Oh well, my blood work continues to be good, so I guess I'll keep right on sluggin' em down.

    Cheers!

What's really good about this thread is that we all crack each other up, as well as, ourselves. That's a really good thing, because it can get really get so heavy on some of the other threads. It's nice to have a place to come to for some good old fashioned fun with or without booze.
    Better with, of course.

i'm gonna open the bar early today........company is coming so perfect excuse. but then i have to start to behave next week.

My friends have been shutting down their pool for a week. I told them it is a west Nile breeding ground - yuk! It is a really nice size abouve ground, I told them to throw it away and start over next year.
Summer is over, but with these hot flashes, I may keep the ac on all fall thru winter. I LOVE fall. Can't wait for sweater weather and post season baseball playoffs.

Well, it's finally cooled down enough to enjoy the patio and outdoor dining. It's too darn hot out during the summer, so we actually begin our outdoor experiences in the fall. 86 degrees at 5:30 pm, perfect. By the way, the bar is open, why is it so slow??

I would never ignore you!! Health care, schmealth care, maybe it'll be worth the move. At least there would be a lot of palm trees and warm weather. Oh, and don't forget the mojitos.

funny shel - I had to go to work by noon today, but off by 5pm. Now, I'm dead tired on a sat. night. Not going out or drinking. I'm staying in and watching movies, paying for a late night last night.
hey, if you're worried about healthcare in the Keys, just think, if you had to be sick, what beautiful scenery and sunshine you'd be able to enjoy. Oh, but you'd have the new risk of hurricanes. Maybe you should just visit often

    thanks lini and christine...........

we've turned down a few opportunities in the keys and bahamas because of BC and the fear of recurrence.......we talked a bunch tonight about "screw it, lets just go".........i'm thinking it just might happen this time!

thanks for the kind words.......jess and i grew up together and "till next time" always breaks my heart.......my family raised her and her family raised me.......we are each others "constant".......it's hard!

we laugh a ton, but always wind up crying at the end of each visit.

Best friends are a treasure. you're solucky to beable to vist with each other. I haven't seen my best friend for almost 17 years! Lost contact with her as she went through some rough times, but recently found her again. Still don't hear from her as often as I had hoped. Feel so alone up here sometimes. no one to go do anything with except hubby & kids.

Well the back is still hurting pretty bad so I'm off for tonight

    Hugs & prayers

Well, I left this thread open so I could make sure to see what you ladies are up to! I am so glad that you guys have a lighter side over here.

Lini, I live in So Cal, too, so for me, it's now time to open the windows and let the fresh air in. My swimming pool is getting dug now and will be open by Halloween. I am having severe hot flashes and can't wait to just beach myself in a chair in the pool.

Having a glass of wine for the end of the day.

    Cheers!

TM - Windows and screens were cleaned spic and span today, and yes, they are open and the AC is finally off. Fall is a beautiful time here, well except for that darn fire over in Cherry Valley.

cheryl.........i hope your pain improves soon!

the best friend "thing" has actually been really difficult since my BC and our separation.........we had a chance to "hash it out" this visit, since i "looked normal"and was "energetic"......but there is a big strain on our friendship because of all of this and it just breaks my heart!

all of my friends just want the old "shel".....little do they know i want her back too lol!.......oh well, everyday i get closer to "me"

    Welcome Grubby!

Well, Thursday night's date was good, too! The 3 things he has up on Mr. Monday night are: 1) no kids, 2) no cats, and 3) no cigarettes. I'm not sure if Monday night is going to get another date but I do know that Mr. Thursday night is going to - this Wednesday night! And, I have Claire (Claiire on the MOJO thread) to thank for all of my hot kissers!

Here's to kissing, mojo AND drinking! Cheers!
