I'm lucky that my next door neighbor is also one of my best friends. We finally got her down the shore with us last year to our little piece of heaven at Hideaway. When we were down the bay for sunset one night, she and I were standing there saying to each other "It just doesn't get better than this...who could want more than this?". Unbeknownst to me, my hub snapped a pic at that particular moment! On a day like today when it was snowing (wound up with about 8 inches) and bitter cold (16 for a high with -9 wind chill) it helps to remember days like that one last year!

More barren than I would have expected, mum!

As for you, marlegal, I see the "tipping horizon" is a family defect! hehehehehhehehe Seriously, though, what a GREAT moment for him to have caught. I LOVE candid pictures so much better than posed. They really tell it like it is!

Mar, what a great picture and memory for you to have.

Barbe, this one is for you!!! Our campground has a FB page and one of the "security team" who stay there all year posted this a few days ago. Those things you see are pieces of ice on the bay. Nice and straight :)

hehehehehe, nope, it's still a slanted horizon!!! The horizon may be straight, but it has to be parallel to the bottom/top of the picture! If you slowly scroll down that picture to the horizon (the bottom of your screen is straight), you'll see the horizon is slanted up to the left. I see that when I just look at a picture, but I think maybe it's because I get sea sick. Any "off angles" are super exagerated to me!

Barbe, I thought it was slanted too. Watercolor teachers tell you to measure the horizon line to make sure it's straight. If you completed an entire painting with a slanted horizon, you'd be sick when you realized what you'd done. Much easier to hide in landscapes. Ever wonder why there are so many hills in the background?

I use Picasa to straighten pix. It has horizontal lines running through them for that.
