Karen, when I said it was my choice to retire, I hope you didn't think I was indicating that you should retire! I meant that my principal and co-workers supported me, just like yours are, and my decision to retire had to do with me, not them! Everyone always told me that when I decide to retire I WILL know it is the right time! They were 100% right. Ever since Covid hit, I have been taking it one year at a time. I planned to retire in June, but realized I just wouldn't make it that long due to health issues. My job required a lot of walking and standing. I was on my feet most of the morning and from 11:00 to 2:45 most every day. If I could have sat more during the day, I might have waited until June. My DH and his health issues were also a factor.
I will be thinking of you today, Karen!
Thinking of you too, Sandy!
So glad you are having fun dog sitting, Jackie! I would love to have a dog again, but I need to know we can afford a dog before I do that. I did see an adorable puppy on a local rescue page and if it wasn't for the surgery, I might have applied to get her! I know now is not a good time to get a new furbaby but she is sooo cute! So, I did the next best thing, I forwarded the picture and information to one of my BFF's who is also looking for a small dog and she is going to try to get her!
Again, such wonderful photos Betrayal!!!!! So glad you post those here!
I have been getting small bouts of anxiety about tomorrow's surgery. Not sure why, I know what they are going to do, as in I watched youtube videos of the procedures in addition to what my surgeon told me. I was a science major, and a veterinary technician, so I find the videos fascinating and interesting. They don't add to my anxiety, honestly, I don't know why I am feeling this. It's normal, I know it always happens to me the day prior to surgery, and I am perfectly calm and fine the day of. I just thought this time I wouldn't feel any anxiety since it will be an easy surgery in comparison to most of the others I have had.
I will read the posts over the next few days or so, but most likely won't write anything. I will just have to see how I feel.
Enjoy the week everyone and stay safe!

Best of luck tomorrow Mavericksmom. Sending you healing vibes for a quick recovery. Carole - hope all goes well at the DMV with your license renewal. Reminds me when my MIL needed to renew her license many years ago. She was in her upper 80s. No issues with the drivers tests, but had trouble operating the computerized test. If they had offered it via paper and pencil it wouldn't have been an issue, but a test on a PC with a mouse posed a challenge. She eventually passed. Hope Heidi is giving you extra snuggles Sandy. What kind of puppy are you thinking of getting Jackie? Thinking of you Karen as you continue with your testing.
Another warm, but breezy day. Hope the weather is improving for those with snow and cold. Have a great afternoon and evening.

I took a bunch of notes last night and then hit in the shower and never responded to anything.
Sandy, you did right by Happy; enjoy NOLA. Karen, ramble away, vent till the cows come home, that’s what we’re here for. Sending good juju for your bone biopsy. Maverick, wishing success to you for Thursdays exchange. Carol, your unexpected overnight guests story was a hoot. Good thing you didn’t have evening plans and that your guest room wasn’t a disaster. You could show up at their place for a reciprocal night. Betrayal, beautiful pictures, I really enjoy. On Monday I took my bike ride with an eagle overhead. I was up in peoples driveways, went around a cul de sac 2x , just to keep watching it. Petite, I’m glad your Jeep was able to get you back home. Mary, you’re preparing for your knee surgery well in advance, which is good. Sandy, the number of electrical outlets in my NY house is an issue too. Maybe 1 per bedroom. In FL, house seems to have them every 5 feet, something I love. Jackie, a puppy!! Oh my, I can’t wait to hear those stories. My sister got a pup after her dog had passed and the stories were funny. Things you forget you need to do with a puppy vs your own older dog. But she loves him dearly, and he’s now 8 months old and staying put.
Today is partner’s birthday. We celebrated at a Phillies spring training game. I even had paid for the score board to display a message and announce it. But I never got a picture of it! He did get to see and hear it, made him happy. We sweat like crazy people sitting in 84 degrees in full sun. Showers necessary before going out to dinner.

Cindy, you get the prize for "Most Inclusive Post"!!! I'm smiling at the suggestion to turn up at Guy and Kris's tiny little house in southern MN. I doubt they even have a guest room. They might have to make a pallet on the floor.
The license renewal went smoothly. My appointment was for 9:50 and I was called to a station at 10:00. The employees must have training for unfriendliness. And for never being in a hurry. I certainly can't complain about the cost. $23.25 for a license for 4 years. I didn't have the necessary documents for a license good for federal ID but I can go back with the documents and for another $23 get the ID version.
I also bought some pretty bedding plants at the nursery (I think I mentioned it) for planters on the patio that are a little bare since a deer or deers made a meal of the pansies I planted for the winter and spring. It's so built up around here that I'm surprised there is still enough habitat for deer.
I also went to LaZBoy furniture store and picked out a chair that I will almost certainly buy. And home by noon.
Waiting for good reports from Karen and Maverick.

Thinking of you MM.
When you are ready for a puppy, watch you local animal shelter for "deals." We paid about $20.00 for a senior dog because we were seniors and it was Tuesday. Sometimes our shelters gets overwhelmed with puppies and significantly lower fees. A dog should have up to date shots and speutered before you bring it home.
Glad the driver's license went so well. Must admit that our area makes it way too easy to renew. My Dad took himself over at 80 and was given a license even though he couldn't turn his head and Mom got one at 90 without a test. Absolutely shouldn't have gotten it. Neighbors reported that she was hitting their cars in the parking lot and DMV sent a letter saying she had to have her doctor sign off and the .... doctor did. Next time they did make her drive and she failed. I was greatly relieved.
About the safe driver insurance deals - I have found that since my Nisson tells me my fuel efficiency I have gotten much more conscious about quick stops and starts and my average mileage per gallon has gone up even though I seldom drive anywhere that the speed limit is over 45.
Rainy and cold here and I feel sorry for folks who have paid big bucks to come down for spring training. Rain and snow were desperately needed but it is getting very old. Glad I don't live further north - Flagstaff has had over 100 inches of snow. Love the winter pictures but don't want to be in it.

MM - no, I did not think you were implying that I should also retire. I was just saying I'm not ready to as I still love what I do. But with this new health stuff who knows but I still hope it won't interfere with continuing to work another couple years. Good luck tomorrow.
It's been a long day. Three hours at the hospital for the bone marrow biopsy. It hurt!!! Results in 3-5 days but I don't see hematologist till March 13th. I'm guessing if the news is not good, I'll hear before that. Just got back from endocrinologist. She is saying it is still hypercalciumia and hyperparathyroidism as PTH and calcium are elevated. She doesn't think they are related to cancer, but she will leave that to the hematologist. Hence the BMB. She wants labs again in a couple weeks and then will decide whether to go back on Calcium but she wants me on a low dose Vitamin D - 1000iu (was on 2000iu). She is ordering an ultrasound of my neck for the parathyroid. She also doesn't want me to change the Prolia yet, so will get my next shot as planned mid April. I'm just mentally and physically exhausted!!! On the way home from the endocrinologist, DH said for someone who looks healthy, you really have a lot going on!!! Praying that the BMB is normal and its not multiple myeloma. I feel like I'm back in February 2006, when I was diagnosed with BC and spent the month going to doctor after doctor. In between doctor appointments and procedures, I need to work!!
My son came over tonight to pick up the Hamentashen I baked for him as well as some other baked good from the freezer. DH and I decided it was time to tell the kids what was going on. I rambled on like a crazy lady - I was pretty confused after talking to him!!! I told DH that I need a script when I tell DDs or he has to do it. Can't tell DD#2 now as she is heading into her second round of finals. She is also the one that worries about me the most. I'd much rather do it in person, but won't see her till summer. Depending on the results of the bone marrow biopsy, there might be nothing urgent to tell at this time.
Was looking at work emails tonight and I have a mandatory training the first week in June or the last week in July. Neither are good times for me, but I think I'll opt for the second training, July 31 - August 4. Both interfere with my travel plans!
Sweet dreams.

I forgot all about spring training for the Cactus League in Arizona. That has to be very disappointing to travel there and end up with bad weather. Here's hoping it improves. I know our area, Fort Myers and Lee County, really needs the influx of money that visitors bring. Hotels, restaurants and general spending are much appreciated. We're still rebounding from Ian, and our beaches are still a mess.
Karen, the waiting always feels torturous. (HUGS))

Karen, continued thoughts of you. I remember my poor sister, who had breast cancer and non-Hodgkins Lymphoma at the same time. She went through so many bone marrow tests I lost count, but I remember her telling me how painful they were. I am glad you told your son, and I can relate to not telling your DD, the worrier, as I have one of those too!
Carole, glad the driver license appointment went well. We got our Real ID drivers licenses before Covid hit, but what a fiasco. I had to go back 3 times, my DH had to go four times and I can tell you it cost us a lot, because they made us get new birth certificates and I had to get a new marriage certificate!
Sandy, still thinking of you too!
As you can guess, I don't have to be at the hospital until later this morning, 11:15, to be exact. Good news is I had to stop eating solids at midnight but was allowed clear liquids up to 7:00 AM, so I had a glass of cranberry juice and a glass of water earlier this morning, as I was up at 5:30. At least I will be better hydrated.
I am nervous, which I know is to be expected. I am trying to focus on the fact that by 2:00, or soon after, this afternoon, I should be home! I hope so anyway! Suddenly I am not feeling as confident as I did a few days ago, again, I assume this is normal. I don't remember being this nervous before any of my other surgeries, but that is probably because most of them were scheduled much earlier in the morning.
I hope everyone has a great day today!

I had to take a written test when I renewed my drivers license 8 years ago. I took a little time to read the rules booklet while I sat in the waiting area. Four years ago, to my delight, I received a letter inviting me to renew online and pay a few dollars extra. The only time I took a driving test was when I got my license at age sixteen. In those days, our high schools in Louisiana had free classes. Now, I'm told, parents have to pay for their driving age kids to attend a private driving school that is not cheap. Or they can learn the rules and develop driving skills on their own.
It is state law for car owners to carry liability insurance but the chances are good that you can be involved in an auto accident with another car and the owner of the other car is uninsured. So those of us who are insured also carry insurance for accidents with uninsured drivers. Louisiana is a high insurance rates state, so we're told.
Home insurance is off the charts in the area where I live. It will only get worse, hurricane by hurricane.
Last night I had one of those dreaded periods of waking up and not going back to sleep. I got up and read for about an hour, went back to bed and slept a few more hours. I'm taking care of some end of life advance planning including a will and preparation of our funeral plot in a family cemetery and I started thinking about the to do list. We don't have children to burden with the burial details.
My doorbell just rang and here I sat in my nightgown. I ordered 15 bales of pine straw for mulch and it was delivered early. Fortunately I had the check written out. Of course, the cost has gone up. But the service can't be beat. We always get a Christmas card from Gomez Straw.
Today I have a hair appointment for cut and color.
Hoping for good outcomes to surgery and tests.

Wow/ I missed a few days and so much going one. I had the vein ablation on Tuesday. My leg is wrapped u[ like a mummy. I can take the dressings off late this afternoon and can't wait. I see the cancer doctor today and get the Prolia shot. The Jeep goes in for repairs on Tuesday. A wrecker will pick it up about 8:00 am. I will have to find a ride to pick it up when it is finished. Otherwise, I might have to take a taxi. I go back to the cardiovascular surgeon on Friday for follow up and an ultrasound.
Karen, OMG so much going on cyber hugs for you.
Betrayal, such beautiful pictures.
Sandy, I am so sorry to hear about Happy. Cyber hugs to you.
Maverick, good luck.
Carole, expect the unexpected. LOL
Jackie, anxious to hear about the puppy. I have been thinking either another cat or a dog.

Sunny this morning, but the breeziness and warmer temps. of late will bring what is billed as 100 % chances for rain to night and into tomorrow. Welcome Spring.
Today is the last day for having to go visit with puppies. Afterwards, I can just go for the pure delight of it. My friend will insist on paying me and I've stopped trying to resist although sometimes I don't own up to the real amt. of time I spend because it still feels sort of awful to be paid for having a good time and being amused by doggie antics. I will go an extra time today, as the pups are going to be fed before the daughter leaves to go to the airport -- and the dogs sensing something is up likely will not go outside. I will go over and check to make sure no surprises are left in the floor somewhere inside the house.
Karen you are going through so much and I am going to put on my grateful hat every time I let myself even think of a poor me idea about something. I admire how you are just facing things head on and still so glad you have your support system right by your side. Here's hoping it ALL works out better than it looks at the moment.
Maverick --you are on the mind as well. You ladies just put the best foot forward and keep on marching. Hoping for the very best and a great recovery this afternoon at home. Hugs to both of you.
Mary, you too. You are always looking for optimum solutions and seem to find them too. There are so many women I know who just refuse to give up. If no door, they make one.
Hope you are all going to have a fantastic day.

Mavericksmom, thinking of you and hoping everything goes smoothly and the results are positive. I like to have tests, scans or surgery as early as possible. I get so anxious and just want to have it over with. Let us know how everything went.

Mavericksmom - hope your surgery went smoothly today. Thinking of you Karen as you wait for your test results. Hope the vein ablation wasn't too painful petite. Such a pain not having your car available. I hope everyone is doing well.
Cindy - we use to go to the minor league stadium in Ft Meyers years ago when our kids were younger. I think the Red Sox had their training camp in SW FlL at the time. Minor league games are such fun. One July 4th we went to a game and stayed to see the fireworks.
When we got our Real IDs before COVID, we brought all the required documents, or so we thought. DH is a JR. Some documents had that designation and some didn't. We went back 3 times before finally getting his Real ID.
Have a nice evening.

Hope that all who have had recent surgeries, procedures or other health related issues get good results and are comfortable with minimal and controlled pain. petite1, hope the car repairs are less costly than you think and that you can hitch a ride with a friend or neighbor. Has Midnight Louie missed Miss Felix? Even though they had their differences, I have had cats who mourned the loss of another sometimes buddy, and wonder if you have seen that?
I agree with Jackie, that any health issues I am having currently are really minor compared to what others are experiencing and I need to slap my head as well to remind myself. Playing with puppies is so much fun. Hope you can find a puppy that will complete your family.
Regan had her third class last night and had to walk in tandem with a small, long haired dachshund named Dexter and did well. She seems to feel he is not threatening and really just ignored his presence for the most part. He occasionally breaks lose from his owner and man can those short legs run in overdrive. It is fun to watch him dash with his owner in hot pursuit. She still is reactive to 2 others who are non-stop barkers and not sure what the instructor is thinking when he says he wants to eventually have her walk along side them. Do not want to have any incidents. She spends the first 20 minutes of class tense but eventually does relax some, but still on her guard. She was the only one who did a "down" and "leave it" for a treat. None of the others would do a "down". I was proud of her because my DSIL taught her this skill while we were gone.
I have an Acorn account thanks to my DS and binge watched Candice Renoir today. Like that Acorn not only has Brit shows but also other European shows that are a fallback when we hit the rerun periods or nights when I have no favorite shows. Lazy day after laundry and floor mopping yesterday.
More tete a tete daffodils are in bloom and they look so pretty. So spring is coming and not a minute too soon for me. I need the days to get longer so I get more sunshine and feel less oppressed by the winter darkness.
Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow.

MM - hope you are resting comfortably at home.
The ultrasound of my parathyroid is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. They said it should take an hour. MY DH asked me how an ultrasound could take so long. Told him don't know. I hope to have the results before I see the hematologist on the 13th.
My foot is more sore and swollen again, so I guess it's back to the boot. It feels pretty much like it did just before I went to the Podiatrist. Podiatrist said if it got worse to put the boot back on and come see him. DH said skip the appointment. Happy to do so as I'm so worn out from appointments - 7 so far this year!!!

The surgery went well, home and so far normal weakness and feeling tired but very little pain without Oxycodone. The surgery, however was not “the piece of cake” I was expecting it to be. The anesthesiologist tried to put IV in my feet, 3 times without success. Each time was extremely painful! Feet hurt way more than arms! IV was put in my neck. He did mapping on both arms to check lymph system and right arm looks good. He will discus left arm which has very visible lymphedema, at the follow up visit.
Surgery went very well, I don’t remember anything in the OR. Post OP was long due to high blood pressure. I woke up with compression bandages covering my breasts and abdominal area. I need to have them on all the time until I go for my follow up Tuesday morning. Obviously, no showers until after FUV. Ugh! I didn’t get home until 7:20, and thankfully my daughter came to get me. She also stayed to get me settled in. I was sent home with six medications, one was OxyContin which I hopefully won’t need, but all of the meds came with 3-5 pages of information. I know that’s good to have but thankfully my DD sat on the floor, read through the papers and stapled each meditations pages. She explained each medication to me and when to take which I really appreciated because I felt too loopy to deal with that. My DD was a life savor!
My DH was stressed due to my ordeal. He was upset by the Anesthesiologist attempts to put the IV in my foot, seeing me in pain. When I got home I found out that he never ate dinner! He is diabetic! I know it was because he was so distraught. Our DD helped him too! She was our angel!
Wishing all a good day! Sunny here, makes me feel good, but I will be sleeping most of the day.

We in the West don't think much in terms of balance, and obviously we should. Even the very thought of an exquisite union and balance of all our forces, both physical and mental, has a gentle, hopeful ring to it. . . . All of us must find a bridge between our physical and spiritual parts. When that balance is achieved, what a happy comfort for ourselves!
Edward J. Lavin0 -
You're right Maverick. It wasn't a piece of cake but thank goodness it is done. So glad to hear you had your daughter to sort through things and make sure that you as well as your husband had a solid foundation to begin the healing progress from your surgery. I hope you are able to have an easier time now, but do rest as much as you can. Time to put all your pre-preparations to good use now and just ease into wellness again.
Rained all through the night and still going this morning. I think it will go on all day, but hopefully no drenchers or thunderstorms though the weather person did say it was possible. Well, we did know it was coming. That is helping me accept the dreaded grayness of the day. I'll get by and I do have my special lights to help.
Haven't heard from my friends, but I don't expect to as yet. They know I'd be reluctant to come over today when it is due to be hopefully sunny tomorrow. Their plane was due in long before the rain so no issues there.
I hope you all have a good day. Thinking of all.

Day 2 after surgery, no pain, just uncomfortable due to weight gain and binders. I’m feeling better than I imagined I would. Trying to walk around my house often and as for as long as I can because my circulation seems poor. I wiggle my feet and move my legs when I’m sitting. I gained 6 pounds the day after surgery and this morning that went up 4 pounds for a total of ten pounds! I am obese and retain fluids easily so I assume this is due to medications. As long as it doesn’t keep going up and I feel okay I will wait for my follow up appointment on Tuesday morning to inform my doctor. My goal after I recover is to lose weight and get down to a BMR in the “overweight “ category. I know people would say I should aim for a BMaI in the normal range, but with lipedema and lymphedema, I will be happy to just be “overweight!”
Cloudy and dreary looking outside but the sun appears to be trying to shine. Funny that being newly retired Saturday’s no longer seem special!

Great news that you're recovering so well, MM. Your good attitude helps, I'm sure.
I spent a couple of hours outside doing gardening work yesterday. About an hour on the patio, planting some bedding plants in the planters after pulling the weeds that quickly crowd the flowering plants. Also weeding the bed that borders the back of the house by the patio.
Then another hour fertilizing the bed with five knockout roses I planted last year in what was a day lily bed before I pulled up the lilies. Also weeding that bed and spreading four bales of pine straw. I will finish spreading the pine straw on that bed today. And do some sneezing and blowing since the air is full of pollen. My limit of yard work is about 2 hours when it used to be 5 to 8 hours in the past. The ole gray mare....
This weekend will be perfect weather, sunny and not so humid. Then regular summer again next week.
Before we know it, May will be here and about the middle of May, time to head north if dh has all his health issues under control. He is trying hard, seeing doctors, undergoing tests, starting PT. His cardiologist put him on a different med for the fluid retention. Sure hopes it does better than the lasix, which worked for a couple of years.
Wishing all a good Saturday.

Lost a post yet again. MM: WW used to tout dietary diuretics such as mushrooms and french green beans to use for water retention. Remember that your implant may weigh more than your fill did and that could account for some of that weight plus you have wraps in place. You will have edema at the surgical site as well so give yourself a break and be kind to yourself. Ignore the scale for a few days. I, too, want to get to the overweight BMI and fully realize that ever getting to my wedding day weight is nigh on impossible. It could only be achieved by strict dieting that would consist of air and water only, so not about to happen.
I will be getting a grandnephew in 9 days. He will have a big sister so my niece's family order resembles mine. She is one of 3 girls, so my DB and DSIL will finally have a boy in their lives. They are all excited.
It has been overcast today with a few peeks of sun. It will be windy today so the temp will feel like it is lower than what the thermometer displays, high 40's. Much better than rain we had late yesterday. Not much planned for weekend.
Smudge has been showing some improvement with IBD. She is eating and having less vomiting and diarrhea. Seems the steroids might be working and hope we can get her stable.
Here's the last of the Jackson Hole photos.
This is just a random stranger who sat on this snowman ice (real ice) chair and was willing to pose for this photo. He was definitely eye candy.
Jackson Square antler arches lit at night.
The raven that visited us most days.
Here you can see this chair is ice.

Karen - sorry to hear that on top of all the tests you’re having, your foot is giving you issues again. Are you back in the boot again? Mavericksmom - glad surgery went well, but sorry to hear about the ordeal getting an IV. My last couple of surgeries, I’ve asked them to get a vein finder (or ultrasound) before sticking me multiple times (I have small veins). it really helped. Great pictures betrayal. Not sure I’d want to sit in an ice chair. BRR. Glad smudge is better. Congratulations on the grandnephew. I’m getting a great-nephew in 3 weeks. Won’t meet him till later in the year since his parents are currently in Germany. We usually start our flower bed and deck planting in May Carole. NOLA must be beautiful this time of year. We get crocuses and daffodils in bloom, but could still see a freeze in March. I expect our azaleas will bloom in April. Hope everyone has a healthy and safe day.

MM, encouraging news that your healing is proceeding apace, but don’t rush it.
Glad to hear Smudge's treatment seems to be working, Betrayal. Give her a chin-scritch & ear rub for me.
I am eating entirely too much this trip, despite not snacking. Left toes, back and since Tues. night a groin strain are making walking a challenge and I'm doing a lot less of it than I did in past visits. (Groin strain was from wrestling heavy suitcases down the stairs before bedtime. Next time will just slide them down). Doesn't help that the sidewalks in the Quarter are unevenly banked and in a state of disrepair—a sprained ankle waiting to happen. But I haven't cut back my intake to compensate for my lowered “output." This morning while Bob was in his courses I snagged the last seat in the demo course at the New Orleans School of Cooking. (The hands-on courses book up months ahead). Hadn't realized we'd be getting fed: first a large biscuit, then gumbo, jambalaya, pralines and bread pudding. Oh, and Abita Amber…before noon. Good thing all I had before leaving our room was lousy pod-machine coffee—why a luxe hotel in a city renowned for its coffee equips its rooms with those stupid little 1-or-2-cup Cuisinart pod brewers, and “Wolfgang Puck" pods (as tasty as a “Hockey Puck") that make weak brown hot water is beyond me. Brought back pralines for Bob, but couldn't take out the remainder of the bottle of Abita.
Oh, and learned that I can keto-i-fy jambalaya with cauliflower rice and even make a roux with coconut flour, so gumbo will be back in my home repertoire. With all the distressing news about erithrytol, however, not gonna “pimp” the praline recipe with Lakanto & Swerve. The amounts that would be necessary are not exactly prudent. Not giving up my keto maple-old syrup or brownie mixes, however
Bob has been working hard in the room, reading echoes, EKGs and Holter monitors as well as doing CME questions. He reports that the ACC Exhibit Hall is a ghost of its former self—there used to be much more swag (back in the day, spouses could register to attend too) such as good pens, pads, penlights, clocks, paperweights, tote bags, etc. They even offered massage chairs and Metamucil piña coladas (back when soluble fiber was a heart “thing"). Now just cheap drug company ballpoints. Tomorrow he'll have early morning courses and then we'll do the Rivergate Mall (he needs new Levis and I might stop into Chicos Outlet before we hit either Cafe du Monde for beignets or Mulate's for brunch. (Brennan's was booked quite awhile back). Or maybe Mulate's for the savories and CDM for dessert. Wish I hadn't brought only dark-colored clothes—darn powdered sugar! Also doesn't help that the pollen count is high and there'll be a whole lotta sneezing goin' on

Good morning. Midnight Louie sometimes searches for Miss Felix and for DH. He does grieve. When I went for the follow up my blood pressure was very low, as it also was at the Cancer Center. So, I have another follow up with the Cardiovascular doc. Labs are normal, so it is not dehydration or anything like that. I think it is grief. I have to continue wearing the compression stocking until the 13th, I think. It is Hot!
Maverick, Glad you are doing OK.

oh Sandy, what a great read! Your descriptions made me laugh out loud at times! (powder sugar) I could definitely relate to that!
I love Brennan’s! Loved their eggs Benedict! So good!
Enjoy your time in NOLA!
I thought of Bob and wished I had a cardiologist for a husband! After my surgery my blood pressure went so high they kept me in post op for over four hours. It’s fine now, but I have a real issue with blood pressure and bradycardia (less than 60 beats per minute) I am sure I will get a bill from the hospital cardiologist who “peaked in on me,” literally just peaked in!
I definitely need to stay off the scale! I am up two more pounds! How is that even possible??? That’s after I finally got my constipation taken care of, which was exdifficult even though I didn’t take opioids!
I would rather be in NOLA!

Hugs, Petite.
Glad you are enjoying NOLA, Sandy.
Today is a beautiful day. A little later I will take myself out into the yard to do work that I put off yesterday.
Happy Sunday.

Not only is there often a right and wrong, but what goes around does
come around, Karma exists, chickens do come home to roost, and
as my mother, Phyllis, liked to say, "There is always a day of reckoning."
The good among the great understand that every choice we make adds to
the strength or weakness of our spirits—ourselves, or to use an old
fashioned word for the same idea, our souls. That is every human's life
work: to construct an identity bit by bit, to walk a path step by step,
to live a life that is worthy of something higher, lighter, more
fulfilling, and maybe even everlasting.
Donald Van de Mark0 -
Sunny this morning as we knew it would be. Drying out after our rain. I haven't looked at the long-range forecast as I'm happier just glowing with the sun. Hoping all of you with tests, recoveries or just general health issues find some relief. You are all beautiful human beings. As you can tell I'm in one of my expansive moods.
Hoping whatever we do, we all have a really good day.

MM, weight gain post-op is pretty common—still retaining fluid from IVs during surgery & recovery room, and relative inactivity. I gained 10 lbs and had high glucose after each of my knee replacement surgeries. When you have the energy & comfort to be more active, the weight will come off. For me, twice-daily PT (which was grueling) did the trick. Patience, though—it can take a couple of weeks. Careful, though, especially if weaning off painkillers: your endorphin receptors demand to be “occupied” and sweets often take the place of opioids.
At Palace Cafe last night, we’d thought the police cars out front were just there to deter smash & grabs along Canal Street and reassure tourists, just like along Michigan Ave. Turns out that there had been a revenge incident INSIDE the restaurant an hour before (spurned lover tried to set a server on fire)

We went to another spring training game. This time Tigers vs Twins. The parking lot was full of tailgating parties, and a lot of Michigan license plates. Always fun, but I think my face is somewhat sunburnt. We sweat the sunscreen off, as it rolls into our eyes. I drank so much liquid to stay hydrated it felt like I could slosh as I walked. I think we hit 88 while we were there.
Sun wears me out. I’m showered and could take a nap but probably won’t. I hope you all have a great Sunday.
