I hope it was great holiday for all. Carolyn, it was so good to hear from you.  I hope you are feeling well..

My body needs no more holiday.  It  all continued today.  My Swedish aunt had prepared glogg for us and I drank that at one in the afternoon followed by a pork loin, mashed potatoes, gravy and biscuits.  IT IS MONDAY for heaven sakes!   I am becoming decadent.  I had forgotten that she eats "supper" and so DH and I ate supper!  I actually am looking forward to a routine.  DD and I are going to Wicked on Wednesday.  I have not seen it and I am told I am infor a surprise.

Rene, a comment on your comment about "best doctors".  Personality and character factors in so much.  I am dealing with a non-cancer issue (IBS) and see a gastroentologist (I have no idea how to spell that and spellcheck doesn't either) and I think this man is the best doctor I have ever had in my entire life. I know he is beloved as I see older folks bringing homemade goodies to him.  He happens to be Chinese, gentle, spiritual and so kind. Dealing with IBS could be embarrassing, but he makes me feel so comfortable.  He is young and never in a hurry. I leave feeling he cares about me as a person.   I believe skills are very important and experience is necessary, but that wonderful and genuine sense of caring about another human being is priceless in a doctor.  So if anyone needs a colonscopy, I've got the guy for you!Laughing As you can imagine, it is hard to get an appointment with him.

     Have a great week!

HI all.  Am back in the hospital again.  Had more seizures yesterday and apparently I can't keep the dilanetee level under control.  Brain is sweilling something fierce so it makes reading the blog difficult.  I try to tye very hard  but readying is very difficult. My sister reads the cards I've received. I missed my radation treatment yesterday.  So I still have 2 treatments left.

I'm still  not sleeping very well.

    Take care everyone!

Carolyn Not sure if you are reading this but I am so sorry you are back in the hospital again. Hopefully they can keep those seizures at bay. I might do a quick "drive by" if you're up for it. Today is tx #5 for me so I'll just be a few buildings away.

Hope everyone is ready for the rain/warm up at the end of the week. I personally like the idea that much of this snow will be washed away. It gets so messy in the city. Granted the streets will be flooded for sure.

Hi there!  Brrrrrrr....sure was cold yesterday, all day!  Never warmed up....12 this morning on the deck...but I am going up to get ready.  To the gym I go!  I didn't do very well yesterday on the diet.  I found the peppermint oreos AND the blue corn chips.  Oh well....today is a new day!

Carolyn...sorry to hear about your setback but I am sure that once your meds ar adjusted you will be feeling so much better.  Just hang on...better days are coming soon.  Hugs!

Rita....Merry Christmas!  OK...I know...but you are having yours a bit late!

Laughing about all the comments on FB about takind down decorations....I started sneaking stuff downstairs yesterday.  I love putting it up but once 12/26 comes I am ready to see it all go.

Gotta scoot already....had some trouble getting online this am so I am late....hope you all have a fantastic day.  Warmer temps coming with lots of rain.  Hope there is no flooding!!!

Now where did I put those frango mints????  One little piece won't hurt....

Carolyn - I am so sad that you are continuing to have problems with the treatment but glad that you are in the hospital being monitored carefully.  Stay strong.  Thinking of you.

We are face to face with our destiny, and we must meet it with a high and resolute courage. For us is the life of action, of strenuous performance of duty; let us live in the harness, striving mightily; let us rather run the risk of wearing out than rusting out.

    Carolyn,

I am so sorry to hear you needed to be back in the hospital.  Thank goodness you did have a Christmas at home with loved ones.  I echo the rest and hope you get great control going with your meds and are able to finish your txs w/o incident.  Adding lots of love and prayers and healing hugs for your well being.  A special hug to your family support system too.

Brrr as it remains cold here though I have not much resisted the weather in the 13 yrs. we have been back home.  Of course bearing in mind I came home much more well padded then when I left.  Will be interesting -- the late in the week thunderstorms.  We will be worried about mushy ground --  some places I won't be able to drive for a bit to feed the feral kitties.

Hope you are all going to have a productive Tues. I'll be checking in again late.  My day out at the shelter.  See you all then.

    Hugs, Jackie

Hope none of you get this latest bug that's going around. Since 4am, I have been sick with it. Started with the chills, then temp, now tummy guirgling (sp?). Pepto to the rescue. NO FUN at all!

Carolyn - More hugs to you! Hope you're resting comfortably.

Hi there. Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday.  Been busy here with my kids finally coming back from their cruise and my DH home all this week.  Gab is walking up a storm so my DH is busy making gates.. He is the kind of person that has to MAKE everything himself.. because the ready made stuff is never 'good enough'.. I've been dealing with my headaches.. they come on and off..My Onc wanted to do an MRI but they seem better so I want to do my scan in 3 weeks and if it's clean, then hold off 'til April and enjoy the 3 months in between and do my trial..  Herceptin tomorrow.. taking my older 2 with.. want them to see my world.. not just the world of fancy dinners and cruises that they know with their Dad..

Caroly, hope they have figured things out for you and that  you are doing better!!

Everyone else, hope you are enjoying the family time!!

Just got back from Chemo & visiting Carolyn 1/2 hour ago. Chemo was uneventful… and I need a new name for Nurse Ratched. She was extremely nice and spent a lot of time with me.

Carolyn looks good and cute as ever. Funny how we can be sick but looks good. It was really nice to see her and hear her laugh. I hope I cheered up a little.

OK I'm going out to dinner with friends. Gotta get out and enjoy before the steriods wear off. I have tonight & tomorrow!

mak - I thought about you today! Was wondering how you've been doing. Sorry about the headaches...hang in there! If you ever need help with anything...a ride to chemo, etc., just please don't hesitate to ask...we're a stones throw away from each other.

lago - You only have one MO CHE-MO? Good for you. How about a new name for Ratched...Nurse Jekyll and Hyde (nurse J&H for short). AND...awesome that you took the time to visit Carolyn. Thanks for sharing your visit with us. I am going to try to get there this week, although I have to make sure my flu is NOT contagious! Enjoy your dinner...you sure have earned some fun time.

    ------------------------------------------

I am feeling a little better. Fever broke...but my body aches are really bad. Hot bath is in my evening plan.

That was a nice entry, Lago, about Carolyn. I am so happy she looks cute. Carolyn, you may or may not feel cute, but do know that we all picture you cozy and comfy and cute.   Of course you wish to be in your home or in your sister's home with your precious kitty, but soon that will happen.  We all are thinking and praying for you.

Makmak, always good to hear from you. I think it is hard to determine the source of a headache when you are sick with a cold and experiencing the stresses of holiday.  if they continue you will reach the time that you want to investigate further.  Damn cancer  makes everything mysterious and daunting and that is perhaps the worse part of the disease.....the worry of the unknown.

Rita, pretty soon those little boys will be running around and you will watch them with delight.  Please tell me what each loved the most. Adeline loved these tiny calico family figures that are popular with little girls.  She likes to pretend with them.  Lila Grace loved her Curious George Jack in the Box.  DH did finally got his Lionel train going and that was happy but lost on the kids.

The family watched the Sound of Music and sang all the songs.  There was a reunion of the actors on Oprah!  Julie Andrews is still so lovely-looking.

Be happy all!  Tomorrow is Wicked and I am so happy to be able to see it.  I get to take the train and that is so much fun.

    Laura, feel better!

Thanks Lauren for stopping by and lifting my spirits.

Last treatment tomorrow and then I can go home. Yeah!  See oncologist on Wednesday to discuss further plan. My sister mentioned I have a ton of cards at home.  Thanks to everyone for your sweetness and generosity.

    Have a nice night.

    Love to all!

Onward, wishing you well today.  Carolyn, hoping you will finish up and be able to go home today too.

Long day yesterday, but they are mainly so satisfying when I go out to the shelter.  Adopted out two of the sweetest kittens yesterday --- always makes for a happy day for me.  The woman who took them was just so thrilled.  We had to reverse our order and do the home visit after she took them.......and she was still just as thankful and happy.

May rain today......not looking forward to all the wetness and since it will warm and melt the snow and ice --- wet will end up an understatement.  Hope we don't float away.

I have tons of things to try and catch up on but hopefully will make good headway in the next couple of days.

    I'll be checking in later.

    Hugs, Jackie

Carolyn - Hope you're packing your bags soon and heading home. Best wishes...will call you later and rattle your cage.

onward - Good luck at today's treatment. Hope the wrapping is helping your LE - you've been diligent...that will do the trick.

Jackie - Thanks for working at the shelter! You have a heart of gold. Nice to read that one person took BOTH kitties...they will be playmates. Thank you for thinking of all the fur babies and Maggie.

    -------------------------------------------

I am feeling better this morning, although I didn't sleep well. No more fever and the body aches aren't as bad. What a difference a day makes. Be well, be warm, be safe, be optimistic.

illinoislady - What shelter do you work at?  I adopted my kitty, Charlotte, a year ago from the Anti-Cruelty Society downtown.  She ended-up being sick with an upper respiratory infection but the clinic there took her and a wonderful vet took care of her until she was healthy again (I have a 12 year old cat so did not want to expose him to a sick cat).  She is doing great now and is just the sweetest cat.

Good Morning all, just checking in on this wonderful group of gals.  I hope everyone has a good day.  A little slow here at work, so I've been able to catch up on my new buddies. I'll add a "little" humor here -- very "little."  My dad called last night and asked how I was. (Well know that I think about it, at least this time he DID hear my answer.) I answered that my back was acting up more than usual and he said "well, it's Tuesday!") WTH does that mean? Usually, if I say I don't feel so great he'll say "that's good sweetie.  Thanks, I feel much better now after venting!!

Scrapbook --- how perfect --- since it can work for every day of the week.  A little frustration huh !!!  At least he can tickle your sense of humor.

Susan......I don't mind a bit enjoying the good things twice.....

Char -- I'm down in southern Illinois and volunteer and am on the Board of our local no-kill shelter.  It is my hearts delight --- though sometimes wearing --- you sometimes think of how many you have.......and know how many more are out there not receiving the help, kindness, daily training, medical care etc. that you provide to the fortunate ones that find their way to the facility.  At least, we do what we can.  We don't turn blind eyes to the plight of all these wonderful animals.

Susan - You are way too humble! lol How adorable! I cannot believe how much your older g-daughter looks like you! I remember my nieces having that high pitched girly scream! lol Wish they were still little. Sniff, sniff...

Marcia - Just for fun, next time you talk to your Dad if he asks how you're doing say "I am doing ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC, I FEEL LIKE I'M 20!"...curious to hear what his response would be.
