To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury; and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable; and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasion, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden, and unconscious to grow up through the common.  This is to be my symphony.  -William Henry Channing

Saw Dr. Migas for my 3 month check in. Said my blood work was perfect (no red indicators) just waiting on the cholesterol to come back. Said my pain and craving and weight gain the past 3 weeks are the drug, but since the FEMARA only lasted 4 days before I chucked it and yelled at him, I am clinging to Arimidex and hoping I can keep it about where it is.

Pause to appreciate the beauty around you.
    Whether rainbow or butterfly,
mountain or tree, painting or poem -
whether crafted by nature or by a human hand -
beauty adds a magical element to life
    that surpasses logic and science.

Redheaded1 --- I have a friend who got a Nutribullet ( I have one as well ) and they have a booklet that comes with it for "health" type drinks and one  -- maybe more I really don't know -- addresses high cholesterol.  My friend's issue was that he just simply felt that the current group of cholesterol lowering medications has so many harmful side effects that he had little wish to use them.  He not only got good results with lower cholesterol but dropped a number of un-necessary pounds as well.  You might want to research this a bit.

I wanted to let all of you wonderful friends know that as of early tomorrow morning I will be going to work and not coming back home until Sunday night.  Hate the thought of missing putting in my quotes but at the same time the opportunity to make some extra money comes only on an occasional basis and helps me try and stay ahead of bills or catch up when I haven't quite managed to do that.  Do know that I'll be thinking of each and every one of you and will return just as quick as I can.

I hope your week-end is wonderful with good weather and you are able to soak up plenty of enjoyment.

    See you again soon.

    Blessings,

    Jackie

Karen, I am so sorry you had a rough time. I'm glad you feel up to posting now. Was the lung issue related to your breast cancer?

Whether you know it or not, one of the most
important relationships in your life is with your Soul.  Will you be kind
and loving to your Soul, or will you be harsh and difficult?  Many of us
unknowingly damage our Souls with our negative attitudes and actions or by
simple neglect. By making the relationship with your Soul an important part of
your life, however, by honoring it in your daily routine, you give your life
greater meaning and substance. Use your experiences--all of them--as
    opportunities to nourish your Soul!

I am still weak and I still have hardly no strength in my hands and my legs are still a little weak. but I try to stay busy, but I just want to sleep.

the radiation isn,t quiet helping. but I am a fighter and I am staying strong.

Some people never seem to grow old.  Always active in thought, always ready to adopt new ideas, they are never chargeable to fogeyism.  Satisfied, yet ever dissatisfied, settled, yet ever unsettled, they always enjoy the best of what is, and are the first to find the best of what will be.

Karen, count me in for lots and lots of prayers and healing positive energies being sent.  Doing chemo and rads sometimes turns into something of a big struggle --- but the pay-off once your through and going back up the hill to health is worth it all.

If the sight of the blue skies fills you
with joy, if a blade of grass springing
up in the fields has power to move
you, if the simple things of nature
have a message that you understand,
rejoice, for your soul is alive.

    hi IL ladies,

I have been following this thread since I was first diagnosed in March 2012. I am from the northern suburbs. I was just diagnosised with what I hope is a local recurrence while on Tamoxifen. Had my first bone scan and CT scan today. Waiting and worrying about test results is the hardest! Last time opted for bilateral mastectomy and did not need any further treatment except for tamoxifen,I bet This time I will have to do chemo and radiation. Will just follow my motto "do what i have to do".

    DoingwhatIhave to do,

Welcome to Illinois Ladies.  I'm sorry that you are having a "flare up" and hope that you get test results soon and be well on your way to taking care of things.  It is very hard to wait --- the mind seems to love to take you to areas you would never, ever go.  You sound ( love the motto ) resilient and very able.  I always think about how much we have in us --- we just don't always know it is there until something forces us into un-covering it.

We are a diverse group with lots of old-timers, of which I'm one.  I'm not too good at advice since I am so far out, but there are newer ladies who have had the benefit of whatever new txs have come along.  We are ( we oldies ) good though at caring and sending lots of positive healing thoughts, energy and vibrations with tons of hope for good outcomes.  We are here for you.

    Blessings

    Jackie

Thank you for he warm welcome! I got the best news possible. CT scan and bone scan were clear and showed no evidence of metastasis! I realize I have dodged a bullet and I Am blessed! I am going to celebrate by going on vacation and make a plan of care when I return. Vacation will be a great distraction.

I'm in the chair right now for my last chemo!

I spent the last two weeks super sick with an infection--double ear infection, throat infection, cough, fever...you name it, I had it all! Of course, I got it right after my last chemo when my neutrophils were down to .88 so my infection fighters were slacking!

My numbers were good today so it's a go!!!
