As this is more than 3 years old, it's not very relevant! Guess the answer is that anyone posting in the stage 1V forum should have mets!

Originally (at diagnosis): Mets to mediastinal nodes and left iliac bone. Chemo (6 rounds adriamycin-cytoxan-taxotere) cleaned out the nodes. Then, Tamoxifen kept  'em clean for a few months, but I had to go off the Tamoxifen due to a deep vein thrombosis (splenic vein). Primary tumor (right breast) and the bone met got smaller from chemo and stabilized on the Tamox too. Now, who knows what'll happen. They're trying to bust the clot with Lovenox injections which haven't been helping so far...but I still have to get 'em....  :-(

Yes Elaine, to be dx as stage IV ya gotta have mets!

Mine are are too many to count! All through the spine, pelvis, hip, femur (IM rodding), sternum, ribs, shoulder, skull, liver and had them in nodes and lung but those are gone now!

I started checking on the women who started this in 2007 and am sorry to report that so many of them have passed.  I pray that a cure is found soon.

My mom had mets to liver and bone 3 years ago, still clear of those, but was dx with brain mets 4 months ago.  Just finished 20 WBR treatments, so we will know in 2 months if it worked.
