camillegal being advanced stage you really do need to do those scans. Your doctors need to know if the treatment is working... and if it stops they can change your meds. They also need to be sure that it isn't damaging your heart. It's a risk/reward thing. Everyone has to decide for themselves what that ratio is and if it's worth it. In your case it's a matter of life or death. I wouldn't be to concerned.

"We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us
something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our

delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit."

Good morning.  I thought I should tell you, though all will work the same tomorrow morning.......that I will be starting, after 9 a.m. in the morning a week's worth of early mornings and late nights at work.  So.....I will be putting in quotes late in the evening hours.  This time of yr. ( though we usually get something from income taxes ) there seem to be a little list of things that had to go begging......so extra income is always appreciated.

I am blessed with wonderful work to do and on occasion, though only about 9 hours per week normally, I get a lot more and start early and stay late.  It is not hard work. Good at my age ( 68 )  and I am thrilled  that I can.

Anyway....just thought I'd warn you that the upcoming week will be a bit different that way.

Hope you are all seeing the same sun I am this morning.  Wishing you well Amy and hoping that you and the PS come away with answers that satisfy both of you.

    Blessings

    Jackie

LOL Cami!  You and me both!  We have a hard time saying no!

I argued with the surgeon over the CT scan but he said it was necessary and I did it.

Now he's arguing with the insurance company!  lol

Third time is a charm? I hope so.  Conclusion:  Not infected, he sutured it up however the skin is still too thin to just leave it.  I could either have him perform a diep flap, if that is where they take muscle from the back and he would then put in a TE because I don't have enough fat.  OR replace the current 600 rounds with 400-425 anatomical, this is what he suggested, I will find out Monday a surgery date.

Thanks so much for the prayers and thoughts, I am having a difficult time with other people not understanding one saying "Is it really worth it Amy" "Uhhhh YES, what choice to I have"  gheezzz stupid question.  another person saying "So you are just not happy with the size you have, why can't he just keep it sutured up with no infection"  OMGSH!! YES I really want to go through another surgery and recovery of course that is why.  Because I LOVE being on antibiotics that dry out my hair, I LOVE being pumped with anesthesia that bloats me, I LOVE pain pills that make me constipated, I LOVE not being able to shower for days, I LOVE not being able to sleep on my tummy YES YES YES That is why.

    UGH!

Lago I know I get scanned all the time for one thing or another or they "watch" things so I get more. As u know I already see a Card--there has been damage, but it not awful just things they have to watch but I get echos with him so far and no flatliners so I'm lucky and that's why I see the Onc so often too and I know all this but I like to think that they just like having me around and I like to see them roll their eyes when they explain things to me and I say oh I really like the color of this room--I'm a terrible patient, but I'm doing better than they thought I'd be doing so it's best for me--I certainly don't advise this way for anyone--cuz I go all on ignorance--it's a big deal for me cuz I don't stress things at all and I really think that helps--but I don't stress much in life yet--I lost my home and car and said Oh well that's life and went on. Like the old saying when life gives u lemons u use them with vodka and who gives a chit. Oh wait I think I got that mixed up. But it does work better.

Well ladies I have been MIA for quite some time and just finished reading about the last 8 pages LOL. Anyway to hard to try and  respond to all the different points of the past conversations. Hopefully will have more time to check in regularally.

Amy, sorry to hear you are still dealing with healing issues and I certainly understand the frustration with comments so many people make because they just don't "Get It". Well we all "Got BC" and have to deal with so many different issues

I have sleep issues as well and will look for that supplement. Thanks Rita!

I am not a nurse and I am most certainly not an oncologist. Like Jackie I needed  to trust that they knew better than I did amid all the confusion regarding cancer care.  I never had scans unless I showed symptoms. If I showed symptoms.  I sure as heck wanted a scan if it was ordered, I think it is wise to be a bit of a skeptic but I am going  to  and paying these doctors because I do not know how to treat breast cancer and presumably they have the training (perhaps not perfect) to treat my health problem.

Okay, I guess I am showing my total lack of skepticism here...but how do you avoid an airport scanner? Do you ask for a private examination.

Amy, it sound like you have it under control.  I admire you!  Wondering is so hard.

If you don't want radiation at the airport you ask for a pat down.  They get a woman to do it.

    Metal scanners don't use radiation.

I love all of your input.  I am trying to figure out a way to copy my handouts to share with you from the seminar I went to, but we are also to avoid anything with urea (like sulfonurea) and formaldehyde in the ingredients.  I think nail polish is a culprit, except for OPI.  Most salons have OPI.  or bring your own. Target is now selling OPI.  Just don't use your debit/charge card there!  LOL!  They also recommend the Meyers line of cleaning products for the home and laundry.

I read a really great book, a true story of a BC survivor called "Breast Left Unsaid" by Calligros.  I highly recommend this book.  I actually reread it, which I seldom or never do.  Just finished the book recommended here "The Emperor of all maladies".  Not an easy read....but should be required for all medical people.

Thanks, Illinois ladies, you all inform my spirit, make me laugh, cry, and educate me all at once.

Great. Pretty soon we will be getting our diagnosis through some call service in India. You do know that when you call tech support and there is a long wait that typically the are googling the question. Honest, I've called the them on it. Many times they do admit to it.

Our attitude tells the world what we expect in return.  If it's a
cheerful, expectant attitude, it says to everyone with whom we come in contact
that we expect the best in our dealings with the world.  You see, we tend to
live up to our expectations.  And others give to us, as far as their attitudes
are concerned, what we expect.  Our attitude is something we can control.  We
can establish our attitude each morning when we start our day--in fact, we do
just that, whether or not we realize it.  And the people in our family--all the
people in our world--will reflect back to us the attitude we present to them.
It is, then, our attitude toward life that determines life's attitude toward
us.  Cause and effect.  Everything we say or do will cause a corresponding
effect.  If we're cheerful, glad to be experiencing this miracle of life, others
will reflect that good cheer back to us.  We are the kind of people others enjoy
    being around.

One of my favorite quotes as I help plan my high school class reunion in October:

"This is what you shall do:  Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to everyone that asks, stand up for the stupid and the crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyranny, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people...and your very flesh shall be a great poem."   -- Walt Whitman, found in the AARP Magazine and stuffed into one of my many notebooks

Are we ready for some polar vortex again?

I know I'm know for my positive posts but "I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF COLD AND SNOW" this year. I really need this to end.

I could handle the average temp for today, I could actually handle anything above freezing with no snow. I'm not fussy. Tomorrow is going to make today look like Florida! www.accuweather.com/en/us/chicago-il/60608/february-weather/348308

I now this might offend a few but cancer and winter can both go:

But, you know, it's been sunny and the 20's is not that horrible.  I think the weather reports are exaggerated because we're all so sick of it and it's almost spring. But personally, I've been surprised when I've  gone out that It's not armageddon.    Of course just getting out at all is SUCH a pleasure!  It's almost March...change is around the corner!

I'm off to New York tomorrow where it is a balmy 30 something!  Pish posh!

Yes, Cami, New York usually gets our weather a day later only plus ten-twenty degrees.  Last time I was there I could not believe what cry babies they were!  OMG!  It's snowing!  OMG!  It's 25 degrees!  I'm originally from New York and yes, it gets cold but not by our standards!  Maybe a day or two and then the snow melts.  When we came home and I saw this tundra, I felt as though I had landed on Antarctica.  Truly no comparison.  What really annoys me is the weathermen trying to make it seem even worse than it is!  lol  Even when it warmed up they were screaming about it, OMG!  everything will melt!  We will all be flooded.  I just sat there wondering where was the downside of it warming up and melting?  And my basement does flood!  But it was wonderful to see the snow melt to only one foot instead of 3.  lol  Can you tell I'm going stir crazy?  Almost March, almost March, almost March!!!!
