    This is my daily list:

    Tamoxifen (1 daily)

fish oil with preferably 1000 DHA/EHA,

    multivitamin,

    KAL magnesium glycinate--200mg (1 pill a day)

    SloMag--143mg (2 tablets a day)

olive leaf extract--500mg standardized to 15% (keeps colds away) (1 capsule a day)

    Gaia turmeric--500mg (1 capsule a day)

    ginger--500mg (1 capsule a day)

    Vitamin D--5000IU (1 pill a day)

iCool for hot flashes (1 pill a day)

Peridin-C for hot flashes (2 pills a day)

probiotic (I take one capsule of Primadophilus Optima because it has 14 strains and 35 billion CFU and comes refridgerated from Vitamin Shoppe)

baby aspirin (I take 1 twice a week. A daily one caused me to bruise too easily and my MO said most docs think twice a week works just as well)

So that comes to 15!! I do split them up AM and PM mostly to split up my magnesium and to take the multivitamin at a different time from Tamoxifen just in case there could be any interaction. Pretty much everything I take is in response to something with the Tamoxifen. My MO asked me on day 1 to take the aspirin, fish oil with the higher DHA/EHA and multivitamin as his standard preference. Fish oil and aspirin are to help prevent blood clots. My BS asked that I add Vitamin D as he feels every person needs to check their levels and get them up. He feels low Vitamin D levels lead to BC. I didn't believe that since I work outside most every day for a good part of the day till he tested me and discovered I was at 27!! He says all the sunscreen we use keeps us from getting enough Vitamin D from the sun. I now have my levels up to a respectable 58. The Tamoxifen messed with my digestion hence the probiotics and caused constipation hence the SloMag. The turmeric, ginger and magnesium glycinate are all for my muscle and joint pain from Tamoxifen. After my surgeries I kept getting colds repeatedly for the first time so I turned to the OLE and haven't had one in 2 years. And the iCool was suggested by my MO for hot flashes and my holistic doc suggested the Peridin-C for the same. I take both and rarely have any now and the ones I do have are quite mild.

    Hope this helps!

Just to add to the conversation....I was recently prescribed the generic form of Cymbalta. Finally, after 2 years of pain (nerve damage from chemo and Tam s/e's) that gabapentin and tramadol couldn't control, I am now pain free. If this keeps up, I can stay on Tam for 10 years - no problem.

What is the BCI test? I am one of those lucky people that have just about every side effect you can get from Tamoxifen. I haven't had any uterine issues yet, just waiting for that one. I discussed with my MO and he just offered to put me on another med to help deal with it. No thanks, don't want to take more meds.

Im 30 days taking it, and I've only had hot flashes. They are not terrible hot flashes, but they are hot flashes. I'm very warm when I'm sleeping but that's it so far.

I am taking gabapentin and was taking effexor but never had any relief of hot flashes. My onco acted like gab was the only choice to help with hot flashes. She never mentioned Lexapro - do you think it helps?

My MO never mentioned either of these but I have a new GP and she was trying to put me on Effexor even though I didn't complain that they were that bad. What are the SE's? I am NOT giving up my sex life...or what is left of it.

Effexor didn't cause any s/e's - just didn't help the hotflashes which is the only reason I was taking it.

Wow! That's a long list! I am not taking anything else besides a Multi-Vitamin, and putting turmeric & ginger in my coffee. My Hot Flashes had subsided, no other noticeable side effects. well... period had been irregular, spacing out 2-3 months (came back about 11 months into Tamoxifen, had it 2 times so far). I think someone mentioned sex drive earlier? It's a non-issue for me, so I wouldn't know. I think I have some constipation, but not too bad, just adding prune to my daily salad, Kefir, Green Smoothie breakfast.

I am on the 10 year plan. A church friend (who's an Oncology researcher/ drug developer) said/ asked, "Are you on the 10 yr plan? If not, talk to your Dr." So I verified with my MO that I AM indeed on the 10yr.

Just wondering, any of you that have experienced headaches with tamox. did they eventually go away or did you keep having them for a while. ive been on it 3 months and have had them since day 1. I also had a bad sinus infection when i started it that I thought were causing these mild headaches, but apparently that wasn't the culprit. I had the hot flashes and are dealing with them, but just wondering about the headaches. My doctor is aware, and were doing an mri to be cautious, but Im pretty sure its from the tamixofen because ive missed my doses a couple times, and when I did no headache.

I went through a period of having headaches on Tamoxifen but I'm pretty sure it was sinus issues. I did a long course of Azelastine and used the NeilMed rinse religiously and eventually it all cleared up and the headaches went away. But I do think headaches is listed as a side effect.

I did for a couple weeks. I do take a daily clairitin and that has helped a bunch with my sinus issues, I think it also helps with joints, too.

recently I have been having sharp pain on my pubic bone area. Sometimes it's slightly higher. It's not constant but has been there for at least a month. I don't want to blame tamoxifen for everything but I would like to rule it out. I already had a hysterectomy but do have my ovaries. Anyone else ever have this? Thx.

Sounds like possible ovarian cysts. They can be quite painful.

My pharmacist says Tamoxifen is on back-order, which sadly means I had to switch back to the Watson brand...that's all they could get (I've been doing SO much better on Teva). Is this the same info others are getting across the country?

Buttafly, I have had headaches since starting Tamoxifen. My MO also ordered a brain MRI which didn't show any metastisis. I quit taking Tamox for a couple weeks and headaches almost completely disappeared. I have always been one to get headaches but these are different than my normal headaches.

myspaulding, I have been on Tamoxifen 6 y/o next month with headaches on occasion. They go up the back of my head, over the top and down to what eyebrows I have left. Glad to see a Hoosier here. I am a transplant to TX but was born, raised and lived most of my life in or around Ft. Wayne.

Please keep the list updated about your MRI & best wishes for a positive outcome.

Found out today that ovaries are still working, so Tamoxifen has been ordered. Starting on Thursday and having to switch out my depression meds. This is scarier than the lumpectomy!!!! Plus I meet the RO tomorrow

Best wishes to you, ArtyMom. It's quite a ride. I feel like taking care of myself is a full time job. I don't know how the moms with children at home do it.
