Frostecat: I'm 6 weeks out from BMX. Last weekend stopped at a relatives to see their remodel progress when I jumped to help my SIL lift something. Then it was in my arms and I was like, 'What the HELL am I doing?" It was just a reflex act to grab it. LOL Thankfully it didn't bother me later.
Thanks for all the info about the cup size. I know I we can't predict cup size based on implant size, I was just curious on various people's bodies what a 600cc implant gave them. I don't want to be a D cup. A large C is plenty for me. Thanks again!

Grammy0127 - I'm still sleeping on a wedge pillow but can turn onto and sleep on my side without any problem. My exchange surgery was 4 weeks ago today. I'm still in a bra 24 hours a day though and see my PS next Monday.

Grammy0127 and jeaniebeanie, Today is 1 week since exchange and I see PS tomorrow. The first 2 nights I slept in the recliner. Since then I tried the bed but couldn't get comfortable. Tonight, back to the recliner. I also am a side sleeper. I have tried to roll a little sideways but it causes pain. It feels like muscle pain. Probaby from the pocket work. It hurts when I bend over too. Like the silicone / implant is moving due to gravity.

I've been sleeping on my side since the second week post op. For some reason, sleeping on my side after this surgery has happened weeks earlier than usual. I do still have to keep a soft small pillow beneath the mattress and the implant AND another soft pillow under the "top" arm so it won't fall forward. One more bed pillow goes behind me so I can kind of angle back a bit if things get uncomfortable. So far so good.

Jeanie - the wedge kind of works like a recliner. One pillow under my head & one on each side of me to keep my arms comfortable.
Grammakathy - I am still in a bra too. Change to a softer one at night.
Dianems - I'm with you girl! You are still in the newly healing stage. I didn't move a lot 1 week out. Was worried that the implants would move on me. I still have weird feelings when I move around. I guess it will get better or we will get used to it.
Sandra - I tried to sleep on my side the other night. It felt like the implants were squishing together. The following day I wound up with uncomfortable itching between my breasts. Not sure if that is related or not but I decided to ask my PS tomorrow.
Thanks all for the input! TTYL

Just came back from my PS . The new girls look a lot better than I expected. On the radiated side where I lost my TE he was able to get a 180 cc Sentra shaped implant and on my rt side I got a 310 shaped. I knew and had approved the size difference prior to the surgery The PS was thrilled with the condition of my skin on the left due to the 2 fat graftings He said it was close to a flap being done. He showed me that if I do a JLo type of top they really look great Both sides have the same looking upper pole fullness and with a pad on the left I will look pretty symmetrical. I'm thrilled Now I have to pass the 2 week mark w/ o an infection and all will be good!!!! Tomorrow is 1 week only 1 more week to go!!! Fingers crossed!!!!!

A week from today, I should be home recuperating from my exchange. i am just nervous about medicaid covering the reduction of the other breast. not only does it look freaky (a size G-H on the non-cancer side and a future C cup on the cancer side), but it hurts my shoulder, neck and back and i walk crooked. I sure hope they will consider it medical necessity and not just for looks. I am having trouble sleeping over this. I bugged my PS's secretary all i could without being a total pest, she said they have to wait and should hear monday. I also called medicaid a few times, and was told it is still in "review". I wonder what the cost of that portion of the surgery would be if i had to pay it out of pocket, since i'm sure medicaid doesn't pay much anyway.

Hi Jeanie, Glad you PS was able to put your mind to rest regarding the burning. Is the tape to prevent scarring? I have heard of that. Hope you slept well, its the best thing for healing!
Babs, fingers are crossed!
Scary, Hope medicaid comes through.
I saw my PS today. He said I have no restrictions.... just add activities slowly. Side sleeping is fine.

Well, this proves that every doctor is different. I had the 1 week post-op visit yesterday. PS says everything looks fine. Side sleeping is OK. No lifting, pushing, pulling etc for a few more weeks. My sternum naturally bends outward a bit, right at the cleavage point. I always had a wider space between my breasts but, could compensate by scooping the real ones up and in with a bra. He did some medial pocket work to try and lessen the space between the 2 implants. He wants me in a bra 24/7 but NOT a sports bra without 2 separate molded cups. He says the other sports bras tend to flatten out the implants. And, Not the soft genie bras or Fruit of the Looms which someone had mentioned. Underwires, or not, is up to me but, the bra must have a lot of lateral support and push in from the sides....but Not Up.So after his office I went to Kohls and Walmart to look at the Bali which had been recommended on this website. Also, I liked the Danskin high impact sports bra that had 2 separate molded cups. Neither store had my size (32 DD) !!! So today I went to a bra / mastectomy shop. The ladies knew the exact brands which would achieve the lateral push-in but, had only 1 that fit me - a Curvy Kate which fit me at 32E. A Panache, 32DD, has been ordered. I also have a Wacoal Clear Comfort, that pulls them towards the center, that I can use at night. Tomorrow I will try Nordstroms. Man, I thought the only things that were hard to shop for were jeans and swimsuits. Now add bras to that list!

Sandra, I bought two camisole body shapers. One is the Genie shaper you recommended, the other is a Sweet Nothings shaper. I'm a solid size 8, and I have broad shoulders. I first tried on the Genie, which was a bit of a struggle, but once on, it was pretty comfortable, but a little tight in my underarm area. I bought a medium, but I think a large would be more comfortable. I had to have my husband help me get it off, cause my shoulder and arm has limited mobility. I then tried on the Sweet Nothings, which I bought in a large. Good grief, I could barely wiggle into the thing! Once on, it fit nicely in the bust, but was pretty tight around my middle, where I have a rather well developed spare tire. I about needed grease and a crow bar to get out of the thing! I'm thinking I'll order another Genie in large, so it'll be comfortable in my underarm area. I just don't want to feel like an overstuffed sausage in it.

Grammy,,,, it is some sort of cortisone/steroid tape to help healing,,, it is called Cordran Tape,,, I have to put on incision under Breast at night . No pressure on it or it will release more medication than needed and that isn't good,, 12 hrs on ,,, 12 hrs off,, so can't wear it with the bra, so I get a break and get to sleep without a bra!!!!! Horray,,, maybe I can get some sleep finally,,,, for 14 days,,, I am thrilled,,,,,it is really expensive,, I had to pay my highest co pay 60 bucks,,,, better work,,,
Andrea,,, I got a good chuckle on your explanation of trying to get out of the bra cause I was in JCP trying on bras and I was only 10days out of some revision surgery and I got "stuck" in the bra too, but I was alone!! Lol,, I busted out a sweat, and wiggled my arm out slowly but before I got it off my position was pretty funny,,, I can laugh now , but it wasn't funny at the time,,,,,,
I also got no restrictions yesterday, ease back into things,, if it hurts stop, don't go home and mop the floors he told me,,,,lol,,,,,l I did drive by myself today which was awesome,,, we don't realize the little things we take for granted,,,,, off to bed,,,,Healing Hugz to all,,,,,, J

I'm going to try to get the Genie CamiShaper tomorrow. I'm a size 10/12/14 (M/Lge/XL in tops) so I'll probably buy a large & an XL and let the physical therapist tell me if either would work w/lymphadema. Thanks Sandra for your recommends.

Babs happy for you. Fingers crossed.
JB1200, getting stuck on a bra like that can cause serious injury. Ask Sandy! I think she tore her stitches that way. Not fun.
Scary, hope you hear soon about the cost of the reduction.
To all much love

Moon,, I know, I thought I pulled a few myself,, while I was "stuck" it came to me ,, doc said,,,, NO, Pushing, pulling, lifting, and there I was doing it all,,,,,

Jeanie--LOL! The PS tells you to out and get a certain type of bra after the exchange but, obviously, he has never gone bra shopping for himself so he has no idea that this activity requires pushing, pulling, lifting, arms over head, etc.

Good news all. The surgery was approved. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Hugs!

Today I bought the Genie cami shaper in a large. It's so much more comfortable than the medium and doesn't rub my SNB incision. Sandra, I went to the Genie site and got the10 for $60 deal, plus free shipping. I ordered a lot of pretty colors. I'm psyched!

Thanks Moon

I went to WalMart and purchased the Genie CamiShaper in both Lge & XL. Our Sunday paper last week had a bunch of Genie coupons so I got it for $17.99. I usually wear a 12/14 top. The Large says 12/14 & fits just right. I'll take the XL back. I've had it on for 5 hours now & it's very comfortable. And Sandra is right, it does not ride up. If my PT thinks this is enough compression, I'll order more colors on line.

looking forward to buying bras when i know what the exact size will be!

Scary - great news. Glad that stress is over.
Jeanie - I had the same thought about trying on bras! I was exhausted and I had the mastectomy pro, at Nordstroms, bringing them to me. All I had to do was get them on and off.
Re genie shapers -- what website are you guys using to order? Since so many of you are raving about them, I would like to buy one. Not sure PS wants that much compression but I want to take one to next appointment and ask.
