About shoveling:
I came home from the hospital yesterday and someone had shoveled my sidewalk, driveway and walkway, I have no idea who did it, but wow I was thrilled.

Bigapple, I'm so happy you are home from the hospital! I hope all is well! I hope everyone on the EC forum has a Blessed Christmas Season!

Laura ~ Thank you for making the "rabbit" comment so that I didn't have to. I probably wouldn't have found a way to word it so delicately. HA!!! Possibly one of my all time favorite SATC episodes.
Big Apple ~ So glad to hear that you are home safely! Now you can let your body heal. We have relatives on Long Island in Port Jefferson and let's just say . . . . BRRRR!!!!! They are so jealous of us right now.
Am actually going stocking stuffer shopping this afternoon ~ can't believe that I have waited until almost the last minute. The baking was a twelve hour day on Sunday and I slept like a log that night.
Saw the PS yesterday and there were a couple of places where stitches poked out a little. He got some tweezers and pulled them a little then clipped them with scissors. Didn't feel a thing. So this morning I noticed one other place and thought "heck, I have tweezers and scissors". I pulled a little and then came to my senses. Having spent the last year of my life in dr offices and hospitals makes me think I am a surgeon?!?!??!?
They are shaping up nicely though at almost 3 weeks. A guy in the waiting room winked at me. I immediately got out my BlackBerry and pretended to be engrossed in messages. Yikes!! These things are powerful!!!
The best part is that I get to sleep on my side again starting this Saturday. YAHOO!!! All I can think of is the post where Deborah said she wears a bra at night to keep the girls from fighting with each other (or something like that). Now I totally get what she was saying. Found the best two-pack soft cottom sports bras at Target. Fits like a glove.
Back to work for me. Had to check in and see how everyone was doing.
Seasons Greetings!!!

Lilah: Do you mean the anatomical gummies? Clarify that he means either the Mentor CPG or Allergan 410's.0

cenemeth ~
Aren't we the fortunate ones here in CA...today is very "chilly"...mid 50's or so?? Wish we could send our sisters some sunshine! !
Ok...never look up what a "rabbit" is online without the right facts!!! LOL!! Never watched the SITC episodes but I kinda got the idea!!! Not the wine cork remover as someone mentioned!! You ladies are silly!
I have to admit it is a morale booster when I do get that look! Just as long as they do not follow you home!!!
Bigapple09 ~
So happy to hear that you are back at home!!!
Warm thoughts for everyone! Hope all are doing well from your surgeries!!! Can't wait for 2010!!!Mucho hugs!!!

Thank you Lifegoes on. I haven't had the exchange yet, not for a few more months (when my doggy babysitter is on spring break). I can't remember how many fills I've had, but I go in again tomorrow. So it'll be a while before the fipples (I'd never heard that before I got on here. I like it. ) come into play. But the scars on my front sound like the scars on your back. The original mastectomy scars are worse than where the PS went in to put in the expanders, and he even scraped the original scars during that surgery. I was also wondering if anyone's skin has gotten so thin from expanding that the PS had to make a new incision to put in the implants, or (God forbid) the PS used the same incision and it came open because the skin was too thin? One of my dogs had that happen after a dog fight (it was horrible) and it scares the crap out of me to think of that happening.

Texas: Ah thanks for the clarification. I completely understand and I think my body would do the same. I hope you feel relief soon!
Deborah: I actually have no idea which brand. I DO believe they are anatomical gummies (teardrop shaped, textured). I will see her in January (she's away for holidays until then) and get more info.
BigApple: Welcome home! And what a nice homecoming gift (especially on Long Island! where I hear there was close to 2 feet of snowfall this past weekend).
And my news: saw my BS today for my post-surgical follow-up and the pathology report was in on my right breast -- NO CANCER! As Laura would say: WAAAAAAAHOOOOO!!!!!!! I think that makes me NED but will check with my ONC when I see her next in January.
Cheers,
Lilah

Bumping up for Meghan.

Colleen - What a hoot about the wink! That's one thing I've noticed, too....men's eyes just tend to wander lower than they used to!
Welcome, Meghan! I can't recall anyone on here who has experienced incision issues due to thin skin......maybe some of the girls who've had rads.....someone will hopefully answer. My ps did say my skin was extremely thin, but it didn't compromise the incisions - he went through the original bmx scars......
Lizziesnunu - Good luck tomorrow, sweetie! I know it's scary- heck, it's still surgery! - but it's a happy step forward.....You'll love the staff at the surgery center, too - super nice! Do give me a call after Christmas and maybe we can have coffee or something when you come for a post-op checkup....
Our family will be off to frigid - and snowy! (YIPPEE!) - Indianapolis in the morning! I'm a packing and cleaning fiend, so may not check in again today. My parents have an archaic computer and internet, so I'll likely not check in on everyone 'til I get back next week. I wish all of you fabulous women a blessed Merry Christmas!!!

Got a peak at my new larger implants and grafted fipples today. I went from Mentor HP 750's to Mod. Profile Plus 960's as well as having the nipples done last Friday. I really think I am going to be pleased with the total outcome. The nipples (fipples?) look like the real deal albeit they still have stitches in them and PS said they will take awhile to look really good. He told me to bring a bra and I took him 3 as didn't know what he might want to put on me. He looked at each and decided on a sports bra from SOMA with no underwire. It feels pretty good and when I went to buy another one since I will be sleeping in them, they were buy 1 get one 1/2 off.DH was really pleased with outcome and now my new implants are filling in the areas I found "naked" before. Feeling good about it all and almost done in time for Christmas. Now if I could just sit down a bit better!
Hope the weather improves for all of you up in the North. We think it's cold here in FL, but nothing compared to what you have to contend with.

Got home from the hospital about an hour ago. The larger implants look so much better on my frame. Surprisingly, even though the saline is a little firmer than the silicone, they are still pretty soft. My PS was only able to overfill to 1100cc, instead of the planned 1200cc - but I am liking what I see so far. Boy the upper chest muscles are screaming but no pain elsewhere. Now it's time to chill out and enjoy a very laid back Christmas this year.
Merry Christmas to all the Ta-Ta Sisters. Wishing you peace and much happiness in 2010.

Thank you Val61. I'm hoping mine can use the same scars also. Are 500 cc implants pretty small? That's what my PS plans to use, but I don't know if they're going to be big enough.

Hi TaTa sisters. My new job is keeping me so busy I don't have time to even read much here any more.
I've been to the PS twice since getting nipples. He loosened the incision stitches but did not touch the nipple stitches the first time. The second time he took out the incision stitches and some of the nipple stitches but not all of them. So I have to go back a third time to finish up. He's trying real hard not to let the nips go flat. Right now they are chunky and huge! His nurse told me they are still swollen and will get a little smaller. Whew!
Jan1, the injectable that PS will use if the nipples do go flat is Radiesse. Don't know if insurance covers that tho.
Here's wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and a renewed outlook on life!

Hello lovely ladies. I just wanted to wish you all the happiest of holidays!!! I am a little over one week out from my exchange and even though I wish they were a little bigger I am growing more fond of the new girls daily. They are so soft and I don't have the rib pain that I did when I had the expanders. Lovely. I head to the frosty north tomorrow. Leaving the beach for family time. I love getting a snow fix and then back to more moderate temps. Hope santa brings you all something wonderful (a jackrabbit perhaps)...we have all been good this year in some pretty crappy situations. For me, I was diagnosed in Jan. so it has truly been a trying year of treatments, surgeries, etc. but I feel like I am so much more grateful for every little thing this Christmas. Happy Holidays to all. May 2010 be a cancer/treatment free year for us all.0

Nedeza: How sweet! Although I have heard that song many times, I listened to it with a different perspective this time. I have always thought Karen Carpenter had a lovely voice. Thanks! And I hope that you and all our BC sisters have a great Christmas and an even better New Year!! Here's to 2010!!! TCK0

I have heard this song sung by various artists but no one can beat Karen Carpenter's beautiful voice! I thought the lyrics have "suddenly" become appropriate!

Meghan, I had my incision open after a MONTH on my radiated side. The skin is very thin. My PS recommended that I go with slightly smaller implants. I get the steri-strips removed today (I think) so I'm hoping it worked.
Merry Christmas ladies! We've made it through a LOT!!!!

Shoshi: I'm by far no expert, but sounds to me like she should be getting a second opinion. Especially since they are saying she needs to be put to sleep. I think being put under is not something to be taken lightly and she should be asking more questions. I can't think why they would need to put her to sleep when they are just doing a biopsy? Maybe she misunderstood?
I'm sure she's scared and not thinking clearly...could someone not call for her or at least give her a list with what questions she should be asking once she finally does get in touch with this Dr? I wish her the best of luck and hopefully the something they see will be nothing.

Terri ~ I know how you feel about waiting for the drop and fluff part. Not sure what I was expecting since every stage has been something different for me to get used to. Guess I thought I would wake up and have boobs like the ones you see in Playboy. Ha!!
All I know is that they look a bit different (and better) every day and I am relying on everyone else's comments about the 3-5 month changes that take place. I really will try and get my pictures posted this weekend.
NAE ~ Love Karen Carpenter's voice ~ what a tragedy. Thanks for sharing!
Got most of my shopping done yesterday and at lunch today. The parking lot "space finding" gods were with me so I may actually be ready for Christmas this year.
Merry Christmas Ladies!!! Colleen

OK Colleen, you show me yours and I'll show you mine!...lol Patience seems to be the order of the day for the next few months....Funny, I liked them better when they had a bandage straight across each boob. Now that he's removed the bandages, I can see that where he put in the sutures, I'm all cinched up again like I was when he put in the TE's. I know that the sutures will melt in time, but for now I look like a really bad sewing job done by a 5 year old! ..........lol
Merry Christmas!
