Wendy, you are just too good about going to that gym. I'm on here early. Mainly due to the fact that I won't be back till much later tonight. Have to go to Maggie's.....get a list from her and go out and do some grocery shopping for her and her friend Sherry. Maggie just can't get out in this weather/snow/drifts etc. and Sherry can only drive with one hand so she does not need to be out on the slippery roads either. Hate that I have to do it after work and in the dark, but it will be more than likely much warmer then. Was 34 degrees last night on the way home. Toasty next to what we have been having. Hmmmm, I'm going to have to check how I take my meds. I don't separate my calcium from my synthroid....yikes. May have been wasting it all this time. No med professional ever said anything to me.
Well, I'm going to run, my Internet is acting strange. I type and seconds later the word finally shows up. Making me nervous. See ya'll late tonight. No spell check now either so hope I haven't made too many mistakes. Have a fantastic day everyone.

Do you thin BLAHgo is eligable for unemployment compensation?
0 -
Checked back in to see how this was behaving.....it now seems much better. I don't think Blago should be able to get unemployment or the job pension but they are already saying when he is old enough he WILL get the pension. Obviously.....most here probably see it just the way I do....give the perks, pensions, unemployment etc. to those who have used their work position...whatever it was, honestly, fairly and to the best of their ability at the time. A person who is deemed un-fit for office due to shady dealings does not deserve any reward from state tax-payers period.
Guess I'm hard as nails ---- but what does it take to stop this kind of thingSee ya'll later.

No medical professional ever told me about when to take calcium, either, but I think they thought I already knew. I take half my days dose early in the am, and I take my additional 2000u of D, and some other stuff like claritin at noon. Then around 5PM I take the rest of my daily dose of calcium. Late at night I pop my lipitor, and I'm finished. It's exhausting, and I'm only on one prescription med, which is the lipitor! But the calcium can cause trouble with absorbing other drugs {think Tums.} Also, vitamin D is best absorbed in the gel cap form than the tablet. My levels only started going up after I switched to the caps. They say it is a good idea to have four hours between calcium and other meds.
It's 11 degrees now, and the sun is out. I hope all this cold weather is helping the polar bears, because it is not so great for the rest of us!
Sharon, I'm so sorry we didn't get a chance to do a lunch before you had to go back, but let's look forward to the May gathering. So happy you are feeling better!
Leesa, JanClare, Karin where are you? Karin, I can't believe how our weather is happening by you!
Rita, hope your sinus problems are clearing up, and you are enjoying the sun. 50's sounds tropical to us now.
Laura, I've been wondering the same thing. Even if Blago was a good guv, six years doesn't seem long enough for full pension. I don't think pension has been decided yet, but I think he'll lose it for sure if he loses the criminal trial. I'm with you Jackie, feeling hard as nails, but I do feel sad about his children. I know Ryan's wife is old and sick, and has financial problems. They sure don't think about their families, do they?
Wendy, I know I could get another "puter, but my DH would be insulted if I did. He would want to put the same security on it that we have on the others, and that might be the problem. Spyware doctor doesn't seem to want to work with McAfee, and when we disable spyware the thing actually works! We'll see. Thanks for the ideas. I LOVE your beach scene. Hawaii is my favorite place.
See you all later!

What a week. I decided to take next Monday off so I can hang around my grandhchild. My daughter is due February 5. I think she may be a few days late. My grandchild is just a baby herself! We are going to a SuperBowl party on Sunday. I need a rest. The weather makes life more of a struggle. So I took a leap of faith and planned a "mental health" day for myself for Monday. Obviously you can tell I already feel guilty about doing that! I am pathetic!
My primary told me about vitamin C and D and it was never mentioned by any other cancer-related doctor. I am so haphazard about when AND IF I take it. My bone density came back as wonderful so I am relieved as my mother had bad bones without any arimidex thrown into the mix!
Yes, ladies, the economy is scary. My school district is trying to pass a referendum and things are looking bleak right now. If it doesn't pass, my small school district will lose 12 JOBS! That would be teachers, custodians, secretaries. This does not factor in the loss of teacher assistants and other para-professionals. We are told that this is just the tip of the iceberg as we will also lose budgets, textbook allowances, field trips, etc. I know I will not be there, due to retirment, yet I am amazed at how this will change the district where I have worked for 20 years
Well, I bet Rita is in a sunny place. Connie, so glad you had fun!
Jackie, when I retire I am going to take time to collect all those quotes. I get so caught up that I miss a few days and they are always so thought-provoking.
I hope you all have a peaceful and happy weekend.
Susan

Hi all.....I'm just a little too pooped to participate but I'll see you all tomorrow. Have a wonderful thank god it's Friday.....evening.
Jackie
A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it. Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.

Morning! I see by the weather that we will be warmer this week, all the way to maybe 40 by Friday. Get the shorts out....
Susan....your SD too? Heads rolled here in U46 on Thursday in the district office...many people let go. Temps are reduced in classrooms, no money for paper! Cuts everywhere. Jeepers. Wish DH could retire but he joined the public schools late after spending 24 years in the archdiocese, which has recently told us that his pension has been cut by 40% if he were to start taking it now. We can only hope that things turn around. Right now...he will be working for years to come.
Smerf....you know? Funny about that security stuff. I bought a new puter in November and it should have been quite zippy but I found it soooooo slooooooow compared to my old 4 and 5 year old ones. In fact, I was trying to get a recipe out of food network and it hung up on every page. I use AOL as my ISP and on this puter we had installed spybot and microtrend. Well....I closed aol and opened interent explorer and tried foodnetwork....well...zip, zip, zip...done. My guess is that aol and my security don't like each other! The email is fine and about half the websites are OK, the rest I go thru explorer. Strange. Why do YOU think the gel caps for Vit D work better? I have almost a full bottle of coated VitD3 caps but if you think yours work better.....
Jacks...I love the smile quote....I love smiling at people...really throws them sometimes!!!! It's actually funny....
Blackjack...how did DS's interview go? How's Mom?
Not much going on this weekend....DH doesn't like superbowl parties anymore since he stopped all alcohol over 11 years ago...he said no one watched the game much after the first quarter. I said...yes they do, you just don't remember!!!!!!! So I will make my low fat version of natchos and he will be happy. I even give him the big TV in the fam room. Just hope there is a good movie or something on....
I am off to have another cup, then shower and off to the library as I am out of books. I did buy the "Story of Edgar Sawtelle" and I am sorry....I have started and stopped this book several times and this time I made it halfway. I just cannot get into it. So I have it, should someone want to borrow it, or quite frankly...you can have it.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend....stay warm but enjoy the warmer temps! Tops down, fists up!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JAN....AND MANY, MANY MORE !!!!!!!

Good Morning all.....I'm not working quite right here, but I'll do some clean-up procedures and see how it goes I'm hanging up again like I was yesterday.....hmmm, little bug in my machine. Who knows.
Wow !!!! so many people will be affected by all that has gone on for the last 8 years and the extra-ordinary steps now that it will take to try and I guess I'm stressing TRY, to get us out of it and going back the other way. I know Dh's tiresome family are already castigating and fault-finding as far back as Jimmy Carter.....I think that is being done so the last 8 years will seem somehow better. They are such tiresome people.....shame, blame and regret have no place here and will do nothing to help --- pointing fingers at everyone in back of the last 8 years will do nothing. I just want to grow up here and move forward --- because I do think we can get there and I want to feel love and pride in my country again. Ok --- this isn't about politics....but I do feel sorrow for the losses that are going on.....that are so disruptive to so many people.
I am I think nearly recovered already from my long, somewhat hard week of shoveling etc. Yesterday on the way to work a really nice lady apparently ( I was not out on MeadowLane yet ) moved over due to another car coming toward her.....and the ditch just sucked her right in. I was just pulling out onto MeadowLane....stopped at my mail and newspaper box and went on down to where she was.....no boots, no hat or gloves. She was older like me.....and was going to walk back home......so I made her get into my car as I could not let her do that dressed as she was. Her son had been going back and forth.....so she thought she could get to her cleaning job. I got her home......we did fish-tail a few times. Scared her somewhat, but I'm sure she thought I would end up in a ditch too. My 4-wheeler does not do bad, but can provide a little excitement. She told me when I got her up to her carport....that her husband was in the house not feeling well ( that old flu is still making the rounds ) and that he would be so happy that someone brought her home. Who wouldn't have helped her ----- I'm just hoping she herself is not still in recovery from the fish-tailing. Living out here.....I did it for three days and was quite used to it.
Hmmm, despite whatever is going on with my computer right now ?????? I put Google up as my home page, but use Internet Explorer exclusively and have no problem at all.....I'm starting to wonder though......if maybe my mouse is trying to die. Just before I got back on here.....I ask my computer to update my drivers and that seems to have made a big improvement for the moment....could I have inadvertently did cardio-pulmonary resuscitation on my mouse ???? I'm so dumb where these things are concerned. I still think it's a miracle every day when I turn this thing on. Viola !!! all my friends ( ahem, and a few enemies probably ) are just waiting it seems on the other side of the screen somewhere. Ah good ole' technology and progress. I love it.
Well, I'm going to get some of my day started --- not sure with what.....whatever jumps in front of me first I guess. Hope you all have a great Saturday as it warms..........with all the snow piles it will be some time before we melt.....but this is definitely the start of something good.

Not sure what to do...I have a HORRIBLE sore throat! My Dr. doesn't do Saturdays. I just looked at it with a flashlight...it's very red but I didn't see any white spots. Temp is 99.1, but I feel stuffy and a little "fluish". Should I go to an urgent care ctr. re: my throat. I'm not kidding...I can barely swallow. I'm thinking that if I go - they can take a culture. If I have an infection I could immediately go anti-b's... Any advice?
HELP!
0 -
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes.....I WOULD have said this was a bad birthday based on numbers but now there are nothing but good birthdays and the older the better !!!!!!!
Laura, if you go to an Urgent Care they can do a Quick Strip for Strep and put you on a Z Pack on the other hand if it is viral or a flu you dont want an antibiotic.....but at least if you had a quick strip culture you would know.
Im going out for dinner tonight, and for tonight, Im aborting all my new healthier eating habits in lieu of pure desire.....dessert being near the top of the list.....*bigsmile*

OM! A nurse - just when ya need one! Thanks Jan.
I am going to shower and head up there.
Of course - I am scaring the heck out of myself. What if it's throat cancer!? My dad died from it at the age of 34 - and my friend Kurt (the one who's wife recently died in her sleep from an Aneurysm) was dx'd with throat cancer at the same time as my dx. Non-smokers! How scary... I guess I'm concerned because I NEVER get sore throats. I had one once when I was a youngster. Oh... I hate this!

Well...I decided to wait and see what happens over night. Maybe it will get better. I took pain meds and I'm drinking some warm tea...couldn't stand it hot-too painful, so I cooled it a bit. It's always something!

Happy Birthday, Jan! Remember, there are no calories on your birthday. At least that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Getting old is why we go through all our treatments, and I'm always happy when I reach that next number.
Laura, sorry you are not feeling well, but Jan gave you good advice. If it isn't strep, then you can sit on it awhile. Try to relax, and remember that throat ca doesn't usually present suddenly, nor with a slight temp. Doesn't feel like flu either, so I hope you can be reassured. I know how easy it is for us to go to the worst place first. Feel better, and come back to let us know, okay?
The snow seems to be melting everywhere except in my neighborhood. For some reason, it really hangs on here, and my yard still looks like the white frozen tundra of Siberia.
Have to jump on the treadmill before I lose the will. Talk to you all later!

Thanks Pat for taking the time to address my latest PITA (pain in the a**. lol)... And btw...I still think you should host an ice skating party in your back yard... we could skate, and build a bon fire and have a marshmallow roast with hot chocolate of course! lol
-------------------------------------------------------------
I just talked to blackjack - she's piss** that I'm going to wait overnight to go to the urgent care ctr...lol She's such the MOTHER HEN! But awwwwwwwwwww... how special is that! She threatened to come over to my house and drag me there! The pain meds are helping... my paranoia is still not good though!

Laura, I think it would have to be sledding....no ice, only knee deep snow. It is improving though, because it was thigh deep snow. Watching the deer navigate has been very interesting.
When I said if it isn't strep, then you can sit on it awhile, I was trying to gently say just what Blackjack said. If you get the culture, and find out it isn't strep, then you can rest, and use home remedies like gargling with salt water and such. If it is strep, antibiotics are imperative. You can actually have strep without a sore throat too, so it can be a tricky little bug. The problem is that often the sore throat goes away, and you never knew it was strep. Then you can get the strep complications, and that's no fun at all. So, to sum it all up, cultures are good things to get!
PS About the paranoia, you're entitled as we know, but keep in mind that pain meds and tea do not help throat ca, but they do help bad throats from all the other causes. Take a deep breath, and get thee to the clinic!

Hi Gals...
Just a quick pop in to tell you that we made it safely. We were actually hot when we left the airport on Thursday. Then the cold air came in on Friday. We still walked the beach and then went shopping and out to eat at a great beach bar and grill. It was cool this morning so we went to the huge flea market but it warmed up nicely this afternoon and we were wearing shorts. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 70's and nice again on Monday. We have tee times for golf at a nice course on Monday and are hanging out on the beach and around the pool tomorrow. It looks like more cold air will arrive on Tuesday but its still better than those frigid Illinois temps. Wish all of you were here!
More later.......

Rita! I am so jealous. It is so cold here.
Laura, I am not a nurse (heaven help the sick if I was) but I bet you have a virus. I know it is not cancer because I googled throat cancer and you don't have the typical symptoms. Sadly, after googling your worry, I now worry I have throat cancer as I have a hoarse voice and have had one since I got that nasty bug! I now will do my three-week rule and if I am still hoarse I will make the appointment to get that thingy looked at. I have always thought that some people are predisposed to strep or that they are not. If you never get sore throats, you probably do not have strep. Blackjack is a school nurse and isn't it true, Blackjack, that the same kids get strep over and over, while some kids never get it? Anyway, I hope you are feeling better.
Wendy, I read with interest your description of the money issues in Elgin. I was actually told that I should order my textbooks for my replacement NOW as my order could be rejected if the referendum doesn't pass. The class coming up is much larger and so I need to get the books in place for them. They are so expensive $100/per kid) and if I don't get them, the new teacher would not be able to assign homework as we do not have enough to go around. In other words, all reading would be in the classroom which is absurd for a high achieving, New Trier-bound 8th grader, simply because we do not have enough books. Let's hope Mr. Obama can lead us out of this crisis. Also, Wendy, we have the camera already to show our Illinois ladies the lovely blanket you made. There is a bit of cultural superstition here in that we cannot bring out the gift or show it until the baby is born healthy. That looks like it will be pretty soon!
Jackie, you sound a bit under the weather. Hello, who wouldn't living in Illinois? Are you feeling okay. And don't call yourself "older" as you are just a bit older than I am and I won the HULA HOOP contest at my school's Winter Madness Assembly. Hey girls, the hulu hoop is kinda cool!
Take care,
Susan

Thanks girls - Pat and Susan, etc...I knew I could count on you! Now...not only is bj pissed at me for NOT going to the urgent care ctr... but so too is my dh and MOM...I am just so afraid of what they'll find. I could not go... I am not prepared to deal with another dx. I did alot of surfing....I am convinced it's bad lymph nodes in my throat that is causing my probs/pain...there's two, located in the neck called cervical nodes. I'm certain they are the culprit...they're located in the exact place of my pain. AND I read that they can be inflamed if lung cancer is present. Of course I worry because I had an unclean margin at my chest wall after my first Mast and...a positive Sent Node!. I have always worried that it could spread to my lungs. AND of course...most of my throat pain is on the left side...THE SAME SIDE as my bc/unclean margin! Gawd... whatever...! I am worrying myself sick. It's 2:30 in the morning...I can't sleep...will take a sleeping pill soon. dh is so distraught...wants to take me to the ER... I put on clean, pretty pj's just in case I need to be transferred to the ER. Don't laugh... I'm a control freak... have to be prepared for everything. I still feel somewhat feverish, but it's weird... it doesn't feel like the typical "flu"...gawd... this is awful. I took a hot bath... felt great, but didn't quite do the trick - so to speak. Still have much pain swallowing...I'm sorry... hate to sound like a paranoid, chicken sh** freak... but oh well... that's exactly what I am right now.
Rita - Glad you arrived safely! I am so happy for you... you soooooooooooooo deserve your getaway. Enjoy, dear sister!
Susan - I can't wait to see pics... how exciting to have another little one to love and hug and spoil!
Jackie - Hope you're feeling okay...please let us know... AND... I will PM you... do you want Buddy's staircase?

Morning All!
OK...Laura....I don't check in one afternoon and you have dx'd yourself as having lung ca????? No need to hop over the the ER, or even Urgent Care...how about the Minute Clinic at a CVS? The nurse can do the Quick Strep for you I am sure. Smerf's right...if this is a strep infection and you don't treat it you could be a very sorry little girl! You should find out tho...most probably it's this nasty virus that everyone seems to be getting this winter. Feel better....but if your throat hurts that much you need to find out. I remember some years ago I had the WORST throat pain ever...it turns out I had a HUGE canker sore, just out of sight. Not saying that's what you have tho with the temp and flu-like symptoms.
Jackie...did I miss something? I thought it was your computer that wasn't feeling well! Are you OK? Sure was nice of you to help that lady...but then that's typical Jackie!
Rita...you bum...I am so jealous! You are on a beach, in shorts! Have a Bud Light for me and a cosmo for Blackjack!
Jan...what did you have for dessert? Inquiring minds need to know....
Susan..there are a lot of changes in all school districts I am guessing.....no money coming in from the state right now and I thnk they are all preparing for it never to arrive. Hard to believe that you don't even have money for books and you have to share! I know what you mean about a new baby...I have learned not to make anything in pink or blue unless the baby is here, hence the yellow. Those ultrasounds aren't always right!
I did get to the library yesterday so I am prepared for the game. I picked up 3 of Lisa Gardner's books per Rita's suggestion so I think I will try one of those first. Not much else going on around here....very quiet. Next week no doctors but the dentist...oh goody...just love the dentist. Actually I only see her for a minute or two.....but her hygienist will keep me in that chair for almost an hour! She is VERY meticulous so I guess that is good.
Have a great day everyone! Don't eat too much at all those superbowl parties. And WHY does it start at 12 noon, when the GAME doesn't start til 5??????? How many stats do we really need!

Good Morning everyone.......hmmmm, sorry that I said something that made so many think I was ill.....I'm way too mean. It was only my computer and since I refreshed the drivers it seems to be fine. I DID however spend most of Friday and Friday night tired. On Wednesday I shoveled out all the feral cats as well as ( even though a friend was here with his Bush-Hog plow )a large part of our driveway area so we could turn around......and so we didn't need to wade in hip deep snow to get in our cars --- the scream is a NOT FUN alert you hear right now --- and all of our wooden sidewalk and a lot of our deck ----- so I needed to catch up on sleep and get rid of that bone deep weariness that starts to creep in when you sleep but don't rest as well as you should. It is all better now.
Yesterday was tree cutting day....the big oak next to my drive-way. Keith is a marvel to watch. He has no bucket or anything....just girds ropes around him, spikes his way up the tree....cuts all the limbs and swings them to the ground with pulley ropes.....then takes the trunk down. Exciting conversation here right....I know your all hanging on my every word and breathless as can be. I just find Keith's bravery amazing. He ties himself in a rope.....to a dead tree over 100 feet off the ground and starts sawing limbs off.
Laura, Laura, Laura.....quit reading and thinking sweet lady....it's bad for your health. Just go to the Dr. or ImmediaCare and get a culture. I know the aches, pains and weird sensations ( that no one thought a thing about before ) now bring the worst visions possible to almost everyone but with your not knowing you can torture yourself endlessly for ?????? and you are maybe worrying yourself sick ---- we all want you to be well so just go to appease all of us....ok. And for the record...no one is laughing at your need to control --- we all want to be in charge when Rome is burning.
Rita....you are missing all the fun here --- try not to be too jealous of our beautiful snow. Aarrg.
Lots of mia's on here but got to tell you....don't think I'll be watching the SuperBowl -- I don't watch sports and find myself doing slow yawn's when I listen to people who do. It's ok if you like it, but it's never been my thing.
Oops....sorry about the older thingy Susan. I'm 63 but really most of the time feel ( or my impression of anyway ) at least ten or more years younger. I always have. Told someone a while ago......when I was really young...like my first 10 or so years.....I felt so very, very old but like Benjamin Bottom I guess.....now that I am actually at a figure that I once THOUGHT was pretty advanced on the number scale --- I can't feel it at all. I guess for the most part and for me it really is true....that age is only a number ---- three is a lucky number and 63 is triple threes -- what could be better.
Okie-dokey....I've bored all of you long enough. I'm off to find a quote. Talk to you later.
Jackie

Laura, please take real control, and go get the quick strep rest. Doing all the research on ca seems to be making the situation worse, and causing you and your DH too much stress! Your symptoms are not usual for any kind of ca, but if it is strep you need antib's. Strep throat can clear up on its own, but you risk the complications which include kidney infection and rheumatic fever. Jackie is right about this....too much reading is not good for your health.
Jackie...I'm impressed by your tree guy too, but keep an eye on him just in case. My guys came with three of them to take down a large elm, and they used slings with one man on the ground to control them. It took three days, and I was glad someone was watching so no one would get hurt. And no branches crashed through the roof. Dutch elm got it, but it was too close to the house anyway. Traumatic at the time, but now I'm glad because so much more light comes into the kitchen.
Susan...might you still have a some postnasal drip left over from your recent illness? That could cause you to be hoarse for awhile. I know how hard it is to not go to the dark place, but you have got a good plan with the two or three weeks wait. I'm so sorry to hear about the financial problems at school. It seems to be spreading everywhere, and I think we're in for even more belt tightening.

Morning! Notice I didn't type the word "good" before morning! lol Give me some credit...I still have a sense of humor. I did finally fall asleep - thank goodness - it's really BORING being awake in the middle of the night when MOST of our country is sleeping peacefully. I still feel sick but my throat isn't AS sore... I still plan on getting it cultured today... I forgot... the Walgreens down the road has a clinic... would be less expensive than the urgent care ctr... and more suitable for just a sore throat... urgent care clinic is a bit overkill!
Jackie - I wish I had a "Keith" near me! We need quite a few Oaks trimmed...but it's sooooooooooooooooooo expensive... unfortunately, most companies price their services on how expensive your house looks! It's ridiculous. Thanks... I loved your ROME analogy! You are so wise, dear! Question: what do you feed your ferrels?
0 -
Hello:
You sound better, Laura, and yes, you still have a sense of humor. I did not even know that drugstores have clinics. How does that work and how can I find out more about it. I hate the er as it takes forever to find out that you need to go to your doctor the next day. Laura, I took my mom to that walk in place on McHenry Road near Lake Cook Road. Do you know what I am talking about? I am not sure if they accept all insurance but you get in and out fast. Maybe your husband could call Darn, I cannot think of the name! They would never diagnose anything cancerous, so no fear of that, but they would be able to rule out strep.
I feel so sad as I can tell you are anguished by this and fear can put you in a halt. Can you put your DH in complete charge and put everything, every decision in his hands? Let him make some decsions.
Jackie, I hate football. It is just a time for old friends to get together. I am sure half of us (mostly the women) have no idea who is playing. I know it is the Steelers, but I will need to see they are playing against. We get together with couples we met when our kids were in preschool together in Elmhurst, so friends we have had for 24 years! Also, we go when the game begins, forget the pre-game.
Hey tree trimmers. We called MANY places for tree trimming and we deliberately called places not located in the North Shore. The range was unbelievable, all were bonded, and we ended up hiring a group that charged FAR BELOW what we would have paid had we hired locally. The estimate is free, you do not need to be home when they come (unless that bothers you). I think that with the current economy, you may get a better deal (I could be wrong). If you want our tree trimmer company, we can research it and get the name. It was few years ago. We had to have major work as we had dutch elms and they had to go! If the elms are on your property, you have to pay for it and it is hefty!
Have a great day, ladies and GO STEELERS (only kidding)!
Susan

It's NOT strep! Yes, that's a good thing, but it doesn't help NOT knowing what it is! I'm confused...how could a throat be sore if it isn't infected? Will call my PCP tomorrow and talk to her. In the meantime... it's feeling a little better. But how can it feel better without meds or anti-b's? Inquiring minds... want to know.
