Oh beachies.
Oh, no, beachies.
I came in to say waht a totally & completely perfect day we had.
I had a PM waiting for 14 hours, while I was watching flags wave.
For the oldest of the beachie-babes.....
We have lost one of our originals.
MarshaKB is now an angel.
I met her in person.
I'll have to go and find the picture.
I really am without words.
Completely without words.
All out of words.
I am so grateful for the fireworks here amid friends.

Marsha was a theatre actress.
I met her just after she'd starred in a musical.
Now I'll have to go search for details.
My mind is empty.
Hubby thinks it's bedtime.
He never 'gets' just exactly how important this beach is to me.
I just found the news.
Did I mention that I was without words.
It was two years ago tomorrow that Saint's family arrived here in our midst. The day after the 4th, as she didn't want to travel in the throng.
Now I ramble.
Marsha fly free, fly whole,

Here is the picture of our gathering luncheon in Florida, from Jan 23, 2009.
We met in Ocala. MarshaKB lived in Ocala.
Our mailing address is Ocala, but we live outside/south of the city.
Marsha is seated in the front row in the middle.
This is such a good picture of her. Her dear friend CatFL is to her right in the blue shirt. Her other 'local' friend and BC survivor is seated wearing primarily black, her name is Jackie -- I don't know if she became active here at BCO.
That's me standing in the back row in the black & pink jacket.
This picture was taken shortly after Marsha learned that she was Stage IV. I believe she was going to rads from the lunch -- and needed to leave a bit early, as I remember, so her visiting was cut short.
She spoke so enthusiastically of her dedication to the local theatre program and particularly of her musical. I'll see if I can find those specifics. As you can see she was a real upbeat woman.
I think her smiles demonstrates that.
RIP dear Marsha.

Faith, I remember when they broke her leg moving her into x-ray!!! I was horrified at the time as I had no idea that cancer could bring a leg to that condition. She had to get it pinned. That WAS her, wasn't it???

Fathie, who were the other people in the photo?

So sorry, Faith, about Marsha. Sigh.

I went back to the first pages of our Beach thread to get reacquainted with Marsha & saw that she was one who posted on the very first page of this thread.
I learned that my first beach post was on page 5.
I can't believe how many of the posters in those first ten pages are now beach angels, in heaven with no need for sunscreen. It really rocked me all over again.
My first memories of Marsha were from BCO chat -- which was my first addiction here. I thought that it was truly amazing when I learned she was in Ocala, where we were moving.
I'm going down to the marina to see if there's a sunset tonight, it's been overcast all day.
Walking seems to be a good idea.

faithroad, know that you have been in my heart all day. Eager to hear of your journey.

aw crap Faithie Your initial loss for words has transferred to me since I just found out about Marsha by reading your post. Hugs sweetie. I hope you got to see a sunset, I know how it lifts each of us to witness that majesty for even a few minutes. More hugs.

Faithie - Thanks for sharing the group photo with Marsha. And you yourself are beautiful!!!!
Everyone - Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers, they sure make a difference! God is good!
I was able to come home from the hospital the same day as the surgery.--July 5-- I had a choice to stay, but with this fourth surgery, I just wanted to come home as soon as possible. It feels soooooo wonderful to have the implants out!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought I might be sad about it being flat and all....but I actually feel elated!!! Like I've been set free! I'll be bandaged up for several weeks; trying to take just the a minimum of pain meds as they make me feel sick. I don't know how I look under the bandages, but I don't even care!! I'm so thankful right now that God made a way for me to have the implants taken out. I'm so happy!!0 -
Faith, you will want to find fabrics that are very soft on your skin. You can wear all your 'normal' clothes, but my want to wear a soft cami under some of them. Your skin will be hypersensitive for a while as it all calms down. Congrats!!!! And welcome to my world...I haven't regretted being flat a single day and I'm over 2 1/2 years out.

Faithroad I also have been flat for over 2 yrs I very seldom bother wearing my (foobs) except for a special occasion. Besides I always collect coconuts on my trips for everyone.(inside joke)
Hope you healup quickly and the drains come out soon.

Good morning Beachies!! Hope all of you had a wondermous holiday. The pics are just super-wondermous!!! Love them all!!!
Lisa!! Just wanted to personally thank you for your service to our country.....and to your DH also. I love ANYTHING patriotic!! Gives me chills all over and I puff up with pride.
Faithroad---I don't think we've met, but I read that you're removing implants? I never got to that stage. From the very beginning of my journey, I wanted a bilat without reconstruction. It's been 3 years and I have absolutely no regrets!! Like Barbe and Mum have said, you can wear flufflies or whatever you choose when and if you choose to do so. I bought some of the microbeads and stuff them in a really soft camisole and it looks as natural as someone WITH boobs. Or if the blouse I happen to be wearing on a particular day is busy and ruffly, I don't bother wearing anything underneath. Good luck to you!! And oh............WELCOME TO THE BEACH!!!!!!
I'm soooooooo sorry to hear about Marsha:( I was thinking about her the other day because I haven't seen her post in so long. I was wishing it was because she was on stage so much and just didn't have time to come to the boards.
Mum, that last bird is beautiful. Where would one like that live?
Does anyone ever hear from Marejo? I haven't seen her in a long time either. I hope she's ok!!
Well, big hugs and best wishes to everyone on the beach!!!! Hope your humpday is a wondermously brilllllll one:):)

mum - all I can say is WOW! You take such extraordinary photos. What a gift you have !!

mum - I know I have an independent and quirky mind, but I keep getting tis mental picture of a cute small fish stalking a bird, most often a humming bird. Suspect the next few times I'll see a puffin.
