Not necessary. If it is a nuisance, they can trap it and release it at another location where it will be welcome.

The bug bite, cyst or now called pus pocket (that is what the Derm called it) is not healing well. I am on different antibiotics. That is discouraging.

Cindy, I do think after you have done all your right after cancer txs. are done studies, you do have to wait for test ( mammogram ) results. I have a My Chart from the hospital that does all my work which right now is mammo's and all the urinary issues with Dr. B. I tap into that and can see my results quickly if I wish. Since I get notifications that entries have been made I usually do -- then wait for fill-in from whomever is in chg. of direct answers.
Haven't see Wily for 2 days so we will see. It may have decided on its own that it wasn't welcomed too well and needed to move on and I'm pretty sure there wasn't much at all for food. The raccoons haven't been out for some time now. They had gone earlier pretty much for the parents to teach foraging so were thinner to begin with. Will have to wait and see how it goes. In the meantime I will still pick up food after the feedings to continue to discourage in that way just in case.
petite, I think most issues now that WILL respond to anti-biotics either do it slower or may need testing to determine what will most successfully treat the problem. There has been very early on over prescribing and now there are so many other ways for anti-biotics to get into our bodies making some resistance. Hopefully, a sample has been tested so you are on something that will directly address what strain of infection/bacteria you have.

petite1: Sorry to hear your bite wound continues to be a treatment challenge. Hope they find the solution soon.
Our 23 year old Sharp microwave decided to bite the dust last night right after I finished cooking chili (from scratch) in it. It is only the second one we have owned and the first was a Sharp as well but a very large counter model (weighed a ton) that we gave away when we redid the kitchen. This was a microwave/convection oven that was also a counter model but we had it installed as a built-in in a cabinet. Tried to purchase a new one today from the local appliance store which did not have them in stock and then in spite of their online listings only had the stainless model. Our old one was white, did not show fingerprints and had a frame as a built-in. If we purchased the stainless one I knew I would be cleaning off fingerprints forever (stove is stainless and it is a fingerprint magnet) and it would be an additional $300 for the frame to make it look built-in. Who knew $300 bought so little today because this frame is barely 3 inches wide and it is more than half of what the new microwave would cost. So good old Walmart has it in stock and will deliver by next Wednesday. The size appears to be the same so the built-in frame can be used.
My DB who is a general contractor came yesterday to remove the wainscoting outside the hall bath so we can access the jetted tub motor. It stopped working recently and my DH will see what he can do to get it running. If it is just not an electrical part, then we will leave it to Kohler to fix. I want them to look at both while the wall is dismantled. He also fixed some poorly done work by the contractor we had used to put up drywall in the kitchen. The one baseboard heater span was poorly installed and the door to the garage was rubbing the door moulding. He fixed both and I am pleased. I will make a list for when he can return since he has said that business has been very slow due to covid and he needs the work. Our relationship had been strained by my mother's influence and after her death, he was still distant. I guess time does heal wounds because he is now willing to be friendlier. My DSIL is also part of the problem but then neither of them were ever direct witnesses to how my mother treated (read abused) me. She was sneaky in making sure they did not witness the abuse and I chose not to involve them in the dysfunction dynamics. Sometimes being protective backfires and mother's do not always love their children. I'll just see how this plays out and go from there.

I went to my first senior exercise class at the gym yesterday. We had a substitute instructor who was so cute and dynamic. She smiled the whole time as she led us in a completely different routine. It was fun. I complimented her afterwards.
The traffic seems to be worse than when we went north to MN in late May. I-12 is undergoing construction for widening and a lot of vehicles are taking detours that crowd the highways near our neighborhood.
Wishing everyone a good Saturday.

I forgot to mention that I made an appointment for my Pfizer booster shot on Monday.
Also, a discussion is in progress in dh's family about Thanksgiving. Some of the family are not vaccinated, which is a problem for some who are vaccinated, included our BIL, a retired physician.

It is the highest form of self-respect to admit our errors and mistakes and make amends for them. To make a mistake is only an error in judgment, but to adhere to it when it is discovered shows infirmity of character.

I feel for you Carole. Construction seems such an on-going item around here. Very much on the intestate going south which is our usual direction when we head to Marion. It has been so frequent an item that now for several yrs. I go on the older route which in many places has a view of the interstate. Also since the highway ( interstate ) route has lanes to St. Louis, Mo, as well as Indiana, as well as Chicago -- it is a huge truck route which I very much dislike. I will be glad for you when your highway issues are back to normal.
It will be hot today. No mention of humidity -- just heat.
I have nothing much planned for the week-end and will just see what develops as I go along. At my house in general we are always in the midst of something -- whether outside or inside.
Hope you all have a great Saturday and week-end.

They just plastered our block with no parking signs for next week. Where do they think all these people are going to put their cars? There was a number to call and it went to a water dept voicemail. That means we probably can't drive down the street either. Two cars in our driveway will block the sidewalk, which is illegal.

Bummer, Wren. Sounds like a catch 22.
According to our local forecasters, we are having a second summer. It definitely is hot and humid! I was enjoying having cooler mornings.

I remember that heat. it's 58 at 2pm and predicted to go 1 degree higher for the day. Windy too and it feels like winter. DH saw someone on the way to the store with gloves and winter beanie.

We drove to Windham, NY for their fall festival. We stayed off the highway and took the back roads to enjoy the beautiful fall foliage. Very nice time down there. Three different bands around town and one up at the ski resort, all sounded great. Young niece had fun with pumpkin painting and a balloon made into a pumpkin. We ate a late lunch, early dinner at a local restaurant and totally enjoyed the day. High was 63, verylittle sun, so it was sweatshirt weather.

If you want to reach a state of bliss, then go beyond your ego and the internal dialogue. Make a decision to relinquish the need to control, the need to be approved, and the need to judge. Those are the three things the ego is doing all the time. It's very important to be aware of them every time they come up. -Deepak Chopra

Warm today but nice breeze. SIL is ( materials were already here from some time back ) adding onto the side of our garage a carport that the lawn tractors can sit under. The push mowers will find a home in my storage shed which is a fair size. Things keep falling into place pretty darn well. Nothing much planned for the day and will just let it develop as it will.
Rain will be coming it sounds like. This time of yr. we start to see some bare patches on the lawn. I hope in Spring we can seed the lawn a lot better. We are also seeing the beginning of the acorns coming down along with some of the less sturdy leaves. I so love summer and always feel a little sad when this time of yr. comes. It is usually very pretty though and he coolness always so appreciated after the summer's heat. I will be able to do some things that would have been a lot more difficult -- like re-doing my car for the winter months. Since hopefully the garage later on will have some room -- some work could be done as long as it isn't freezing -- like sweeping out my car. Living on dirt lanes with a semi-rock driveway always guarantees plenty of sm. rocks and yard debris finding its way inside the car.
Hope you all have a really good Sunday.

Sounds like a relaxed, enjoyable day, Cindy. Enjoyed reading your description.
Jackie, your SIL seems like a hard-working guy. I wouldn't mind borrowing him!
The weather here is summer. Temperatures in the 80's and humid. DH just went out driving his truck to look for chunks of wood he can use for turning bowls. There's still a lot of cleanup to be done thanks to Ida.
Our refrigerator stopped working yesterday, setting off a panic, and then started working again. I'm shocked at how expensive new refrigerators are and how scarce, too. I hope this one continues to work while we shop for a new one.
It's looking like a big Thanksgiving gathering for dh's family is not likely to happen because dh's brother and two of the brother's kids have opted not to be vaccinated. Need I mention their politics? Thanksgiving is always a very expensive holiday for us with the travel and motel stays. Also very tiring as we get older. I won't mind staying home. If the gathering splits into two gatherings we don't dare attend one and not the other.

Jackie: Summer is my favorite season as well. Don't know whether it is because I was a Leo baby but I love the sun, even some of the warmer days (not the humidity though) the long days, and gardening. I like the fall colors but not the shortened days with early darkness. I used to ask my students if they ever woke at 6 in the dark and didn't know if it was AM or PM and most had had that experience. So then I would tell them not to be so judgmental when an older person had the same experience. It did give them a different perspective when they had also had that experience.
Its a rainy day today so hopefully we can finish emptying the basement storage closet and purging of old spray cans of paint. DH has a tendency to keep them even if they feel really light so out they go today. If he has a can of red I will have him spray the gardening tools so we can find them. Why they make them green or brown so they blend in is questionable. He is always looking for something he has laid down and can't find. The red crow bar is now easy to spot but it was MIA for about 3 months in its original color.
It is my DS and DDIL's 12 wedding anniversary today and DS made a wonderful video of photos highlighting their relationship from when they met until now incorporating all their milestones and set it to music. He sent it to me for approval and I suggested he add wedding pictures since they were missing. He had virtually none because the photographer they hired took a huge deposit, took the photos and video and then held them hostage for a large ransom which he refused to pay. We had our photos so we sent them to incorporate in the final production. I am sure she will love it.
Have a good day.

Give the best you have received from the past to the best that you may come to know in the future. Accept life daily not as a cup to be drained but as a chalice to be filled with whatsoever things are honest, pure, lovely, and of good report. Making a living is best undertaken as part of the more important business of making a life. Every now and again take a good look at something not made with hands—a mountain, a star, the turn of a stream. There will come to you wisdom and patience and solace, and above all the assurance that you are not alone in the world. -Sidney Lovett

Sun today, but likely cool so it will be okay. So far, so good. No sign of coyote at the feral cat colony. Sure glad of that. I have no idea if someone did something or it just got tired of no chance to get ANY food as such and moved on where things might be more fortuitous for it. I hope it is okay elsewhere so that it won't bother with a return visit.
Our yard is starting to have a fair amt. of leaves so will have to maybe think of some mulching. Carport addition is still in progress and it is great to be able to walk in the big garage. Thing is -- I don't have much reason to be there. I do hope ( it's quite possible ) that my car can go in there when it is finally done. Dh has some sorting as sil is down that far. Giggling to myself -- the old folks in this house are going to have to get on the ball a little.
Will have two places to go today. Didn't go last week as both people in the house had colds -- so did just the easy lady. It will feel like a long day but won't be hard.
Hope you all have a really nice day.

It is foggy, overcast, and misting here today. Rain forecast for all day Wednesday and Thursday with flash flood warnings already posted. Have to make a grocery store run, looks like I'd better do that today!

Well Ladies, I am frustrated, at the moment.
Warning - I need to rant!
I have been waiting for the Oncotype DX test results, still nothing after three weeks.
I have called the surgeon, they have no answers.
Today I was to have appt. with Oncologist today. I called to cancel appt.since there was no new information.
I had to tell them they didn't have the needed information. (Why did I have to bring that to their attention?)
The nurse then asked when did I want to reschedule.
I answered, when the results are in.
The response from nurse, "next Tuesday ok?"
Answering them, "only if the tests results are in and you have the appt, made for the Radiology Oncologist."
Nurse responded, "you haven't heard from Rad Oncologist."
I answered, "no I haven't, it has been two weeks." (Why don't they know that?)
I further explained, That if the original referral was not received or denied - I let them know what my other choice was.
I don't want to get lost in the system.
I could say more... Just frustrating.
Thanks for listening.

Praying for you. This is so odd that they haven't gotten busy with this. Is there a governmental agency that can kick the pants of people who stall and delay about your case? I would have preferred to loudly complain in the Dr.'s office than on the phone, but that is me.

Irish,
You can call Genomic Health which is the company that runs the Oncotype tests yourself:
February 17, 2020 · Have a question about the Oncotype tests, or need support? Visit us at https://bit.ly/2O3Kcg2, or contact our Customer Service Department at either 1 (866) ONCOTYPE (866-662-6897) or email us at customerservice@genomichealth.com.
You don't have to wait the results wind their way back to your physician. They are located in Redwood City, CA so they are still on Pacific Daylight Time until Nov 7.

I haven't been on for a few days. The leg infection is slowly doing better. Today i had some energy and to the cat to the vet at 8 and picked up a carry out breakfast from Hardy's to take home. I love the sausage and biscuits. DH enjoyed the treat. I went for a 2 mile walk. Went back out to the post office. Made turkey chili in the crockpot. Now, relaxing before I pick up my little black cat.

I did call thanks jhl.
Found out that the Lab received the sample four days later than the order arrived 9/28. The lab then said that it could be ready by the end of this week. And that that the medical necessity information has been sent. UGH
The oncology doctor's office call made app for Wed. Hope results are back by then and that the two week wait on the referral for Onc Rad office to make appt is done as well.
I did reach out to the Breast cancer nurse navigator to let her know the difficulties that have risen.
I remember my father telling me, you have to fight for yourself - no one else will.
So frustrating...

Irisheyes, I called genomichealth for OncoDX and had them fax me the results before I met with my medical oncologist. That way I was not blind sided by the report, and had plenty of time to absorb it. It's was years ago and it had to be faxed; I had to fill out a form, and fax it with a copy of my drivers license to give authorization to send it to me. Might be electronic signature now. Good luck.
It was beautiful here today. I ran some errands and got some orange stakes in the lawn for winter snowplow to know where to avoid. It was 71 and wa than normal, good time to get these in before the ground freezes. Then I grabbed a book, put on a bathing suit bottom and sat on the deck in the sun reading. Nothing better for me to relax.
I see my orthopedic sports med surgeon tomorrow for my final follow up. Should be quick, but I've got many questions. Also see my dermatologist tomorrow. I'm jammed packed with October Dr appts.
dbuggy1- it's one step at a time, with a lot of waiting in between. After the biopsy you'll know more. Sorry your wife has to go through this

dbuggy - you are both welcome here. As you can read from IrishEyes, the waiting for a diagnosis and treatment plan can be some of the hardest times. As you get that, I urge you to use the other threads as well as come here. Usually if you ask here, someone will be able to share their experience but I found the other threads very helpful as I was going through specific phases of my treatment. If the biopsy is positive, you will need to make a lot of decisions with your health care team, usually fairly quickly.
IrishEyes, speaking of other threads, consider joining a "started chemo - fill in the month. My group, February 2017, got very close, starting a private Facebook group which still is active.
