LIFES A BEACH!

EPH, your planned trip sounds like so much fun. I like the lakes because they're so peaceful and quiet. I've been to cabins in NC and its great, cool in the AM and then just warm up enough to enjoy the day outside. Our beaches are usually very busy almost all year long. Voted #1 so now... who knows! Glad I know about the others that aren't listed.0

Mum, thinking of you on this big-wedding-day-of-celebration and can only begin to imagine the number of emotions that you'll experience this weekend.
So excited to see the pictures.

Everybody have a great beachie day, where ever you are.
It's downright c-o-l-d here in the great north of WI. We're huddled up in our hoodies and wool socks and laughing at how the weather makes such an impact on the day.
Today our little village is having a water-sport celebration at the marina, with all sorts of events that will only have polar bears to participate today! LOL. Maybe if the sun comes out a tad and the wind dies down a bit, we'll venture down to the park. There's a parade at noon.
Grab your long-johns and stop in! LOL

I enjoy the Canada geese even though they can be messy. They are fun to watch and are great parents. Raccoons like to lurk along the banks of the canal and hunt the baby ducks. Mallard drakes leave the parenting to the hens who are not particularly maternal so the tend to lose a few babies to them every year. The geese keep the goslings in the middle of the canal if there are any raccoons around. Some times families of geese team up and the adults harass the raccoon.

Question: The avatar at the top of the page where it says "angel wrote" has it ALWAYS said PA PA under the picture?????? If so, I'm not too observant-I've never notice that before....

I don't know but I only noticed it this morning when I first came on.

Lately there has been double display of location on all threads. ???

I have no clue Barbara..whoat do you mean?

When people post, look at their location.

I haven't noticed that BarbaraA, but I just noticed the PA PA ----------------Oh maybe it said "PA" for Pennsylvania & today it's double posting? No one else is showing double posted for me within this thread anyway.

Joni, I noticed that our location is now to the right of our avi instead of underneath where it had been before, wonder if Angel's had just said PA like you said and now it doubled. Weird!

your location is under your picture on my computer! Technology, such a wonderful but totally mysterious thing!

I have noticed on occasion the location is to the right of the avatar, but right now it is single and right where it should be.

beautiful flowers!!

I have noticed that the size of the avitar has something to do with it. If the avitar is small like blondiex46 then the location starts at the right then continues underneath and if it is larger like Meece it is underneath like it should be.

Hopefully this is a tourist and not one of our little beach town permanent residents.

chabba - I would hope so too, but based on your listing as Pacific Northwest Coast this may very well be a native to the area. We have black bears and you have the mountain lions. To bad that civilazation is destroying their habitat so they are now showing up more and more in our communities.

we also have mountain lions occasionally and we are urban..plus lots of coyotes, both kinds.

The cougars are fairly rare in town, average about once a year. We actually have several bears living in the area. There are regular sightings, sometimes 5 or 6 a week. They rarely intrude on developed lots. Only about 40% of the lots in town are developed. They generally stay in the undeveloped areas.
Raccoons cause more damage and are more of a threat to small pets and children. Coyotes don't do much damage to property but they love small pets.
We know the bears are around and avoid them and they pretty much avoid us. If one does get to be a problem it gets trapped and transported.

racoons and possums we have, bears no or at least I have never seen one here..

We also have racoons, possums and foxes that can be a problem for our pets and children. We have one particular beaver that keeps showing up in our little pond and building a dam inside the overflow drain. He was tagged and transported a couple of years ago, but still keep showing up here no matter how far away they take him in the state. Becuse he was tagged they know it is the same beaver! Don't know why he does not go the river that is just about 200 yards away where he would not cause a problem. The bears are gettimg more prevelant as more building goes on. When we first moved here most of the surrounding area was woods now it is apartment, shopping centers, and houses. The deer are getting braver too and try to eat all the flowers and plants that people try to grow in their fromt yards and anything they can reach over the fences. It is not unusual to see them in the early morning or late evening running down the street or between the houses that do not have fences.

I will post now on page 693 for me. Lisa that 'underwater' garden is absolutely SPECTACTULAR!!! Breath taking!!! Hats off for covering it at just the right angle to look like we're skimming the bottom of the ocean. I've scuba dived and it doesn't quite look like that during the day...but at night, all the colours come out like that!!!!
I will now hit submit, which will take me to the last page. This has dropped off my favourite list for some reason, which is why we're missing so many of us!!! See you at the end....

hey Barbe, good to see you here..glad you liked that photo..I haven't tried to print it up yet..

What resolution did you shoot it at Lisa? It could be made pretty big without going grainy if you were at a low ISO.

TODAY is Flag Day and I attended a most impressive ceremony on board the USS Midway Museum
truly an inspiration

Lisa - that does look really impressive. We have our flag fly in the breeze today, bt then weather permiting we ususally do have it out.
I got my front door repainted this morning so I am ready for a nap. I started early before it got too hot. I'll try to post a picture later. After it dries, I may need to do some touch up, then I'll take the picture. I am so relieved the taxes are done and I can get some of my other projects done.
