It is 12 degrees outside, but no wind, and it doesn't seem so bad with the sun out.Winking  I'm not a fan of weather this cold, but the sun does make it passable.  I try not to stay out long when it is like this.  Have gone back to walking at our local Rec. Center.  It will help me keep getting in some sort of shape -- rather than the little too round and filled out ( that sounds so much nicer than dumpy doesn't it ? ) look I sort of had going.  Pooching out in all the wrong places.  I think for some of us ( thinking of you Sandra ) walking is a great exercise.  I know I need to do a few more things, but walking is the all around one that will help with everything.  You get to that age and I've been there for awhile.

Hope your cold leaves as quickly as it came Sandra and I'm also glad that things got a bit better towards the end of your cruise.  I think I can sense that it would pose some difficulty adjusting after only dealing with medical issues for so much time that it could feel abit overwhelming.  Sounds like cruises are not where you can gentle into the fun and activities. I'm with you on the next one too --- it sounds great.

Thinking of you Chevy with (((((((big))))))) hugs.

    Blessings,

    Jackie

Chevy OMG that's hysterical, how could anyone train a dog like that--so cute. When "Frazier" was on TV--still is but that's the type of dog they had, but they had a few dogs cuz each was trained to do something different. Oh Chevy much love to u and u'r DH.

School is open tomorrow sob, Well it'll be a short week for them. All the calls I'm getting I'm getting tired of talking to these strange people.

    In Memory of Chevy's Lacee:

    I live
among God's creatures now - in the heavens of your mind
    So do not
grieve for me, my friend as I am with my kind."

My collar is a rainbow's hue, my leash a
    shooting star -
My boundaries are the Milky Way where I sparkle
    from afar.

There are no pens or kennels here for I am
    not confined-
But free to roam God's heavens among my canine kind.

I nap the day on a snowy cloud, gentle
    breezes rocking me -
And dream the dreams of earthlings and how it
    used to be.

The trees are full of liver treats and
    tennis balls abound -
And milkbones line the walkways just waiting
    to be found.

    There even is
a ring set up on the grass all lush and green -
    And everyone who
gaits around, becomes the Best of Breed.

For we're all winners in this place, we have
    no faults you see -
And God passes out those ribbons to each one,
    even me.

    I drink from
waters laced with gold, my world a beauty to behold -
    And wise old
dogs do form my pride to amble at my very side.

At night I sleep in an angel's arms, her
    wings protecting me -
And moonbeams dance about us as stardust
    falls on thee.

So when your life on earth is spent, and you
    stand at Heaven's gate -
Have no fear of loneliness for here, you
    know, I wait."

Well at 10:00 PM it is 15 degrees, I turned heat up to 68 for the night.  DGD school was canceled today and tomorrow for the weather in Pensacola, FL.  But the ice caps are not melting are they?

Had a burst of energy today , got some things done.  Will pay for it tomorrow.

DD goes into inpatient Alcohol treatment on Feb. 10 unless they have a cancellation.  I hope and pray she can do this and it will work.

Sandra, glad you are back and among us.  I know how you feel about all the people, noise, etc.  I had that same problem.  It is better now, but I still hate large numbers of people and cities.

    Everyone take care.

    Hi Everyone,

I have been truant for awhile at this site.  After reporting that I had chemo brain and unable to concentrate it all went downhill fast!  After my first TCH on Jan 15th I endured and then succumbed to a raging neutropenia that put me in the hospital.  The lab values had the docs in ER inserting a large bore trauma needle with talks of possible sepsis.  They trotted out the big antibiotics - Cipro being in a gang of 2.  I have never, ever been that ill.  My dd was terrified but very present....later she confided that one of the docs had pulled her aside and said I Must starting hydrating and eating. HAH. It was only when all the drugs clicked that I was able to start but let me tell you it was agony.  Fast forward to today, I am 2 day's post hospital discharge and eating much better just not as much as she would like. I did get a mild virus but even that seems ok, no fever.  Every day I flood my kidneys.  Last night I slept for 9 hours:) Life is good again and am I grateful

Di!  Thank you.... that is beautiful..... I printed it off, to put in Lacee's scrap-book!  Jackie sent me something also....  And another gal sent me the "Rainbow Bridge" poem..

I think the whole sad thing, just kind of threw DH for a loop.... He was helping me take her boxes and jars of dog-bones out, to the garage, and yesterday he asked if I had "seen" them...   But I just told him, "I think you took them all out to the garage".....   Maybe he was subconsciously trying to shut things out for a bit....?   Oh well.... we'll both be okay later on....

WE HAVE 2 MARY'S!   Oh wow!  Now I'll really be confused!  Don't tell Cammi!   Did I know this?  I'll try and keep you guys straight!   AND YOU ARE BOTH IN FLORIDA?

THAT did it.... I'll never get it right!   So do either one of you know my Daughter?  In Orlando?

MaryFox!  Yes, I just printed off the Nascar Schedule yesterday!    Yes, it's high time for Junior....  DD in Orlando sent me the BIGGEST book...like an ALBUM of the history of Nascar!  I mean I don't think a burp went un-noticed!   We drove down to the Daytona Beach one trip.... where it all started....  And we went to the track!  Do you guys watch the Daytona 500?

It's just me, but I love to watch it on TV...  It's just easier to understand.  I watched a race in Phoenix one time, and it was fun, but I get more out of it by listening to the announcers...   And watching re-plays about the race, and pit talk....etc.    I sound like I know what I'm talking about, but I really don't. Loopy

Morning Wren and Jackie....  That WAS a beautiful poem...Thank you Kath.... yes she would!  Smile  She was beautiful!

Good Luck, and prayers for your Daughter Mommarch... My Brother's SIL, is doing good, in a 1/2 way house!  Even has a job, and talking about someday getting a home, so he and his Son can live together again....  Long story..... but slowly coming together....

RABBIT!  Thank GOD you are better!  KEEP DRINKING!   Oh wow!  Sorry about that scare!  One of our Directors at Coors wound up in the Hospital one time JUST from being dehydrated!  It cause all SORTS of problems!  They kept her for 3 days!  And she didn't have all the other problems....  Man!  You came close, little friend....  Glad you are better.

    Love you gals...xoxoxoxo

    Good Morning.

Di that poem was perfect for Lacee and Chevy, it is so comforting. Chevy u know I'm thinking about u.

Yes Yes I saw 2 Mary's now what? The confusion will reign for some people--me and Chevy. we'll get it straight soon.

Rabbit what a crazy time u had---That why so many of us say water, water, water--it's so very important, well u know now. Try the vitamin waters, they taste better--I drink Propel and there is a bottle next to me all the time.

Oh I have to take a shower today--I've been so lazy and actually busy with work, it's kind of a stupid reason but it's my reasoning.

    PK I'll BBL

Morning everyone --- well I guess I have been out to lunch somewhere.....I didn't catch that we had two Marys but then I often trying to think a million thoughts at once.

Mommarch, I have fingers crossed for your DD.  So strange that the thing that gives you a sense of freedom is something that actually takes it away in the end.  I hope she can get in and do well.

Velvet, I am so sorry that happened.  Water is so important to us.  Many people think they are getting a lot of it because there is so much of it in coffee, tea and other drinks.  The trick of it is though that it takes pretty much plain water to hydrate and rinse unwanted materials from the body.  We get so into the Dr.'s saying drink at least 8 glasses a water a day.....I'm not sure we hear it correctly anymore.  I am always making myself think ( not so easy at times ) as I once drank 8 to 12 bottles of water a day.....especially the high humidity summer heat time here, and almost ruined my taste for water during chemo.  It has been a struggle to re-learn to reach for the water.  Sleeping nine hours is good.  We heal during sleep.....and if you went for awhile without sleeping well then you have catching up to do.

    ((((((Chevy))))).

Rita -- you can just keep on coloring me green, but it will feel better as we are warming up a bit and losing some of the icy wind.  Not a bad thing.  I do think it is possible that winter is far from over, but on these sunny days like we have had for the past two or three....no matter how cold, my mind starts slipping into thinking of Spring

Hope you all have a really pretty day.

    Blessings,

    Jackie

And CAMMI!  Did you see they were both in Florida?  I think this is a trick.... Probably one and the same person....  they are trying to drive us nuts...

Nah, we'll NEVER get this straight....  We can preTEND we do though....  for our own sakes....Winking

And so what was your "reason" for WHAT?   Because you are taking a shower?  How come NOW?   Because you have to work?  From your room, on your phone, with your nightgown on?   Okay....  I get it now....

    See?  We are beyond hope...Ha!

Hi all ... It sounds like at least some of you in the frigid zones are getting at least a little relief which is very good!  We here in a drought area may be getting some precip which will be good if it actually comes.  When the weatherman makes a big deal of a storm, which he is, the storm often seems to miss us.

I read the Rainbow Bridge poem over and over when I had to let my very special border collie go.  I often feel her loving presence with me.  She had a way of knowing when I needed her beside me.

My brain is foggy today, so I hope I get my docs to understand the questions I am going to ask ... nothing major ... routine weekly RO visit and PCP yearly physical.  I think even routine doc appointments scare me now after my routine mammo started the BC journey.

Rabbit - that must have been terrifying. So glad you're better.

Chevyboy - we lived in Boulder for 11 years until 2006.  When we lived in San Diego we went to races at Riverside when it was still there and sat at the top of the esses where they looked like they were coming right at you. Also went to a couple in Phoenix and one in Michigan. We were big Dale Sr. fans.  We settled in FL in 2012 in Vero Beach on the east coast.  Keep meaning to go up to Daytona but not for a race - too much of a zoo and too $$$ for us anymore.  We watch every race except the all-star because it has too many gimmicks anymore.

OK Chevy Mary Fox did live in u'r state--more confusion--or should we call u Foxy Mary, then we will know which Mary is which Mary, although Mary is a very old and biblical and beautiful name knowing more than 1 is a bit mind rattling for some of us--(Chevy, Me) but we will catch on soon or later whichever gets to our brain first.

Ok, I'm one of the Mary's causing the confusion! Right now, you can call me "sick Mary!" My liver enzymes are up, I have a low grade fever, headache, and just generally feel awful. I'm having more blood work and a liver ultrasound tomorrow. We have to leave for NC Friday to watch our grand kids while their mom goes out of state. I love seeing them, but really don't want to go when I'm feeling so bad. Speaking of water, I drink a ton of it just taking pills. I have no taste for coffee or tea anymore, which is so strange, because I used to be such a coffee and tea lover.

MaryLW, will you have the ultrasound results before you leave so that you can get some meds to help you feel better?  Traveling is not pleasant when one feels ill.  Plus, you will have more fun with the grands if you feel good.  Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery!

I hope to have the test results before we leave. We wouldn't go, but there's nobody else to watch the kids. They're easy kids, though, and really just need adults to be available. We normally do a lot of things with them when we visit, but if I have to stay in bed, it'll be ok.

Sally...I hope your doctor's appt. went well.  Like you, I just can't ever erase the anxiety of those "so-called routine" appointments.  I thought I would get over that in time but it hasn't happened yet!

It's raining on the Cape now.  I guess the Florida panhandle is getting sleet but we're far enough south to escape that.  I met some Illinois ladies for lunch and a short shopping spree today so the rain really didn't bother us.  I'm glad to see that some of you are getting a little sunshine and more warmth in the MidWest.

FoxyMary!  So have you been to the Flea Market in Daytona Beach!  I love that place!    Yes, I remember Sr. very well....   And I heard the traffic jams leaving Daytona are terrible!  My Grandson went one time... camped out there....  I'll watch on TV....Ha!

And we've been to Vero Beach fishing with the Grand-sons, and stayed a couple nights on Singer Island!  So beautiful there!

Hey, do you guys in Florida have fleas?  I mean your dogs and cats?  DD is getting blamed for having fleas in her house/yard by our Grandson and his stupid Girlfriend!  Seems "Moxie" comes home with fleas when DD takes her for walks and babysits her!  Like there aren't any anywhere else in Orlando!

It's a regular flea circus over there!  Next thing, he will bag the damn fleas, to show his Mom!   I told her to tell him, well how do you know they are from MY house!  What, do they have a little micro-chip in their ears with my address on them!

They also live only 2 blocks away!  Maybe Daughter's house is a free-roam flea park?    It's not POSSIBLE that Moxie gets fleas from only one property in Orlando, is it?   Freakin' fleas!

Cammi, what is your take on fleas?  You have any?  So should we call her Foxy?   So who is old and biblical again?  I'm missing something here.

Ooooh!  SickMary?  Ah geez!  That doesn't sound good at all....  You had better get that checked out!  Are you taking antibiotics?   See, I sound as if I know what I'm talking about....   We can call you ProudMary as soon as you get better...okay?

Hi Di and Rita!  Talk to you in the morning....xoxoxoxo

Rita, my appointments did go well.  Thanks.  Did you meet the Illinois ladies in Florida or did you know them from home?  Isn't shopping a special kind of fun away from your usual stores.  Even the Orlando Dillards seems different from my home area Dillards, but smaller stores are my favorite when I am away from home.

Chevy, DGS's girlfriend sounds kind of nervy or is this an isolated incident?  I was always afraid to make negative comments to a boyfriend's parent.

Fleas can be a real problem sometimes. We treat the dog and cats every month, but we still find them. I think they must live in the yard. Maybe the squirrels have fleas.

We had an indoor cat, age 18, who passed earlier this year.  No fleas because she never went out.

When I was a kid I hated my name. Went to Catholic school where every teacher was Sister Mary Something and there were loads of other Marys.  I wanted an exotic name.  Rita Hayworth had a daughter my age named Jasmine - I wanted a name like that.

FoxyMary--u should hve named u'r sel Jasmine when u started on here then we'd u Jasmine all the time.

FLEAS any furbaby can get them from anywhere expecially if they are outside, so who can u blame the Circus for starting a flea act, or nature for manufacturing fleas, or just the way fleas appear, Their a tricky bunch of little guys that can hop further than a 2 foot person, well in ratio, I don't mean a 24 inch person-- and they breed more than bunnies and yet bunnies are cute and fleas just don't have that attraction to most people or furbabies. So my take on fleas is kill em, kill them all show no mercy. EXECUTE all of them. I said it calmly.
