Hey, no fair making me have to think in this room - I come here to just gaze!!!   I found this guy outside ... said he lost a feather and he's pretty ticked off at the person who took it ... careful ladies :)

That peacock was actually at a local zoo very close to our trailer at the shore.  Admission is free, donations accepted, and they have a really cool assortment of animals.  When the kids and sil were down with us for my birthday last year that's what I said I wanted to do for the day!  Everyone eagerly agreed - it was a perfect weather day for it - and we really had fun.  We couldn't get this guy to open up though, and didn't want to take the cheap shot of scaring him for that effect.

My quilting adventure yesterday was amazing. Most fun was getting to know two of my new neighbors!!! My across-the-street neighbor took me to her friend's home & we together, received a "tour" thru the woman's lifetime of work. UNBELIEVABLE!! She has won numerous national awards for her quilts. They are completely 'traditional' in her approach -- and therefore, TOTALLY unlike anything I create, but it was awesome. Loved seeing her 'studio' and how she has everything organized and put together.

Beachies. I don't know where to begin to share my multitude of emotions on the 'passing' of this year into the next...... this year has been such a challenge to me on a personal/health/BC level -- with so much going so unexpectedly complicated and 'wrong.' I figured I had about 45 - 55 medical appointments this year -- when you factor in all of the PT visits. Sigh.

And of course losing some more of our sistahs is always so sobbering. In my case, saying good-by to Saint will forever have changed me. Today is her wedding anniversary, and I've been 'chatting' with Mr. Saint on the enormity of this day -- in their life..... just a year they were able to be out with friends and observe their 30th and the New Year.

My. How much can change in a year.

I just put up on Facebook, my unbelievable status. Today I heard from the "Marketing Department" at Redleaf Press and they needed my professional photo & bio for the advance work on a project that they will release as winter rolls into spring. It is entitled "One, Two, What Can I Do?" and is a collaboration of written text by a national dance expert and a two CD set of my recordings, 13 songs and dozens and dozens of my instrumentals.

Pretty amazing. This has been YEARS and YEARS in the making -- decades, if you count how long it's taken to create the music from my end..... years when you talk about the collaboration.

Then there's also the fact that I got my picture book finished during this year of 2010.

There are some other amazing prospects on the horizon.

In any case, this year has been one of heroic roller coaster proportions.

I owe the keeping of my sanity to you -- the beach!!!!!

Thanks from the bottom of my heart. The very bottom of my heart!!!!

    xx00xx00xx00xx

Here comes a brand new year: 2011!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm doing my "answering" as I read ... Faith, I'm so glad you spoke with Greg, I forgot it was their anniv'y this week.  I'd love to talk to you maybe during the weekend to share some Saint stories ... that hole just doesn't get smaller :(   But all the amazing things that have happened to you this past year lighten my spirits - thank you for giving us things to cheer about in the midst of our sorrow.  For me personally, the Rock the Ribbon celebration, and my very small part in the video will be highlights to raise my spirits for a very, very long time.  My wish for 2011?  That you all have at least one moment of joy - some don't get that ever, and for those of us who do ... let us treasure it and find a way to pass it on.  Hugs sistahs.    Now back to reading posts, and probably answering more :)
